He was ******** literally, but he was still ******** regardless of semantics. Not only that, but he had absolutely no idea what to do about it. Nuka had followed his first instinct and had holed himself away in his room, locking it shut, refusing to open up for room service, food or otherwise. He had thought that some peace, quiet and solitude would help him figure out what he had to do to fix the situation, but unfortunately... his mind was insisting on running around his skull like a beheaded chicken.
The impossibility of the situation was not allowing him to think beyond the incoherent 'Ahhhhhh what the ******** hell?!' that resounded in his mind rather insistently, almost like a mantra.
He had no idea how it had happened or how he was going to fix it, but there was no use denying it any more; he was no longer a koshka... he had somehow become a dog. Or something. He'd heard wind of the explosions that had allowed access to the southern part of the continent, and had thus heard of the species that lived there.
One of said species were the Kanus; dog like creatures. Much like koshka were cat like anyhow.
Which was why he was ******** pelt had not changed color, but there was no denying the canine like features he now possessed, as opposed to the feline ones he'd possessed days ago. The change had been gradual, first making him act oddly (... he vaguely remembered feeling the horrible urge of running after a squirrel the other day when he'd been walking behind Ana in the park), and when the physical changes had kicked in, the former koshka had locked himself in his room. one of his ears now flopped over his head, the other alert, making him look comical, even as his tail remain between his legs.
He was also experimenting a horrible need to whine and whimper, though he was doing his best to keep it down. Oh god, oh god, oh GOD what was going on?!

That Nuka was going to be screwed.
Not literally, but he was going to get an earful whenever Ana found out where he'd gotten off to. He was supposed to meet her an hour ago so that she could go into town, and she still hadn't seen hide nor hair of the grumpy fool. First, he starts acting strange, and now he disappears entirely?
The brunette let out an irritated huff as she made her way down the carpeted hall towards the room Nuka had been given, her skirts kicking up a whirl around her from the quick pace she had set, and she barely remembering to pick them up lest she trip. She really didn't want to report the man to her father for failing in his duties, not when she enjoyed him so much, but if he didn't show up for work then she couldn't go anywhere and she certainly was not going to tolerate that. She already disliked this 'babysitting' business enough as it were - she was a grown woman!
She came to halt outside of his door, her bouncy brown curls swirling around her face as she stopped so suddenly. She reached for the door handle without so much as a 'hello' and tried to jerk it open - locked. That meant someone was in there, and most likely that moody grump, Nuka. Why on earth would he be hiding anyway? She frowned and bit into the flesh of her lip, trying to stare holes through the wooden door. Was he in there with a lady, was that why he was late, and why the door was locked?
That simple thought set her temper ablaze, one part out of jealousy no doubt, and another out of him daring to do that when he was supposed to be working. For her. She reached up and banged her balled fist against the door none-too-quietly, a scowl on her otherwise pretty face. "Nuka, you open this door right this instant, I don't care what you're doing in there!"

He yelped.
Nuka was horribly ashamed to notice that he'd actually yelped when the knocks had resounded around the otherwise horribly dark, silent room. Not only that, but the yelp had sounded more like a barked 'yip' of a noise, rather than anything a cat would have made. His hands instantly flew up to cover his maw as his eyes tried to see through the darkness of the room like he'd once been capable of.
He was also trying to weight the chances he had of convincing Ana that he was not there, that the room was empty and had been locked for other reasons. he had no doubt it was her, even before she yelled at him through the door; her scent was rather impossible to confuse, and had he not been so worried panicking, he'd have noticed her coming a mile away (God damned dog nose!). After a couple of seconds he realised that his chances were not good at all, and that if he tempted her, she was likely to go storming off to her father or someone else, and then things were going to get really ugly. He also considered telling her he was sick, but knew that wasn't really going make a different here.
Nuka decided that while he was afraid of what she'd find out, he was slightly more afraid of what would happen if her father got wind of this before he fixed it, "Goddamnit, you're so nosy!" he pushed himself off the floor where he'd been cowering in the darkness (he'd made sure to close windows and turn off the lights) and made his way to the door, creaking it open, "Stop yelling! Stop yelling!" he stuck out a hand and tugged her into the darkness of the room before closing the door shut behind him, locking it for good measure. While it was dark and Ana was a mench... she would have probably noticed something was off about the koshka - he looked bigger, sturdier and stronger in general, even in the darkness. Not only that, but his usually glowing, feline eyes were no where to be seen; his eyes did not glow what so ever, "I think I'm sick. Or something," the words came out in a whimper.

