She had left the lands not too long ago, on a quest to gather herbs. She was following proudly in her father’s footsteps, becoming a healer (or Poza, in the Kusini terms). She remembered her father speaking of a specific plant that soothed the wounds of an injured. This was her quest today, to find the plant, and bring it back to her father’s work den so he could teach her more about it.
Citka headed north, remembering her father speaking about her brother who had left the pride to become a healer on his own. He said that Koki looked a lot like Citka. Maybe one day she would meet her brother while traveling.
Her dual colored eyes focused on the path ahead of her. It would be a long journey.

Majivu couldn't really remember when he had left, was it one or two moons ago? He shook his head, it didn't matter too much, he was on a mission and would complete it no matter how long it too. After all he had much to find still. He hadn't even gather one feather, which was rather disappointing actually. But he couldn't be bothered with such things. After all it was mostly his fault, he tended to get a bit distracted, but he figured as long as he didn't spend too much time away he would be fine.
Even now he was distracted, laying beneath a tree on his back, talking to the tree actually. He had grown up with the idea that he and his siblings had been blessed by the elements and as such he could talk to plants. Now whether this was true or not was up for debate but still he talked to the tree.
"I don't understand it, shouldn't I be happy that the engament is cancelled?"
The female trudged along. She didn’t like traveling all that much, she much less would rather be home with her brothers and sisters, as well as her twin Koda. It was hard to be gone away from her best friend, as they were always together. When they were little, she remembered wanting to rule the world of bugs with Koda. Now that she was older, the idea was comical.
Her attention turned towards another speaking. That was a perk to traveling though. She would get to meet new beings! She headed towards the sound of the voice, spotting a large gray lion lounging near a tree. Was he…talking to it? Citka tilted her head, listening to the conversation between the lion and the flora.

"I mean I was so sure I hated her, y'know?" He asked the tree rolling over to his belly to prop himself up so he could 'hear' the tree better. "What do you mean?" He asked jerking back, just what was this tree suggesting? "I don't like her like that!" He declared shaking his head and looking away. He was embarrassed, was he really that easy to read?
But he didn't like Cadenza like that, they were only going to be mates because it had been arranged. Now that he didn't have to get 'married' to her, he was a free man. Which is what he wanted right. "I don't get females, not one bit." He sighed
Wow…what a strange guy…. Citka thought to herself, but smiled none-the-less. Her parents always taught her never to judge a book by its cover, and Mr. Tree-Talker here was no exception to that, even if she believed that this male had lost his mind ever so slightly. When he finished speaking, she waited a moment. Does she talk, greet the male? Or does she walk away…? After all, he was in the middle of a conversation.
“There’s not that much to understand about us you know,” Citka said with a grin. “Normally we are very playful!” She walked over to the male, sitting just before him, her bi-colored eyes focusing. “But…there is the exception of some of us who want to rule the world of bugs…” and as Koda would say, ‘Pine nuts too!’ but she didn’t mention that. Obviously, her last comment was meant as a joke.

He sat up quickly as a female's voice spoke to him. In a panic he spun in a circle before he actually saw her. "Ah...uh...How long have you been standing there?" He asked thankful that he couldn't blush, not that he didn't feel the heat rise up to his features. "Who are you?"
He was raised to be much politer than he was acting but she had snuck up on him, startled him. Besides she had caught him talking to the trees again, something he hadn't done since they left the oasis. He swore, back in Tianxia, that he could hear the whispers of the plants, trying to get him to talk to them, but he had stood fast and resisted. Why had he given in now? "You want to rule the world with bugs?" He asked confused by her last sentence, was she talking of herself or of someone else?
“Not too long,” Citka had replied, giving the lion a little wink. “Just overheard you saying you don’t get females is all.” Since she /was/ of female-orientation, she just had to speak up. When he asked who she was, she was taking aback.
“How rude of me. My name is Citka, daughter of Kenai and Ayo of the Kusini’Mwezi lands,” she didn’t know if he had heard of her pridelands, but she said them anyways. Who knew, with as many members who came and went, it was hard not to know about the ever growing lands.
“I’m a healer!” she stated proudly. “…Or well…a healer in training that is.”
She shrugged at his next question. “It was a cub-thing me and my twin wanted to do since we were younger. As all cubs think strangely of things, that is what we wanted. I realize it’s not a possibility anymore, but hey! One can dream, right?” she giggled.

