The beige female trod through the wood just outside of her new home. Getting used to the grounds around her. Since joining the Akkiki Chibale pack things had greatly changed for her. She had practically even been claimed by the male she had run into randomly weeks before; Juniper. He was in a little over his head with his ego, but she found him funny really. In time he would soften, especially when they decided to have pups, she couldn't wait for that day, how she longed to finally become a mother.
Larke scented the air, her black and blue gloves paws trod the grassy, soft earth beneath her. The wing markings around her eyes framed her face, she was a slightly petite wolf. She wasn't so small that she was the size of a youth, but she was not as large as most wolves. More than likely she had been the runt of her litter but she could not remember for she had lost her family as a young age and somehow had survived on her own up until now.
A smile spread over her maw, tongue lolling out the side of her mouth from the heat that still lingered from the heat of the day, even under the cool shade of the trees. Today was a good day, she could feel in.

Aara wandered around the forest with little clarity of where she was going. She had wandered around aimlessly completely at a loss as to where she was. The dappled sunlight seemed to tickle her nose and glinted off of her silver-green eyes. Vaguely she smelled someone near but was too busy romping around to notice. Actually she was being quite irresponsible by snapping twigs and rustling leaves in her path, not to mention she had no idea whether or not she was in another’s territory or not. She didn’t remember who or where she was staying with previously, but once she was alone wandering the forest the emptiness she felt around many others dwindled until it was filled with the exhilarating sounds and extravagances that the forests whispered her.

Larka caught scent of the other female and followed it. Strange, it wasn't any of the pack, at least that she could tell for that matter. She still had not been acquainted with most of the wolves in the pack, but had picked up their scents around the pack lands.
Black nose twitching to take in the scent the female trod off, she could hear the leaves and underbrush rustle with the female ahead. Larka almost didn't see her on account of her green coat matching in with the lush green foliage around. The female's ears perked up. "Good Evening..." she said tilting her head. This was a new female to her, though Larka couldn't say she knew too many wolves as it were. She believed she would have remembered this wolf at least though...

Aara stopped in her tracks, the sounds of the forest dwindled with the sound of the other female’s voice. Her paws pranced nervously against the heavily packed earth she turned her head and spotted her against the heavy vegetation, she was lovely in color, a rich crème with markings of black and purple, but that was besides the point, she did not match the trees and natural buzz of the forest. “I… I beg your pardon.” Aara said quietly and observed the evening itself from her point of view. “Yes I suppose it is a nice evening… but days and nights seem to be blended here, there’s almost no in-between. “I do hope I am not disturbing anything by being here… I just get into these reveries at times…” She went on and at once noticed that she was rambling and quickly stopped, after all, who knew who this other female was.

The small female gave a sneezing laugh, "Oh you eventually get used to it here. But there are many places within the wood where the trees thin enough for the true sky to shine through." he said with a smile.
She shook her head, "No, you are just outside the boundaries of my pack, I'm out here wandering them to get my bearings, I only just joined the pack. I understand though, I do quite a but of that myself." she said raising her tail a giving it a wag. She was of no threat to the female, and she didn't find the other to seem like a threat. Just a stray female wondering passed, there was nothing wrong with that. And game was plenty at this time of the year, so there were no worries of that.
"I am Larka, excuse for not introducing myself first." she laughed at herself. Her recent days had been so filled with new things to learn and take it she barely remembered the basic ideals of what to do. Her gloved paws shifted a little bouncing up a down from her excitement. It'd been a while since she had run into a female, most of her encounters entitled males. It was a welcome change in pace.

“Oh that is quite alright!” the femme said cheerily, now sure the other meant no harm. “I am Aara.” Her ears picked up as she lifted her head and sniffed around, no one else was nearby, at least that was a small blessing. She scanned the rest of the forest shifting from foot to foot, wanting desperately to run and romp around. The sun trickling into the forest reminded her of her very own pelt and brought a half smile to her lips. Then she allowed her to think that there were other wolves around these parts, which brought an even larger smile to her face. “what is pack life like? I don’t think I have ever been in one myself…”

"It is nice to meet you Aara." Larka laughed, she liked this she wolf. "I am still new to it, but I am enjoying it very much actually. It's like having a close family who aren't actually related to you. Though most of the pack I would saw does have some relation somewhere. But I lost my pack family when I was young and I was on my own for quite some time until I settled here." he said continued to wag her tail.
She could sense the energy in the other and it made her shift a little herself. "Shall we walk?" she asked tilting her head again. Looking around her new home would certainly be more interesting with another by her side to talk to.

“I would love to walk; I don’t think I have ever had a family, though if I did I don’t remember them.”She tilted her head to the side looking in different directions. “I think I will have to follow you.” She said with a sense of natural happiness. She was giddy with the company but found it difficult to hear the wonderful sounds of the forest and concentrate on the female beside her, but all was well… she would find her way back into the open wood eventually… she always did. She pounced on various things in her path and grinned back at the other wolf.

