Sonata was trying to reach for an apple on the tree above her, but wasn't having much luck. It was just far enough out of reach that she couldn't grab it with her teeth, but close enough to the ground that she couldn't fly up and get it. She wished she was more experienced at flying, then she could do that 'hover' thing like her mom and older brother could do. Frowning, she stretched her neck as far as she could... almost, almost... then she felt her balance shift, and tottering on her back legs she fell backwards into a raspberry bush.
Delighted as such a wonderful find, she began to stuff her mouth full of the delicious fruit. Her favorite were cherries, but the cherries had been sparse this year, so she had not gotten many. Flicking an ear, she listened. She had thought she had heard something in the trees surrounding the clearing, but thought nothing of it, her full attention devoted to the sweet fruit hanging before her.

"What the?" muttered Kaidus. The black foal had heard a thud coming from the clearing. The foal shook her head and looked down to where her blue and black wolf companion was. Or used to be. The foal looked around, but side neither hide nor hair of him. She snorted angrily, her temper flaring. "Renji you two timing wolf! GET BACK HERE!" Her voice echoed of the trees, but Renji did not appear. She grumbled and stamped into the clearing.
The scent of raspberries was everywhere. It smelled like someone was hard away at eating them. But Kaidus didn't see anyone in the clearing. Her grey eyes scanned the clearing, and the bushes many times over. There was no one here.
No. Correction, there was someone here. Kai could only see the tip of the other's head, and what looked like feathers. Feathers? Was there a bird in the bush? And why the heck did it matter so much?
"Oi! What the heck are you doin' in a bush?" she called gruffly from her spot in the middle of the clearing. No need to get close if it did turn out to be a bird, or one of those weird demon horses Aunt Corine told her to stay away from.

Sonata didn't bother even to look up as she heard someone calling far away. During the summer she had found that many soquili liked to be in these woods, and right now the delicious taste of raspberries was much more appealing than meeting someone new. Continuing to gorge herself on the delicious berries Sonata sighed in delight. When was the last time she had had something as delicious as raspberries? She couldn't rightly remember, to tell the truth.
Her ears pricked as she heard someone talking on the other side of the bushes, asking why she was in a bush. Curious, Sonata peered through the dense leaves and saw a little black filly with glowing markings on her legs, and bright white eyes. Sonata poked her head out of the bush, and, replying to the other fillies question, said, "There's raspberries in this bush, and they're very good." She offered one to the other foal.

Kaidus wanted to say "Of course there are. You can smell them all over here." but figured that might be just a little too rough. And the filly was offering her a raspberry. I mean, who could turn down an offering of a raspberry? Kaidus gingerly stepped over to the bush and took the berry offered.
"So good... I guess I can see why you're in a bush, then," she said with a nod.

Sonata mentally noted that this new foal seemed a little touchy, and decided to keep her own crazy energy at a low level while around her new friend. She chuckled to herself seeing how gingerly the filly accepted her offering of a raspberry. She was quite a prickly little thing.
"Yes, normally I don't like bushes. They pull at my hair and my wings always end up being covered with leaves."
