Sellion awoke with a gasp to the shocking feeling of frigid cold.
"I'M DYINNNNNNG!" he screamed, eyes still closed. Then he opened his eyes. He was met with the sight of dark gray lining the sky above him, and he stared, jaw dropped in a daze. Droplets of water fell into his mouth and stung his eyes, but he continued to stare and stare and stare...
Then there was a roar of thunder, and Sellion jumped to his feet. He skittered away from his shady sleeping spot under a tree, and ran for cover, wheezing. Rain was pouring from the sky like a thick sheet of cold. There was no escape from it. And after a while of running back and forth, trying to decide where to go, what do to, and where to hide, something bright orange appeared in his line of vision rather close to the tree he had been sleeping by.
"Fire...?" Sellion murmured, squinting through the pouring rain. He shuddered with fear, sucked his emotions in, and trotted up to the "flames".
Oh, wait.
That was a wild dog.
...Damn...

Machu was seeking out his mate, yet again. It was strange that she would disappear from time to time. The dominant male in him continues to tell him to find her, remind her who she is forgetting by leaving the den, and walk her back to her family. What bothered her the most, and above all else, was that he was force to actually do something! And what made this whole this worse ... <******** rain..." his ears flicked. "I am lucky none of the whelps are with me or I would get an ear full when I find Leini..."
The orange wild dog was moving quick but slow for his own normal "searching" pace. If he was really into it, he could possibly outrun a cheetah if there were no turns in teh course, but when it was in teh rain, there was no way he was going to be running around, getting even more dirty .... However, a thought crossed his mind.
Getting dirty would mean Leini would have to clean him which meant more time with his mate.
With a shrug, the dog sprinted toward teh closest tree in a blur. In the distances, he saw something blotchy, unsure of what, he continued on. Hoping it was his mate.

Thunder splashed across the sky and Sellion screamed, instinctively throwing himself to the ground. Thunder roared and echoed over the savanna, reverberating through the trees and rippling over rain puddles.
As Sellion lay still on his belly, face buried in the dirt and paws clutching his head, an odd smell wafted through his nose...He snorted, nose twitching and eyes watering. It smelled so...Strange...Strange and bad. But what could it be? He had woken up, was in the rain, and...What was he doing? Well, he was...Going to sleep. Right? Wait, he was... What was he doing? WELL, THAT DIDN'T MATTER. But this smell...It almost smelled like...
"Wild dog..." he breathed. Then he looked up. Pink eyes were met with bright orange.
Sellion screamed like a girl and stood up, rearing back. But instead of running away, he did something he normally wouldn't when coming face-to-face with a wild dog.
"GOOD DAY!" he screeched stiffly.

Machu frowned, wincing as he pivoted an ear back against his skull. His body was smeared with mud. Yellow eyes glared at this black and pink cheetah, a growl passed his maw.
"Did you have to scream that!?" He barked, growling. If he wasn't ticked off enough that his mate was missing, he was working, he was muddy, and he probably just blew off an ear drum due to this idiotic cheetah for screaming. And beyond that, it worked just splendid with the thunder.
Growling, "What is so good about today anyway? It's raining and storming out. We're both bloody wet and dirty and you seem so giddy about it!" Machu looked around and saw no female. If it were not for this rain it would be a lot easier to find his mate, what was even more annoying was that he came out here for nothing.
Annoyance wrapped him in its deadly embrace and he was ready to take it out on someone.
"So who the hell are you? You do know that I can kill you, right?"
Not that he would.

The angry growls, barks, shouts and questions were ringing in the black and pink cheetahs ears. But it wasn't a scared sort of ring; it was a delightful ringing...
Coat the color of burning embers, eyes like the tips of flames, and an evil-sounding voice...Perhaps this wild dog was...
A demon?
A grin twitched across Sellion's face and a light flickered in his pink eyes.
"I am Sellion." he greeted, sweeping down into a bow. When he stood up again, he looked positively giddy. "YOU WOULD KILL ME?" he squeaked happily. The very thought that a demon had just threatened his life...was...SPLENDID. JUST SPLENDID.

"Name's Machu... but..." he backed away from the cheetah who seemed a little too cheerful. If he had a mate, she better have some control of him or he might just drive her up a tree and die there. He was half tempted to just climb this tree and hope lightning struck, but he had to consider his family.
"Alright, will you stop it? This yelling is going to make me go deaf!" He growled, prowling around the tree, looking out into the distance, hoping to find his mate, hoping her blotchy body would stick out against the dark grey atmosphere and rain.
I just hope she is safe...
Circling back to the tree, he looked at the cheetah again. "Must you scream? You do realize that we wild dogs have a hearing level much higher than you cheetahs? And our nose are a lot stronger and what is strong is your odor..."
This cheetah was a new smell to him and he certainly did not like it. Now when he meets a cheetah and smell their scent, it would bring him back to this moment to this cheetah and Sellion would be right there.
Great.
"Grrr... anyone, have you seen a female wild dog around here?"