Larka laughed at the other. "I don't really remember mine, I was small when I lost them." she shrugged, all she hoped was that they were still alive and well, she held no hash feelings for the family she had lost, she had a new one now and mate who needed a little softening, well maybe a lot.
She led Aara through a series of worn paths she had started to pick out, they were probably game paths at one point or just well worn trails often used. Either way everything around was beautiful, even Larka had a hard time keeping her mind on where she was going, but she could easily scent her way home.
"So where do you come from Aara?" she asking leaping after a butterfly. She was still a pup at heart, which was partially why she longed to have a litter, but she knew that would have to wait until Juni had loosened up.

Aara was taken off guard by the other females question, did she come from somewhere? The green female just stared ahead trying to remember, had she a family once, and if she did… how was it she had forgotten everything so thoroughly? Far in the recesses of her memory she saw a large lake, and separate forests on each side of it, the weird thing was, and she was in the middle.
“I think… well I do not really know, but I think I remember being a pup by a large lake, and being swept away… everything else is just blurry, a mix of greens and browns. I often don’t think of the past, because of all this in front of us!” she smiled suddenly and darted behind the other biting her tail playfully.
“TAG!” She said, full of spirit now that the memory had faded from her mind once more. She had the forest before her, a world to explore, who needed remembrance of things from long ago. She had a friend now, a friend that could share in her happiness!

The slight female tilted her head. She remembered her past, but she didn't like to dwell on it much, that much was for sure. Going back to ones den to find your pack family gone, no, she didn't want to remember it.
Nodding Larka had to agree, there was no point to dwell on one's past when the future was in front of them! "I have to agree with you Aara, there is not much point to dwell over the past when so much lies ahead of us." she smiled.
She took to snap at the female for grabbing her tail and took off after her, she was such a puppy at heart. "I'm going to get you for that!" she laughed weaving through the trees after the larger female. Damn her for blending in so much better than Larka did in the wood.

Aara wove in and out of the trees giggling like mad. She heard the tinkling of sound a stream nearby and glided towards the sound. One word that could be used to describe the female is will-o-whisp. Her eyes narrowed as a smell entered her nostrils… it was familiar and yet not. She stopped looking around, the sound of water now very close to her.
Lifting her paw she sniffed it, and looked around, for she had not stepped on anything. The female was now slightly worried, for it didn’t feel right… the forest sounds were quieter, like the world had silenced just for her nose.
“Larka?” she called quietly, now unsure of what was going on… the female lowered her eyes, and crouched low, trying her best not to be seen, but still attempting to find her new friend.

Larka wove after the female, only able to find her because of her silvery markings. She could smell the water and heard the world go quiet. Her ears perked and she came upon Aara. Her silver eyes flickered around, searching out the world around her. Even the cheerful birdsong had stopped. Something was really wrong here and with just the two of them, she wasn't interesting in finding out what is was. Her ears flickered in every direction, tail straight out. They had to go.
"We should go back." she said hackles raising as her senses prickled with precaution. A low growl issued from her throat, as far as she knew there weren't any hunt groups out, and they were still close enough to the pack lands of the Akkiki Chibale that they wouldn't be bothered. "Yes, we should get out of here, something is not right." she said quietly nudging at the other female. Instincts of fight or flight reacting, flight was the best answer.

Aara merely nodded and stuck close to the other female’s side. It was amazing that she had yet to find out exactly what it was that was so familiar, and the curiosity regarding such was unmistakable. The female bore her teeth in a half snarl at the smell and trudged forward, trying her best not to make much noise. The exploration had begun as such fun, but now all she could think of was that damned smell inlayed in her nose. The sounds were so silent that even her soft paw pads seemed to be echoing among the thick undergrowth. Her light green eyes scanned the area before them, searching for what it was that would make that horrid smell. It was then the wind blew through the trees, whispering to the two females as they trekked back down the path they moments before had bounded down.
The whispers were of times long lost, battles won, land taken, it had a beautiful voice… one that could lure another to sleep by simply whispering. Aara found herself distracted by the voices of the forest once more, which made it extremely difficult for her to focus on the way back towards safety.

Larka nudged Aara seeing she was veering off the path. "Aara!" she whined, slowing down to keep pace with the larger female. "Come on, lets back back to near my packlands, we'll be safe there." At least she hoped they would be. She'd heard tell of terrible Reign of Terror pack that boarded them, the last thing she wanted was to run into one of them. The thought made her shiver violently for a moment.
The slight female could almost feel the difference in the feel of the wood as they drew away from the area, the sun becoming warm again and the bird song coming back into life. It was like being deaf and suddenly being able to hear again. It was a relief, she never wanted to feel as she had back there again. Fear was not a pleasant sensation, especially to a wolf.
"I think we're good now." she sighed sitting her back end down and hanging her head. "That was strange..."
