Biting flies and the harsh rays of the sun.

The only companions she would know from now on or ever want to know from now on, seeing as her kind had fallen to weakness.
Dirty, filthy unpure rebels.
All of them.
Rebels against the goddess and her beauty, her power, her GLORY and they would -DARE- to rebel against such a force?
The fools!

Time had taken its toll on the lioness, once sleek, svelt and if you wanted to say it, beautiful, she was now a ragged old husk of a female.
Her fur was dulled, grayed and slightly torn from the old rebel war that split her lands in two.

As her sunken eyes scowered the dunes she couldn't help but let out a long, ragged breath, she hadn't eaten in days and she was already near the point of collapse.

She needed food.

Not these biting flies.

It wasn't often that Ovu found himself out in a space as wide and as open as the desert. It didn't suit him or his needs at all, as there was simply no way he could sneak up on anybody in a place like this. For some reason though, he had come here, and he was about to bump into someone that will have made his journey worth while.

When Ovu spotted the dull red lioness in the distance, he raised a brow. Despite the fact that she was clearly worse for wear, she was very large for a female, and he could tell even from the distance that she was quite muscular. His bloodshot eyes almost lit up as it dawned on him what she must be. "A Firekin." He hissed, his tongue flicking out to dance over his teeth.

This was exactly, if not more, than what he had wanted. Ever since he had heard about the Firekin, he had greatly desired to meet one. What he would do after having met one, he had yet to decide.

The old female didn't see him as much as smell him first off, head tilting back and step faltering as she tested the air with her tongue before she turned in his general direction.
From what she could see it was another lion, possibly a leopard...no, no a lion, a leopard wouldn't be foolish enough to come out this far out into the open without their precious trees.
The thought made her let out a gruff snort before she continued to scrutinise the other further.

This did not smell of the kin.

A rogue probably despite the fact he had the colors and the thought of such an impure lion holding the blessed colors of Finar-si caused her blood to boil.
Almost in an instance all aches and pains were forgotten, slowly tottering towards him at first before she began to bound towards him over the dunes.
Maw agape and yellowed fangs on display as her claws angrily kicked up the sand below her paws.

"GET OUT, ROGUE FILTH!" She spat out furiously as she drew closer.

Ovu raised a brow as the female started bounding towards him. She didn't fear him in the slightest, despite the fact that most found his appearence to be absolutely terrifying. See, this was why he didn't like being out in the open, because it meant that there was no way for him to sneak up on someone and gain the upper hand. Instead, he would just have to fight her head on, if the need arose.

As it stood right now, she didn't show any signs of slowing. Although a fight was exactly what he had wanted, he at least would've liked to have learned more about the Firekin before doing so, so he would just have to do his best to calm the angry Firekin down.

Standing his ground, he allowed her to get within a few feet of him. Ovu was large for a rogue, and very muscular. He was fully capable of fighting her, and he would definatly do so in time. For now though, he would try stroking her ego, to see if that helped at all.

"Furious Firekin, what vexes you so?" His voice was laced with venom, despite the fact that he was trying to be nice. "I have come here in search of the great flaming Goddess Finar'si." He smirked. "I have a dark fire burning within me, and that is what has drawn me here."

As she drew closer she saw fit to continue snarling, swerving around as she began circling him like a vulture and her once dull eyes now burned with yellow fires of hatred for this...this rogue!
His words only briefly stopped her, tail lashing still as she heard him out before she continued to skulk around him in the usual style lionesses would stalk around their prey.

"Don't bother wasting such worthless sugar coated words on me, boy!" She spat angrily, claws drawing more lines in the near bleached sand under her paws.

"Finar-si would not give the time of day for such a wretch like you," She started once more. "True you bare our colors, but your scent only reeks of the world outside where as we would never touch paws with unworthy soils!"

There was almost a hint of madness to this females words, long tendrils of drool now hanging from those sharp jaws of death that snapped their harsh words at him.

"If anything has drawn you here, it is death!"

Atleast she wasn't attacking him at the moment, but there was the distinct sensation that this female was a coiled viper ready to strike at any given second.

