Mana Tsubaki Vice Captain

Marineford is the main headquarters of the Marines. It is where Fleet Admiral Sengoku and the three Admirals reside, along with many Vice Admirals and lower officers when they aren't assigned to another base. The Marine HQ is one of the three great powers, alongside the Shichibukai and the Yonkou. It is situated near the Sabaody Archipelago, and lies directly next to Mariejois on the Red Line. The only safe way to reach here is through the Gates of Justice.

Outside Marinford a small ice floe maintained itself. If one looked closely enough the observer would be able to see that a small umbrella poked out of the flat top next to the chair, currently occupied with a shirtless, dark-skinned, tattooed man with a cape under him. The bars of a Vice-Admiral rested on the shoulder of the jacket-cape. A path of ice connected the iceberg to the mainland, and across this slightly concave surface a messenger slipped and slid. "Vice-Admiral Kravinoff! We've received word that one of the Shichibukai has accepted the... uh... 'invitation' that you sent to him, sir." The man nodded and got up. "Thank you, Private. You may leave." He sank into the ice and a moment later rose out of it again, half a mile away at the mainland. The sand beneath his sandals froze solid as he walked towards Marinford. He spoke into the black Dendenmushi on his wrist. "Vice-Admiral Sergei Dunstovn Kravinoff to Marinford, confirmation code ****-*****-****, requesting confirmation message to be sent to Royal Shichibukai Matsu Kamaico." A voice issued from the black wrist-mounted snail, and the Vice-Admiral nodded, then started walking out to sea, his feet freezing the water as he went. His direction was on a straight bearing for the Grand Line, that god-awful, hot as Hell base that he'd visited once. Hopefully his old playmate would have the good sense to not greet him as he'd done last time.
Fire and Ice...
Childhood friends...
Walking across the frozen waves, with Marinford slowly getting smaller in the distance, Vice-Admiral Kravinoff laughed at the irony.

As the gates to HQ parted open for a familiar set of colors, Myra watched with familiarity as they entered the base. "Now what do those old geezers want now?" ______
"Captain Olejo," spoke the Fleet Admiral, "Good to see you."
"Likewise."
They were seperated by a paper door, inked with beautiful caligraphy. As Myra stood on one side, the Fleet Admiral stood on the other. A pair of guards stood watch on either side of Myra as they spoke.
"Have you seen the recent news?" Myra's eyebrow raised at this.
"News?"
"Yes. Regrettably, it has been found that the CP9, I'm sure you're familiar," Myra nodded to this, "Have been found guilty of treason by their captain." This made Myra's eyes widen. Treason?
"Why treason sir?"
"That is irrelevant," he snapped, "However, the abilities of the said assassins have been found too dangerous for further use. Therefore, we have chosen to ban the use of Rokushiki."
Myra listened gravely. He seemed snappy at her simple question, and even more grave with the new laws.
"I suppose I'll just do without it," she shrugged. "Well if that's all-"
"I'm afraid you won't be leaving."
Suddenly, Myra was knocked to the ground. Gasping as the breath was knocked out of her, she made to get up, only to be stopped by the guard's swords.
"Any and all," the Admiral continued coldly, "Of those with the abilities of Rokushiki have been found as a threat. So from now on, you're to be imprisoned here indefinitely." Myra wheezed angrily from her place on the ground.
"So Munsehr-"
"Will suffer the same fate." The Admiral continued. "He's to arrive shortly after you...and when he does arrive, we'll see to it that he shares an adjacent cell."
"You-"
Myra was cut off as one of the guards knocked her out. As darkness swallowed her vision, she wished that somehow, somehow...she could do something...

The gates opened as Johann's one-man ship sailed through. He stayed at the helm, impassive as he was led to Fleet Admiral Sengoku's office. He bowed as he entered. "Fleet Admiral Sengoku-dono. I await your ord-" The butt of a spear hit him on the back of the head, shattering as it did. He looked up at the Fleet Admiral and back at the men, who themselves were looking at the shattered spear haft. "That was not very nice, Dumnkopf." The next, and the last, thing that the unfortunate guard looked at was the finger sticking out of his chest. "I object not to the attack, sir, but to the cowardice." The next thing Johann felt was a sensation that his entire body had just gone plip, and he found himself in the same position he'd assumed in the Fleet Admirals office, but this time he was within a cell, Myra plainly visible through the bars, her hands clasped between her knees and her eyes on the floor. "I intend to figure out later how that just happened. First, though, I assume that you have already attempted escape?"

"Escape?" Myra choked out weakly, "I guess you could say that."
With a shuddering wrench, she keeled over until her forehead was pressed against the dirty floor, a trickle of blood escaping from the corner of her mouth, "I'd hoped one of my boys could have given you a warning quick enough...but damn." she looked at her hands, bound in chains, "Those guards'll rough you up pretty bad."