Ana's brows creased into a deep 'v' of confusion as she heard the yelp from inside the room. As far as she was aware, Koshka did not yelp. For a moment she stood there in completely confusion, oblivious to the male on the other side of the door scuffling to get up. Then she decided the only explanation for that yelp was that he must have someone else in there, and her irritation doubled as she crossed her arms and prepared herself to barrage him through the door.
"I don't know who is in there with you, but you better-" she was cut off as the door opened just enough for him to reach out and drag her tiny form through - her skirts making an awful noise as they were squeezed through the tiny space. She stumbled a bit and reached out to grab onto him as she was plunged into the pitch blackness of his room. For a moment, she was only concerned with steadying herself. "What on earth did you do that for?" She muttered, straightening her skirts as she kept one hand on him for balance. Then, she realized the hand on him was laying on a rather different-than-she-remembered figure.
She looked up quickly to him, only to find that there were no eerily cat-like eyes staring back down at her. "Sick?" she repeated after him, taking a step back as she tried to see what little she could through the darkness. He had always been rather looming compared to her, but something about him seemed.. bulkier. "You don't sound sick," she said with a shake of her head, moving closer to look at him in the darkness, eyes squinting in vain. "You look funny, though, at least from what I can see of you in this stupid room." She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest. "Why are the lights out?"

There was very little that could scare Nuka; he was content with fighting anything physical. Anyone or anything that presented itself as an enemy, he was fine with dealing with, even if they were twice his size. However, this problem was nothing he could tackle, and the uncertainty of the situation scared him. He had no idea how to deal with this, or how to fix it, not to mention he had no idea how it had happened, why or what he was going to do IF he didn't manage to fix it.
All in all, it made for one helplessly panicked looking male.
Confusion was adding to his fear when Ana had spoken as he'd dragged her in, "What do you mean? You thought-" a pause, "You thought that I was-" another pause, his brain managing to break fully, the dam that had been holding everything in, breaking, his words flowing out in a rush, "What the ******** sick, and probably dieing, and you thought I was having sex?!" he sounded half hysterical as he paced the room, left and right to release pent up energy (he HAD been hiding for a full day and a night and... everyone knew that dogs needed daily walks - especially mildly wild ones like Nuka), "I wasn't having a roll in the hay, for your information! I'm not even seeing anyone! I don't really- THAT IS BESIDE THE POINT!"
He snapped his head to look at her, even in the darkness, for while he could not see her, he knew she was there, her scent THAT strong (he really hated dogs... he really, really hated dogs), "The lights are out because I didn't want to SEE what was happening to me - Dogs can't see in the dark! And because the darkness calmed me down! Not that it's doing a good job anymore because you're here now!!" he twitched and growled as she mentioned him not sounding sick; it was a different sound from any growling he'd ever done before, this one much more feral and dangerous sounding... almost like a dog's or a wolf's, "Oh, I don't huh? That's because you've not heard me bark yet. Or howl. I can howl now. Do you want to hear?" after the energy was spent in his tirade, Nuka flopped down on the ground, his ears flat against his head and his form hunched over, "I hate dogs."
A pause followed, then he narrowed his eyes, because, oh, he knew her well, "You're going to turn on the lights. Don't you dare laugh. I swear I'll bite you."

She grimaced slightly as he began his initial rant, shouting at her about her assumption that he was having sex. "Well, what else was I supposed to think!" she countered with a huff, moving her arms from being crossed across her chest to boldly propped on her hips - despite the fact that he couldn't see the action in the dark. "For all I knew you could have just picked up some random floozy at a bar and left me all alone when-" she huffed as he cut her off with his rather loud yell of 'that is beside the point', and resigned herself to listening to him instead. She supposed the only thing that was saving her at the moment was the fact that he was so damnably hard headed - it meant he was too blind to see why him having a female here would really bother her.
She narrowed her eyes in the darkness as she tried to watch him pace, listening to the rants that started to flow out of his mouth. What in the hell did all of this have to do with dogs? Barking, and howling? "Nuka, what on earth are you babbling about?" she muttered, only just noticing as he flopped onto the floor. He did know her well though, because even as he accused her of going to turn on the lights, she had already turned in that direction. The coincidence made her smirk, and she tossed a glance over his shoulder. "I'm sure whatever you've done can't be that bad."
Then, she simply fumbled her way across the room (not bothering with looking graceful in the pitch dark when neither of them could see it), and flipped the switch to turn on the light. She supposed she hadn't been ready to greet what was waiting her when she turned around though.
"What on earth happened, Nuka?" she said with a small gasp, eyes widening as she took a few steps in his direction and stopped. She wasn't laughing, nor was she afraid - surprise was just the initial reaction that she seemed to be going for. "You look.. like a dog. What are those things called, the Kanus?" She frowned at him and crossed her arms over her chest as she took a few more steps towards him. "I'm not sure this is even.. possible." She was a reasonable girl - magic was really not something she believed in.