This was going to be harder than he had first thought. He was much better at scaring others than he was at calming them down, and since this female wasn't scared of him, he found himself quickly running out of ideas. "The world outside you say?" He replied, a sick grin on his face. "I think you'll find that the only thing you can smell on me is the blood of the innocent." With a large shrug of his shoulders, he motioned in the direction he had come from. "I heard that the Firekin do not like those of strange colours crossing their lands, so I did you a little favour. Would you like to see?"

She weas briefly struck with curiousity, but it was shielded by her fierce reluctance before his words finally sank in.
Innocent blood? What innocent blood was here, par the new cubs and the barely innocent new bloods...had he killed cubs?
She could've cared less if it was a rebel's brat...but still.

A snort rolled from her muzzle and she slowly drew the distance between her paws closer, her defensive slash offensive posture diminishing ever so slightly while she still held the aggrivated fires deep within her eyes.
She admitted.
She was curious.

And it was an excuse to kill him even if he was a traditionalist or some old firekin if he did kill a cub.

Wild blood did no good.

"...Fine, lead the way." Came her gruff answer.

Well, this was working out perfectly. He never would've guessed that the little game he had played out earlier would help him get on the good side of a Firekin. Well, maybe not the good side, but at least it would show her what he's capable of. "Wonderful, walk this way please."

Although he took the lead, the corner of his eye was firmly fixed on the female walking at his side. Any swift movements she made, he would have just enough time to dodge and counter them, providing she wasn't any faster than she had shown before. After a while of walking, something appeared in the distance. They were still in the desert, probably still within Firekin territory, and so Ovu grinned as he considered how pleased the female may be when she realised what was up ahead.

"It's not a sight for the faint of heart you know." He cooed, a wicked grin fixed on his face. "Are you sure your old heart can take what I'm about to show you?" No, maybe it wasn't a good idea to insult the female, but Ovu was just starting to have fun.

The agitation of the svelt lioness showed more then often in her heavy strides against the sand, keeping him at a good metre of distance from him as she held a permanent sneer upon her maw as she followed his lead.

This was a disgrace.
Being cooed so easily into a submissive follow by this...this -rogue-, she supressed a self loathing hiss at her own actions and continued to keep her stride with him. Feeling the heat of the sun above them beat down upon her scar raked back and the foul memories of a past she hadn't yet forgotten.
Damn birds.
Damn all of them.

When something appeared in her line of sight, her ears perked atop her head in an instinctive move as she tried to catch it on the wind.
A scent. A notion of what it could be.
The wind was her enemy in this and quietly she grumbled to herself before the male at her side spoke to her in such a condescending manner and she snarled at him, lashing a clawless swipe for one of his own ears.

"Mind your tongue, boy and lead on before I change my opinion of whether you should still be standing!" She spat venomously.

Yes, it definatly had not been a good idea to annoy her, but Ovu just couldn't help himself. He was so wreckless sometimes, but only because he was so confident in his own abilities to fight off any concequences that may come his way.

As they walked, the thing in the distance got closer and closer. Soon, the thick stench of blood and death touched his nose, and the sound of hundreds of flies buzzing around hit his ears. Hm, decomposition had happened quicker than he had anticipated. What fun.

Once they were close enough, Ovu skipped ahead, his blood-shot eyes dancing as he looked over what he had chosen to show the Firekin. It was a family of lions, who had been mercilessly slaughtered by Ovu. There was a father, a mother and two cubs. Although their coats were now mostly red with blood, colours such as blue and green could be seen. So, they definatly were not Firekin.

"Aren't you pleased?" The sick red and black lion smacked one of the bodies with his paw in order to scare off the feasting flies. It was a truely horrific sight. He had ripped the family to shreds, literally. There were places on the bodies where it looked as though he had taken a chunk out of them. "I have done your kind a favour, have I not?"

With a callous chuckle, Ovu watched the Firekin female for a moment longer, before he suddenly turned and began to quickly walk away. Once he was a fair distance from her, he stopped, and shot her a deadly glare over his shoulder. "You've seen what I can do. If you wish to prove yourself a real warrior, follow me." With that, he broke into a run. He doubted that she would follow, but he could only hope.
