Dynasty Warrior 6 empiresReleased: May '09 System: x-box 360/PS3 Player(s): 1-2 Player(s) Story: Empires is more of a fighting and strategy game.
Choose your character and fight to reunite china under one ruler bringing peace to the land.
Gameplay:Empire Mode:Choose from many characters and choose if you wish to be a officer or ruler and play during one of the few time periods provided.
When you start after choosing your character you're taken to a main menu where you can choose what you'd like to do.
<Character Creation/Edit Mode:Create a character. Choose from Gender/Height (body size and height)/Clothes/Voice/Weapon Style (choose from original character styles) These characters can be used in Empire mode!
Battle System: Battle's are the same as before. You play as a character and you run around completing missions and assignments. Now if you have officers you can give them orders as well. You can also defect from your army while in battle. By aiding other officers in battle when they request for help you also increase their liking for you and your chance to be friends with them.
Sometimes other officers/generals will send reinforcements to you. Rate: 8/10
Bad Sides:
Graphics weren't as great as can be. Personally the water didn't look that great. I've seen games do even more realistic water. AI's for some enemies weren't great either. Some characters they have looked much better in the older series than in the current one. Some characters still have OK or bad weapons and others were still duplicates! Fighting moves aren't creative.
Good Sides:
First...Zhang he has his claws back! Thankfully. But other bad characters like SunShangXiang, Zhao Yun, Diao Zhan, Zhen Ji, Ma Chao ect...they're all still stuck with horrible weapons and some are still dupplicates of one another. Character designs and costumes are just taken from DW6 (which is OK). They brought back some characters but others are still missing which were popular before. Like Da Qiao or Jiang Wei!
Swimming was faster and not so annoying as well.
Love the Empire layout Strategy game style idea.
My Final Rating: It was defiantly worth the buy. Though it still has its downsides, Empires is very entertaining when you're playing a character and trying to do missions and more. The idea was defiantly a good one. What Koei should do is bring back old characters. Change a few things here and there and update their graphics. Allow you the choice of choosing what weapon you want to choose weather old or new weapon style or just change a few characters back to their old weapons.

How much does the game cost?
I think I rented a DW game once and when I started the game I was like "What the....?!" Had no clue what I was doing-just rode around with my army and gave random orders. lol That'll teach me to read the little booklet that comes with the game.....since I tend to try and jump into a game.

I saw this when Gaia were advertising it and it looekd awesome. I think i'll have to give it a go when (if) we eventually get a ps3 biggrin

Mainly this, elder scrolls oblivion, a dbz fighting game, kingdom hearts 3, the new prince of persia - stuff like that

They cut the price b/c its like another part to Dynasty warrior 6 although completely different. heart

Actually-I've had the PS3 since Christmas.....heheh. But didn't get a game for it until now ((Sacred 2: Fallen Angel)) since I was in school and had Tales of the Abyss for my PS2 still to play. Still mad they didn't make the PS3 compatible with PS2 games.... stare Only $40? I think I could managed that.....I have $80+ dollars in my coin jar. I guess I'll be making a visit to the bank sometime....

Isn't it around 600.00? Or is it 400.00 (for PS3)? You should have gotten a x-box 360. ^--^
