id say thrash metal like early metallica. and i just got into mastodon and they are progressive metal

I don't know, I'm told the metal bands I stick to tend to be towards the doom metal area. The only ones I know I like for sure are Stoner/doom metal and depressive black metal. I'm told I'd probably like gothic metal, which i still need to get around to checking out.
