I found this a while back and I figured I'd share it with you! =3

http://www.strapya-world.com/categories/12_71_1175.html

Knowing me, I'd get ten of these suckers to put on my cell phone at the same time xD

but how does the plant breathe? o.0 it looks sealed.
I saw another variation where you had to water the plant and when it got too big for the vial you could plant it in a pot.(the one I'd prefer to get)

Would you guys rock this?
EDIT: I MIGHT try to make one! My dad brews beer and wines, so we have some old corks lying around and i might be albe to fashion a container out of plastics in our recysling! And I doubt moss would outgrow the container very fast (put some nutrient rich compost dirt in for nutrition)
I can also make the cell phone strap from old teabag strings(i pull them off to reuse for something else later)

I love making cell phone charms anyay so this is a cool project for me! =D

I made several! =3

How To Make Them!

Materials
1)A Clear Firm Plastic (you can get it from battary containers, tamagotchi toy packaging. Rummage through your recycling bin!=3)
2)You will also need strings. You can use tea bag strings(if you use this you will need at least three to braid them) or leftover twine from your garden!
3)A Cork. You only need one per mini terrarium cell phone charm, and you can even use a used one, my dad brews beer and wine so i managed to get a lot of those.
4)A Pocket knife. They tend to have corkscrews added to them, in case you mess up(so you can remove it and try again)
5)A Stapler with staples.
6)A Small plant and soil.
7)A Tiny Bowl with some water in it.(a soda bottle cap MAY work...I haven't tried that one.)
cool Pliers

Step One:
You want to cut the plastic into a long rectangle. I couldn't take a picture of the clear plastic because it was clear. The camera couldn't see it.
Then you want to staple one side. You don't want to make the staple fold, just make imprints. Set the staples aside.
Use your pocket knife to make the holes go all the way through and larger. Then do the same thing for the other side. You want the holes to line up!
Then push the staples through the holes (make sure the pointy part is on the inside of the newely formed container. fold them down with the pliers, NOT your fingers!
The result should look something like this:

Step Two:

Now take your cork.
Cut off one end of it. Make sure it's enough to be thick in your particular container, but not overbearing. You need to do this with both ends. If your cylinder is smaller than the cork, fee free to cut it to size/shape.

Step Three:
Push the cork into the bottom of the cylinder.
This might be a little difficult if the cork is a little large, but that means it shouldn't be able to fall out easily.

Step Four:
on the top end, use your knife to poke a hole in the plastic for the string. Make it just large enough for the string so you don't have a ton of extra room for the string to slide out.

Be sure to knot the string on the inside of the cylinder! Braid it if it is several strands of thin string, but if you use something larger, there oughtnt be a need to.

Knot it on the INSIDE of the cylinder on the other side of the container too!

Step Five:
Cut the other end of the cork off at about the same thickness of the bottom. This will be your "lid".
Put a small amount of soil in the bottom of the container, and top it off with your moss(or whatever plant you decide to put in it). "Cork" the container then.

Step Six:
Put your container in the water. you should put it in the water every night. that way the cork/s will absorb the water enableing the plants to be hydrated. =3

I usually find cell phone charms cumbersome, but these would be really cute as a small gift to sit on a windowsill or something xp I especially like the handmade ones 3nodding

Directions please?

BAH! These things are so cute, cuz!

They DO make great gifts, and I agree, cell phone charms can be annoying (expecially when you hardly ever carry a cell phone) but these are so adorable! :3
Great going!

Awesome; I would've never thought about soaking the cork in water instead of watering the plant.

So creative whee