As the brightness of the lights inundated the room, he found himself growling slightly again, then reaching up to rub his eyes; he felt really stupid, in all honesty. He wasn't used to this at all, and he supposed he never would be. Regardless of that, he stopped what he was doing to focus his attention back on her, even as he ran his now non-retractable claws along the wood of the floor.
He wasn't sure what he was expecting her to do once she saw him, but somehow the quiet, almost calm surprise she was showing was surely not it, "I'm a bloody dog. I can't see in the dark and these... these things are driving me nuts!" he lifted his hands to show her his claws, "Then there's the god damned tail! And the nose!" technically, she smelled really, really good, but that was obviously beside the point, and he wasn't even sure she wanted to hear or know that particular piece of information anyhow, so he snapped his maw shut no sooner had he spoken about his nose. For a moment he looked flustered but soon enough covered it up with some more hysterical panic, "Bloody tail has a life of it's own! And I don't think people aren't going to notice if I walk out with you looking like THIS! People are going to notice that, hey, your guard dog's actually a dog and-"
Finally noticing she was advancing on him, he cut his tirade short and took scooted away. For every step she took forward, he moved a bit away, till his back hit the wall behind him, "W-what are you doing?" it wasn't really helping him that he was actually a bit hyper aware of her, his nose working a lot better than it had before and his whole being actually telling him to move forward rather than back.
This was why he hated dogs; stupid beasts were dependant. He couldn't be dependant! "Oh, it's possible, apparently! The other day in the park, I almost ran after this stupid squirr-" a pause as he pressed himself up against the wall, "Can you just stay there? Stay there!" something told him what was going to come next and he wasn't exactly sure if he wanted to find out how his new body would react to her petting his ears, or worse, her trying to comb his new, fluffy tail.

He was kind of pathetic, really, in a sad way. Not because he had turned into a dog, but because of the way he was reacting to it. She supposed if she had turned into something completely other than a Mensch, though, she might be feeling a bit of the same. She only frowned at him as he started to complain about everything that was wrong, looking over the imposing features in question as he mentioned them. "I don't know how to help with any of that, except maybe trimming those claws," for some reason, though, that thought made her smirk. "Don't think you'd like that much, though." Mr. big tough Nuka getting a pedicure? Hardly.
She uncrossed her arms as she took a few more steps towards him, but stopped short as he threw such a fuss. She stood there a few moments, ignoring his question about what she was doing, trying to think over anything they'd done together that was a bit odd. A walk in the park, shopping down town at the market - no, that was all pretty normal. Then it struck her. "I wonder if it had something to do with that gross thing you drank in that little place we were holed up in, hiding from that dirty old Koshka?"
As she let the information slip out, she took a few more slow steps forward, casually picking at her dress as she went and trying to look as innocent as possible. As he asked her to stay where she was though, she huffed and stomped her slippered foot against the bedroom floor. "Quit being such a baby!" Funny thing, calling him a baby when she was so prone to hissy fits today. "You're upset, and I just want to see if I can help, okay?" Dogs like to have their ears scratched, right? She frowned at him and flopped down onto the floor (something little Miss Ana wouldn't do just for anyone), but didn't scoot any closer. It was almost comical, to see her sitting there in a poof of her own dress.

He visibly stiffened at the mention of cutting his claws, "What? WHAT?! I'm not doing that!" he howled back at her, even as she continued to advance on him, step by step. He was sadly already backed up against a corner in the wall, which meant he was kind of ********. Still not in a literal way. Which was... frustrating him, not that he was willing to admit to that any time soon. He'd had a horrible time cooped up with her against him in that stupid dark place when they were hiding from that koshka.
Having her bring up that experience was surely not helping him at all, which was obvious in the way he flinched, then stiffened. That stupid thing he'd drank had never so much as crossed his mind, though now he was kind of glad he had taken it away from Ana and not let her drink it, "Uggghhhh..." the more he thought about it, the more sense it made, and surprisingly, knowing where the problem had originated in, helped calm him down slightly; enough that he was no longer hyper aware of her, "Ugggghhhh!" he repeated for good measure as he lifted his hands and placed them on his face, only to slide them down over his features, "How could things get any worse?" he grumbled, mostly to himself.
As Nuka finally turned his attention back to Ana, it was clear things could indeed get much worse.
Somehow, during the time it had taken him to mourn his situation, she had relocated to his side, and he was left with no further escape route. He startled visibly at her proximity and had he not been propped up against the corner of the wall, he would have likely fallen over. That's when instinct took over though and his tail began to wag mildly over the floor, all on it's own accord; unfortunately (or fortunately, it depended), Nuka was entirely unaware of it, for he was having a horribly, HORRIBLY hard time trying to decide whether he should run out of the room, screaming bloody murder, or if he should give into whatever magnetic attraction was pulling her towards him. As it was, he remain frozen stiff, unable to decide, his eyes wide and still pressed up against the wall.
Despite that, his tail gave him away... something that would have never happened if he'd been a koshka, and had likely been his saving grace all this time.

