Black tears streamed down her perfectly painted face, her blue eyes filled to the brim with her pain. Her sorrow. It was all so sudden. How could this have happened? Was it something she had done, something she had said. What had made him change his mind. Everything had been going so well, or so she had thought. All those strolls on the beach, hand in hand, getting lost in each others eyes. All the whispered: "I love you" it all meant nothing. How could he have been so cruel to let her believe their love was real. How could he let her believe that she could trust him, trust him so completely to give him everything. As she watched him walk away, something broke inside. A box that was hiding opened up, absorbing all feeling she had. The world in a blink of an eye, became cold, unforgiving and hopeless.

Laughing erupted over the field as Tyler saw his best friend walking towards the team. "Hey hey! You made it! You ready for this? It's the big game." Tyler greeted as he slapped his friend on the back. Laughing back in greeting as John watched the nervous excitement of his best friend. Still laughing "You bet I am, I going to get this games winning goal. Just you watch." Joining the rest of the teams conversation on the game and last nights’ outings. John watched the field fill up with parents, friends and just people with a love of the game. The crowd was giving him an adrenaline rush. He was getting pumped for this game. It was the championship game. They had made it, finally. After two years, the Panthers had made it to the final game. They had become one of the top teams in B.C. It was a good feeling, the whole team was excited for the game. People were filling into the bleachers getting the best seats they could find, with the best view of the field. People were even setting up chairs where they could on the side lines, this was going to be a good game. "John, get your head out of the clouds and focus. We need everyone ready for this game." He growled before turning to the rest of the team for a pep talk. "This is going to be a tough game, but I know we can do it. You all have improved so much. And you all work well with each other, so don't forget to keep your eyes open for teammates. Do your best, and have fun." Walking onto the field and into positions, they waited for the ref to start the game.

Her heart had been broken before, many times really. But how many times must a heart break before you lose all hope. Before the heart turns to stone, before it loses all hope. How can one love so many and not receive any in return? Why had they all left? Why had they all lied? She was such a fool to have believed all there soft promises they whispered in her ear. The gentle caress of their soft, teasing touch. All the gifts, promises and lies. How can she fall for it every time. She sat there thinking it through. Watching the bright blue sky dim, slowly turning to warm blue to oranges, reds, yellows, pinks and purples. She had been in the spot since last night and the whole day. A small bird flew over head chirping as if nothing could be better.
