Ellandra finished up her story with a smile - she really did enjoy this job. And she wasn't bad at it, if the constant gathering of children was any proof. Lately, the little ones were one of the few things that could truly bring a smile to her face - though she was trying, and it was getting easier, adjusting to the change in the family was hard for her in the extreme.
She was trying though. Perhaps it would pay off eventually. For now, however, she was keeping herself busy with telling stories of all sorts - and she had many to tell. A childhood with books as her only friends, a career as a writer, both of these had helped her both to memorize and to create stories, although now she didn't think she could write another novel if her life depended on it - but for what she was doing now, her skills were more than up to the task.
There would be a few minutes before she started the next story, bth to give her a bit of a break and to allow any children to leave or come back as they so chose. For the moment, then, she contnted herself with listening t the chatter and focusing her thoughts on her own unborn children, wondering what they would be like, how they would grow up. . . if there would be any siblings for them later on. . . anything not related to the fact that she was -for now at least, maybe forever - a co-wife.

Fao watched the children filter away from his place in the shadows, waiting till they were gone. He'd left the grounds earlier in search of something to cheer Elle up. Lately he felt all he'd been doing was trying to prove that she was whom he really loved and doing his best to make her smile and not be so mopey.
As the last child left, he stepped out of the shadows and walked toward his wife carrying a paper bag. "That was a pretty good story this time, Elle."

Ellandra squeaked, startled by Faolan's sudden appearance, and blushed a little from his compliment. "It wasn't anything special, just a story I remember from when I was a child," she said quietly, while her eyes darted to the paper bag her husband carried and she blinked, curiosity overtaking her. "What's that?" the brunette asked, indicating the bag with a slight motion of her hand.

"Just a wee bit I picked up for you on me outin'," Fao purred, handing the bag over to her. "I wasnae sure what kind you liked, so I tolds them to give me a little of everythin'." He sat down next to her, giving her a playful grin.

"Cake of cheese," Faolan explained, tapping the bag. "I know we donnae have it here in Farstep, so I went an' got you some."

Ellandra couldn't help but giggle a little at Faolan's continued mispronouncing of her favorite dessert's name. "It's cheesecake, Faolan, not "cake of cheese"." But, of course, it inevitably made her smile when he misspoke the name. . . perhaps that's why he did it. Then his earlier words crossed her mind as she tested the weight of the bag. "A little of everything? Faolan, how much cheesecake did you get?"

"Um, a slice o' every kind they had. I went to that coffee shop you like so much," Faolan said, shrugging as if the whole gesture of going way across town to get her favorite dessert from her favorite place hadn't really been that big a deal, like he did it everyday. "La, woman. It be a cake made of cheese. That makes it a cake of cheese in me books, yeah."

Ellandra's eyes widened - she knew exactly how far he'd gone to get that, and just how many different types of cheesecake that particular coffeeshop carried - then her expression lightened a bit and she tilted her head into a playful pout. "All of that? Faolan, are you trying to make me fat?" She was ding her best not to let his accent melt her - or at least not let how much it affected her really show.

Faolan twitched an ear, considering her question. "It be a possibility. I'm gettin' used to you havin' a belly." He leaned over and rested a hand on her tummy, eyes half-closed at the pleasure of feeling his children moving inside her. "I didnae think they'd be kickin' so much. It must be a battle royale in there sometimes."

Ellandra tilted her head. "There's a difference between a baby belly and a fat belly, Faolan," she said quietly, holding onto the bag of cheesecake and just watching her husband.

"Aye, but you got some fat on you from the babies. You're sorta . . . poofy," Fao said, scooting closer and hugging her to him. "It makes you all cute and cuddly."

"P-poofy?" Ellandra yelped, swatting at Faolan a little. "I'm not a balloon or a pillow, Faolan!" She huffed and mock-scowled at him for a moment, before sighing softly and smiling at him, just a little.

Faolan shrugged, not bothered at being smacked. "Maybe it's the weight or that you're carrin' me bairns, but I cannae help bein' even more attracted to you, girl."