"Oh," he replied suddenly relieved, she hadn't heard his whole little story, good. Yes, he was fine with a tree knowing, they didn't talk too much after all and only some people could understand them and they were good at keeping secrets. Lions and other moving creatures on the other hand...well he was never sure who he should trust.
"Citka," He repeated dipping his head. "My name is Majivu, I'm the son of Zagaa'Tamanio of Tianxia." He told her using the same format she had. Of course his was a little different. He didn't know his father's name, he wasn't even sure if his mother knew his fathers name. They didn't speak of him. He was forbidden territory. "What's a healer doing out on their own?"
He chuckled at her explanation, it made sense now. "Everyone is allowed to dream, how hard you work decides how close you come to achieving said dream."
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Majivu.” She had not heard of the Tianxia lands…maybe in her travels she would come near it…that is, if she was heading in the right direction.
“Oh! Well, my father—who is the head healer of my pride, was telling me about this one plant that helped soothe injuries. Kind of like a…numbing agent or something. However, he hadn’t any to show me, so he was gonna go out on his own to get it. I was like – ‘No dad! Since I wanna be a poza too, I should go!’ so…after him describing the plant to me, here I am!” Citka stated quite proudly. One thing about the female (if Majivu hadn’t noticed) she was quite a bubbly girl, with always something to say.
“What’s your story? How come your out here by yourself?” She didn’t mention the ‘and talking to the trees too,’ part.

"It's nice to meet you as well," he replied with a broad smile. His manners were kicking into gear, he couldn't get the image of his mother's disapproving stare out of his head. "What's the plant look like, maybe I could help you find it?" He offered figuring it wouldn't hurt, besides she seemed to be alone, which probably wasn't the best idea for a pretty female like herself. She hardly looked like a fighter, so if she got into a situation where she might need to fight, well it wouldn't end prettily.
"I've been out here by myself for a while, well not actually here but you know what I mean," he began shrugging. "I'm doing my trials, where I prove that I'm worthy of being heir. I'm looking to meet the four gods of the elements," he told her proudly puffing up his chest.
“Well…it kind of looks like a regular plant, but it grows little white flowers on it. The stem is really long and thin, and kind of has long flimsy leaves on it as well.” So she wasn’t the best when it came to describing thing, but her father said ‘You’ll know it when you see it.’. “I guess where it grows is the only plant that looks like this,” Citka explained.
“You’re an heir? Like…you mean a prince? Royalty?” She was stunned! She was related to royal bloodlines, but was never actually given the title of Princess. Her aunt was actually the queen of the lands.
“Oh, that sounds like fun! We don’t have any kind of trials in my pride…but I think they would be fun!” If she wanted to, she could think /this/ was a trial. “Have you met any of the gods yet?”

"Hm," he mused as he thought about the plant that she was trying to describe to him. It didn't sound like anything that he had seen or heard of. He tapped his chin with his paw. "I'm sorry ma'am, haven't seen anything like that before." He shook his head, he had been a lot of places but apparently not the place that had the plant she was looking for. "Did your father tell you about the kind of environment it grows in?" Maybe he could help there, it was worth a shot.
"I'm hoping to be the heir, I'm not a prince, well in a sense I am," he sighed. "I'm techincally a Duke, one of the Lady of the Southern House of Tianxia. The pride is divided into five houses. East, West, North, South and the Central house." He paused to let the information proccess. "The central house has the princes and princesses while the other four houses have dukes and duchesses," he explained with a firm nod.
"This trial was more of my own chosing actually."
If lions could blush, she would be when he called her m’am. “Please, call me Citka,” she giggled.
“…No…he just said to head North…Wait, I remember him mentioning something about the desert…Like…to avoid the desert because there were hostile lions there, but the plant would be found near there… So I guess they grow in a hotter climate?” She offered.
“Oh…we don’t have Dukes or Duchesses,” she wasn’t sure if she had ever heard of the term before to be honest. Citka assumed it must’ve been important anyways, if he was an heir. Not everyone got the title bestowed upon them. “That sounds interesting…your pride setup that is. It’s like…five different prides in one!”