Johann nodded. "He did in fact warn me, but had I disobeyed I would have had the entirety of the Marines at my throat. Now I am safely out of the picture, and can escape with no trouble. You there! Guard!"
The guard perked up and walked over. "Yes?"
"What is your rank, Marine?"
The guard saluted. "Ensign Banmung, sir. Only... Plese don't tell the boss that I saluted you. You're supposed to be prisoners."
Johann's oversized scalpel was at the man's throat, pushing him up against the far wall before the man could blink. Johann's face-splitting grin was back. "Let me put it this way, Ensign. While Sengoku-chan may be your superior officer, he can't visit a retribution as immediate as I can should you fail to release these doors for both myself and the good Captain here." He waited, and was unpleasantly surprised when the guard sneered and slit his own throat. There was another sensation that his body had gone plip, and by the look on Myra's face she'd felt it, too. His surroundings this time were a bit more relaxed, though as compared to the ones they'd found themselves in previously this wasn't a major achievement. In this case, they were within what looked like a solid steel box with a single line of holes across the ceiling for air exchange. The room was well-lit, and a table was set in front of them with a small sushi selection. Before them was the sitting form of Kurobachi, one of the three Admirals. Johann's mouth fell open, and he started to voice a question when Kurobachi held up a silencing finger. "Hello, Commodores. Stay calm, please. All will be explained in time."

Myra shuddered in pain again, still chained, at her place on the floor. She probably shouldn't have tried Shigan on those swordsman during her attempted escape. Maybe then they would have spared her ribs and organs from that last kick.
"Just what do you want Kurobachi?" Myra asked with a pained grunt, "The two of us have hardly caused you problems."

Kurobachi smiled. "Commodore, and yes, I am quite serious about that title, you have no idea how many problems you have caused me. However, the explanation will have to wait, as it seems that your fellow inmate is about to burst. You can ask your question now, Munsehr." Johann opened his mouth, then shut it, considering something. "I merely wish to know, Admiral, why it is that you have chosen to bring miss Olejo into this as well. I believe I made it quite clear when you approached me that I would only join under a proviso that allowed my former friends and comrades to be left well out of it." Kurobachi nodded, and touched the table. There was a brief moment where it seemed as if the table had gone plip, and it crumbled to dust. "I do hate those tables. They're entirely too high up. As for your question, Munsehr, you were incarcerated. We couldn't very well break you out with my ability without Olejo noticing your sudden disappearance. Plus the plip feeling that people tell me occurs when I pause their personal time is extremely difficult to explain away." Johann nodded, then tapped what was left of the table in an extremely quick pattern. Kurobachi rapped out a woodpecker's tattoo on the floor, then they both nodded. "I think we can agree on that point, if on nothing else."
"True. Her skills will be useful in the rebellion."

Johann started to speak, but Kurobachi held up a hand. "Please, allow me." He turned to Myra. "Even within the Marines there are those who see the irrationality of the actions of the World Government. Those higher up on the chain in particular see more things that make no sense. So we who see the chaos have decided to quietly affect a change in positioning. The Marines have grown too large, too powerful, and entirely too corrupted at the higher levels, licensing the Shichibukai and Yonkou, and creating the Supernovas." Johann spoke the last bit of the explanation, spoken in a voice that suggested it was more of a memorized litany. "We believe it is time the Marines and World Government were eliminated." He saw the look on Myra's face, and felt a bit of an explanation was in order. "I joined something like ten years ago. Kurobachi-san was just starting out as a fledgling revolutionary, and I provided some... assistance in his instruction on the subject of living outside the law. If you feel that you wish to join, we can assist. IF you don't, you'll never hear from us again." And then, because there are conventions stronger than mere physics, the remains of the table collapsed further in on themselves, releasing a wisp of smoke.

The suddenness of this new information was like a slap in the face to Myra. Revoluntionaries?
"You mean like Monkey D. Dragon's Revolutionaries?" she gasped. She could use a hand with those broken ribs right about now. "But how...won't Sengoku notice two of his prisoners missing? Especially from one of the top prisons in the world no doubt."

Kurobachi and Johann spoke at the same time. "Missing?" They looked at each other and exchanged smirks. "I'll let you explain." Kurobachi nodded. "You won't be noticed as missing because, in matter of fact, you aren't missing. Those who join us do not give up their old identities like Dragon's men, but instead continue their old lives as if nothing had changed. My abilities allow me to place this room outside Time for limited periods of relativistic temporal passage. It helps to think of Time as a river and this room as a mangrove thicket. You'll be returned to your cells once this conversation concludes, and I've no doubt that with your current abilities that you'll be able to escape. Unfortunately, that's all the time I can create, so we'll have to end here. Goodbye, Commodore Olejo, and goodbye 8-1, Arzt-Krieger." There was a sensation that their bodies had gone plip, and they were sitting in their cells again, the man that had slit his throat still falling to the ground.

Myra was dumbfounded as she flopped to the ground once more. And landed with a painful bump. "Ow," she said shortly, cradling her ribs. Then she looked over at Johann with an exasperated sigh.
"You know, for a doctor you haven't been doing your share of helping around here."

Johann shrugged. "I still have my scalpel-spear, but they've taken everything else of mine. No equipment means no medical aid, and the fact that we're in separate cells doesn't help, you know. If I had learned how to use the other Rokushiki techniques at the same time as Tekkai Kenpo I could break us out of here, but Jyabura-dono never showed me that part of his technique."