"Well, then you can quit complaining about it then!" She said with a little huff, scrunching up her nose. Just like him, to complain about something and then throw a fuss about the only option to fix it. Unless they could find some kind of 'drink' (she adamantly refused to call it a potion) like the one in that silly shed, he was stuck this way. "All your grumbling isn't going to make anything better, you know," she didn't understand why he was such a baby - she preferred him much more when he was being gruff and tough with her. Then again, most women didn't like men to act like children, did they?
She found it odd that their situations were so reversed, and as she sat next to him, she decided she didn't quite like it at all. Sure, she liked being able to spar with him verbally, but now he was acting much less brave than she liked. If anyone walked in now, they certainly would have assumed that Ana was the tougher one. He was no good to her if he was just going to sit around and skulk. "Why don't you try to look at the positive side of it, or something?" Anything to make him stop whining.
She shifted to push herself up onto her knees, though it was hard to tell that was even what she did, what with her dress so huge and voluminous. She wasn't sure how mad he was going to get at her for what she was about to do, and for a moment seemed to rethink it - at least right up until she saw his tail wagging. Her eyes shifted down to look at it as soon as the tell-tale 'thud thud thud' reached her ears, and a devilish smirk spread across her lips. That was answer enough for her (and if that was going to continue to happen, she certainly liked this new transformation). With a little scoot forward, she steadied herself with one hand on his arm and reached up with the other despite all his protesting, to scratch behind his ear. Her gaze fell to his face to watch for any sign of what he felt, studying him as she continued her ministrations. "That's not so bad, is it?"

No, it was not 'that bad', it was worse. Much, much worse.
Not only because he had just noticed his tail (treacherous thing!!) had given him away, but because the moment her hand landed on his ears, he felt himself lean forward slightly. He swallowed and his eyes hooded over, his head leaning down till it found her arm and shoulder and simply rested there. His tail had stopped it's thudding and had reduced to a mild, lazy swish over the floor. He looked, for all he was worth, like a content puppy, more than the wolf he had apparently been turned into (for wolf he was - his features strongly resembled one).
He made a soft noise as she scratched away, half between a grumble and a growl, but it wasn't threatening, however, he was making a point of looking at her with now narrowed eyes, as if trying to convince her that despite everything, he wasn't enjoying this. Needless to say, he wasn't really doing a very good job, "Happy now?" even as he grumbled the question out, there was no denying the string of dazed pleasure that slipped out; he went as far as leaning his head to redirect the scratching.
The more she scratched, the harder time he was having; it was apparent he very much wanted to move or do something, but he was refusing to follow through with whatever ideas were crossing his mind, and instead remain firmly planted on the ground, his head still reclined on her. Despite that, he squirmed and again looked at her, but this time he wasn't glaring or glowering; in fact, he looked horribly torn.

She had to admit that she was a little surprise by the reaction she got simply from scratching his ear. Sure, maybe she'd expected a little tail wag, or a foot thump - any of those small little gestures than an actual dog showed when one scratched their ears. She had not expected him to turn into a full-out melted glob of goo in her arms. It was actually quite inconvenient, when one thought about it - big ol' Kanus man leaning on the tiny Mensch girl.
"Ohh, I don't know if happy is the word," she said with a wicked little smile, not missing the glower he was trying to kill her with. Despite his best intentions, however, every other part of his body was reacting in quite the opposite way - even his voice had been laced with the pleasure of the simple ear scratch. "I think you're probably the 'happy' one here, sweetheart." She couldn't miss a bit of teasing, but she did note that even though he was a pool of glowering goo, he was at least no longer frantic and crazy.
She finally smiled and ceased her scratching of his ear, though she brought up her other hand and ran both of hers along his ears casually, this time simply looking at the difference between them and his Koshka ones from before. "Huh," she said softly, tilting her head a little and letting her brown curls flop to the side, "I don't know, I think it suits you." She shifted a little with a small groan from her lips, under her breath, "you're really heavy though, you know?" She seemed happily oblivious to whatever was wrong with him at the moment - it wasn't every day that one got to cuddle a giant doggy, after all.