"Cikta it is then," he replied with a quick dip of his head. When she meantioned the desert he couldn't help but shudder. There was so much sand, he just couldn't seem to get rid of all of it. "I would listen to your father, be wary, not every creature you meet is a friendly one." He himself was an example of that, not that he was mean but he was the result of a situation his mother kept silent about. "Maybe try the jungle? It's not too far from the desert and the climate is pretty warm, humid as well." He shrugged, he wasn't entirely sure but he figured it couldn't hurt.
"Of course I'm not actually positive but it's a thought?" He laughed lightly before the topic returned to Tianxia, he nodded. "Pretty much actually, each lord and lady can take in their own members without needing to consult the emperor or empress."
“I will, I trust what he has to stay, especially since he has been doing it for a while!” She said with a smile. “I realize not every animal other there is as friendly the ones you grow up with too…” there was a slight nod at the end of that sentence. It was a shame too, that not everyone could get along for whatever reason. Then there would be more peace in this world…but that would also mean she would be out of a job, as peace meant no wars or fights, and no wars and fights meant no injured.
“It’s a good thought; I think I’ll try that. The jungles are just....north of here right?” She looked to the North. It looked the same in all directions, so she couldn’t tell it was there just by sight alone.
“Interesting…” Citka thought, back onto the pride information.

"I am sure that your father is very wise in the art of healing," he replied with a nod. It made sense to him, after all experience came with practice and more often than not practice took a great deal of time. He himself had a great deal to go before he was ready of the title he hoped to attain some day. Otherwise he wouldn't be on the quest in the first place, however a part of him had always wanted to venture out on his own.
Besides being away from home and the people he knew gave him the chance to think more clearly and to learn more about something perhaps more important than Tianxia. Himself.
He pulled himself away from his thoughts as she started to speak once more. "Ah!Er...yes I do believe that you are right..." he paused, scrunching his brow as if he had something a bit too heavy on him mind. "Would you care for an escort?"
Citka tilted her head just slightly. “Hmm…” she thought for a moment. The look that he just gave made her frown just slightly before she reacted. “Sure! Of course…that is if you want to go…” she trailed off. Her father didn’t give her any obligations about traveling with others. If Koda had been into the healing sport, she would have asked him right in a heartbeat, but the fact of the matter was as both the twins grew older, so did their personalities. The two identical lions would only have their looks in common and that was it.
She had to ask however, “is…is there something bothering you?”

"Well I cannot very well let a pretty lady such as yourself venture into a potentially dangerous area without an escort," he remarked cracking a lopsided grin. "I do not think that my mother would approve," he shook his head with a soft chuckle. "I can picture it now, her scolding me, especially if something happened to you," he sighed trying to push the image from his head.
At her question he shook his head no. "Ah, no, not really," he replied with a shrug, he didn't feel the need to bother her with things of unimportance. "I think I just realized how hard it is to be on your own, without the support of your family right behind you." he explained.
If lions could blush, the female would be a tinge of pink from his words ‘beautiful’. “Aww, well then, we wouldn’t want that happening now would we?” She gave a grin, nudging the male slightly before walking towards the north in a bouncy manner, but stopped at his answer. She turned her dual gaze back towards him, giving him a look of understanding.
“As my parents always said to me when I was younger: ‘times may be tough at the most inconvenient of times, but just remember one thing---there is always something better waiting to emerge right as the sun glides over the horizon.’ I know, corny advice, but hey! It works!” the female smiled. “Just think, this path without your family is your tough time, but something big---something great is just waiting to emerge for you.”

"Exactly, a disapproving mother can prove to be a frightening one at times," he mused chuckling at the thought of his mother angry. He had never seen her actually be angry, he had been scolded but never with harsh tones which seemed surprising considering his mother's history, or what he knew of it at least. Perhaps if he actually knew then he would understand. Anger could be quite the dangerous thing.
"I can only hope that your parents are correct," he told her trotting behind. "One must carve their own path or be swallowed by anothers."
