Nimisha I think they are, remember her quest to find them! (I think that's how it went... it's been a while) I always thought that Chiyo didn't sleep with the pigtails. She has long hair and looks like a totally different person with them...not in pigtails. I'm not good with words

In the first or second episode she gets new detachable piggytails in the mail, but in the third episode she wakes up without piggytails and puts them in.
