My husband and I just recived the calling tonight, to be on the activities commity for our ward.
This is unbelivable and over wheliming, I have never done anything like this before. Usualy I just show up to an activity.
Can anyone give me suggestions as to waht types of activities a ward should have that is fun?
I would greatly appriciate the help.

pot lucks!! (food is tasty!)
games out in parks, when it's warm.
maybe if you have hills near you, a ward sledding trip thingy, complete with hot cocoa!

Anything that gets you put and gets you moving. I don't know how many events I went home hating becasue nothing held my attention. I will capture and torment the person who came up with slide shows about 'where we went on the LDS tour'. Was fun for them to go to the places, not fun for us to sit and watch. Picnics with lots of events, camping, etc... Compititions are great too. Sports, board games, what ever.

I don't know Gwyn but I think that for the next couple of months it will be pretty simple... I mean you have a thanksgiving thing maybe and then a christmas party next month... and then you really don't have to worry about anything until april because no one will notice you not doing anything. Unless you are in a hyperactive ward... or a singles ward... thats even worse. blaugh

*glomps gywn* HI!!! Long time no talk! Um.... well, I'd say things like ward camps, hikes, and games are good. I'd stay away from the potlucks, but that's just because in my ward people go to the potlucks, eat and then leave 5 minutes later. You'd want more interaction I'd think. A service project can be fun too