Unfortunately for the wild dog, Sellion didn't just smell like cheetah. He was dirty, didn't bathe (what was a bath, anyway?) had dead bugs in his hair, his nails were too long and he was a rough sleeper, meaning he had quite a good bit of rolling around while he slept. The rain was doing a good job cleaning him up somewhat, but it would take a lot to get that cheetah really clean...
Sellion giggled and sat down, not minding the endless reprimands he was getting. The rain was becoming lighter with the passing moments, and the dark clouds were rolling away fast, though some still remained present in the sky. The black and pink cheetah blinked water out of his eyes repeatedly, not seeming to understand that no matter how much he blinked, whatever water he got out would just be replaced.
"Noooo~," he drawled. Then he tilted his head and blinked. "Unless you are a female wild dog?" After wording that question, he promptly exploded into laughter.
HE HAD MADE A JOKE. HE WAS SO FUNNY! He must've been making a good impression on the orange demon for SURE!
World domination was getting closer and closer...He could SMELL it...

Machu growled and snapped his jaws at him. Mocking him! To mistaken a big, strong, muscular dog like him to be a female was an absolute mockery! Machu was so tempted to jump at him, kill him, and take him back for dinner for the family. It would mean less work for him and one less raving, lunatic in this world. What crazy cat sired this thing?
Whoever it was, also deserved to be taken down too.
"You best hold your tongue if you wish to see the light of day again."
Machu scoffed, flicking a water soaked tail at the cheetah and began to move around the tree some more. The rain was lightening and that means that he could spot Leini better. Just had to find a small sign of her.
Talking to this cheetah was going to drive him insane.
Talking to this cheetah was going to kill him.
"You are lucky this is the only tree for miles, freak. And I would bet I am the only female who would ever get this close to you."

Sellion bit his tongue, and held it hard in between his teeth. He grinned, his tongue sticking out between his pearly whites, and let his tail swish left and right in the rain water.
"Dhy en I lucky?" Sellion asked, exploding into another giggle fit at how he sounded talking while biting his tongue.
There was a deep rumble of thunder in the far distance, and a small flash of lightning. The clouds were a much lighter gray, and the rain was dropping evenly instead of sweeping down over the land. Sellion stared at the spot of sun in the clouds, thinking it was strange how it looked all...fuzzy and misty...
"Thunnnnn..." Sellion said through his teeth, staring.

"You are an adult, right? How about you talk like one. Let go of your tongue and talk. If you are not going to talk, then bite on it..." Secretly, he hoped he did bite hard enough to bleed. Oh how Machu could be so terrible when annoyed. Curiously, he wondered if Leini has seen such a side of him. The dog moved back toward the cheetah, looking him up and down.
Deep chested. Long, lanky legs. Long, thin tail. Thin and narrow body. A creature built for speed.
"Pfft... could totally outrun you if I wanted too..." he whispered to himself as he turned back around, his tail swishing behind him.
The sun shown through the dark clouds, piercing the darkness and the moist air that embraced their lungs. Warming their souls with its brilliant light. Now... Now he could go off and find Leini, but it was still drizzling.
The search must wait a little longer or else he would get sick and what point would finding Leini if he was going to just die sick.

The words and observations of the wild dog were going completely unnoticed by Sellion. He was too busy looking at the sun. Though covered by clouds, the sun was still a powerful enemy of the eyes. One should never stare at it for too long, no matter what the circumstances.
But Sellion didn't know this.
Of course, even if he did, there was no telling whether or not he would even remember.
As the clouds finally slipped off the sun, unveiling it entirely in all its bright, flaming glory, Sellion found his eyes were stuck to it. Bright light infiltrated his sockets and seeped into his brain, but he kept on looking and looking. The rain stopped, so it was no longer stinging his eyes, and the cheetah kept on looking and looking.
"Thunnnnn..." he hissed, still holding onto his tongue.
Then he fell onto his back and passed out.

Machu rolled his eyes and looked at the sky. The sun was coming and teh sky was parting. With a second glance at the feline, he scoffed. Shaking himself of water, he took quick glances around. Time to make a quick get away and find Leini.
"See you around. That way, my kids will have food."
Digging in his paws, the orange male sped off into the savanna, far away from the raving lunatic.
