Do you prefer subbed or dubbed anime?
If I'm watching a series for the first time, I will usually look for subbed anime, but I will gladly used dubbed if I can't find subbed versions.
If I'm watching a series I have already started, I tend to stick with whichever I started with. For example, if episodes 1-4 are dubbed only, and 5-13 are both subbed and dubbed, even if I prefer subbed over dubbed, I will still watch 5-13 dubbed, since that's what I started with. Only if I don't have a choice will I switch between subbed and dubbed.
What're your preferences, people of Poll Haven?

I'm a die-hard subtitle girl. I hate dubs since they change things around so much, and I'd rather have the true story first, then go see the dubs of my favorite anime to see how the voices work.
The subs are helping me learn Japanese, my main reason. <3

I prefer subbed for quality, but if it's just something I'm half paying attention to I'll picked dubbed so I can half watch half listen while I work on something else at the same time. Luckily the quality of many dubs has drastically increased over the last few years.

So far I seem to be in the minority.
I prefer Dubbed simply because I find it difficult to read subtitles and watch what is happening at the same time. I find it distracting.
I also can't complain about the English voice actors if I've never heard the originals.

well dubbed ones is more convenient. You can still keep track of the story even if you need to do something for a sec unlike subbed ones, you need full attention to catch up the worlds below the screen. Also if you're going to sub, it's better if you have the cd/dvd of it or simply on net so you can pause it or go over for anything you'd missed. But there's also things that is definitely good in sub! you learn some Japanese words and its correct pronunciation plus some dub anime doesn't fit it at all. I'd give Ouran High School Host Club for example, I watched it in sub and I couldn't even imagine how they are to translate and convey the words! rofl
so I'd say both are good in a way or another mrgreen

Hmmm...I like subbed since I mostly like the original japanese and I learn bits of Japanese along the way...