Fortunately for him, she was probably missing the key fact of the whole ordeal; that the reaction was merely for her. Had someone else reached out to scratch him, it was likely he'd have enjoyed it, yes, but the reaction wouldn't have been nearly as pronounced, "Not really," he told her, but it was obvious that was a lie; he had calmed down entirely, the simple gesture from her having brought him down from whatever frenzy he'd been in before.
Of course, that still left the rather complicated problem in front of him. Nuka still had no idea if he should pull away or lean in entirely (the later might cause her to keel over though). She seemed to take the decision for him, for she stopped scratching him soon enough; he lost no time in picking up his head, frowning down at her. However, he had little to not time to recover, for her hands were on him again, this time rubbing his ears, which he endured as gracefully as he managed (given the fact his tail was still wagging and thus giving away that he either liked her proximity, or her ministrations or... quite possibly, both), "It's not my fault..." the words were grumbled in a response to her telling him he was heavy, "Kanus are a bit bigger than koshka. And stronger,"
She was still... very near however, and he was still horribly, horribly torn, and if she kept tempting him like that, he was going to toss caution to the wind and act out on instinct. Perhaps she'd scare enough to leave him alone, or perhaps she'd scare enough that they'd fire him - either way, the sweet torture would end. The wall was still blocking his movement, and short of pushing her away there was little he could do.
He was probably going to get fired ANYWAYS, taking into account her old man. He should probably just stop trying to run away, "You're obnoxiously close," he growled at her, "Are you going to pull away any time soon, now that you've had your blasted fun?" he was trying to be as rude as possible, hoping she'd pull away... wishing she'd do the oposite.

"Well, that's good, then!" she said with a triumphant smirk. "If you're bigger and stronger now, that means you can take better care of me, doesn't it? Not that you were really doing a bad job before." Other than getting her locked up in a shed for a few hours hiding from a half-crazed Koshka, but that was beside the point she supposed. "Maybe it was just meant to happen eventually, for my sake," she mused, that devilish gleam in her eyes lingering as she continued to run her fingers over his ears.
Still completely oblivious to his discomfort, she huffed lightly at his irritation at her being so close. "You're the one that leaned on me, if I recall," she retorted, ignoring him as she ran her fingers down the sides of his face. It was the same - it was still Nuka - but at the same time, there were differences about it. Small changes that she noticed because she had been spending so much time with him. After a few moments, her smirk and devilish amusement faded away, though she didn't sit back or move away from him - signaling that her change in attitude was certainly not because of his grumpiness.
"Did it hurt?" she asked, almost hesitantly, as her fingers stroked over his fur. Her eyes found his, and for once, there seemed to be a degree of worry there - concern for someone other than herself.

Oh, if looks could kill! Nuka was sure as hell trying to maim her painfully with his glare as she spoke, "S'not all about you, princess," however, even as he grumbled the words, he was taking a moment to try and rationalise. He was no longer a koshka, true, but he could probably carry out his job much easily. That aside, since his species had changed, he was no longer caught up in that stupid war; he'd be an innocent bystander.
Granted, at the same time, he had just lost any chance he might've had of returning home. He'd never wanted his parents' title or money, but the possibility of returning had always been there, if things got really bad. That possibility was no longer there though. Her voice brought him out of his reverie and he mere growled a response at her, squirming restlessly as she continued to rub at his ears; now that he was paying attention at her again, it was getting difficult to swallow around the lump he could feel in his throat, "You're the one that touched me firs-" his words died as her hands lowered to his face, making him first blink in surprise and then frown deeply at her.
She was probably oblivious as to how intimate that single touch of her fingers framing his face felt, so he grit his teeth together and tried, for all he was worth, to remain still.
He noticed she'd asked something, but he hadn't really honestly been paying all that much attention to her voice; his ears twitched and he blinked rapidly. When his eyes met hers, he sucked in a breath and willed his mind to backpeddle in an attempt to figure out what she'd said, but in all honesty, she was making it very difficult to think straight. Not only that, but he was still back up against a corner, with her blocking his only escape route, and short of him pushing her aside, he was trapped like an animal, "No," he finally answered her, though his voice had lowered to a whisper and he was hoping she'd just get up and leave because if she continued like that, he WAS going to push her.... down, not away though. He was trying to warn her with a look, but he wasn't sure he was doing a good job at it.
