Alright, so lately I've had a beef with PETA (no pun intended! blaugh ) So I decided to pull up some websites on PETA and give those who are less informed the facts about this not-so-charitable organization.

Did you know that PETA endorses physical violence towards people who work with meat, and have deliberately planted bombs in fast food restaurants?

Did you know that PETA values the lives of dolphins and donkeys over US soldiers?

Did you know that PETA thinks that all non-vegans are cannibals and deserve to die?

Yeah, there's much more to it than that. Below, I've provided you a list of links so that you can become more educated about this organization that is the world's worst nightmare.

This is by far the best website I've seen so far: http://www.activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm/oid/21

http://petakillsanimals.com/

http://home.hamptonroads.com/stories/story.cfm?story=93730&ran=57036

http://www.undueinfluence.com/peta.htm

http://www.thisistrue.com/peta.html

I'm sure you can fnd several more articles, but these are the ones I found first.

Let me know what you think on PETA, or, after reading these articles, what you learned.

I am sure to read that now and probably let you know what I think. I never really heard or knew anyhting of PETA so maybe this can enlighten me.

The one PETA thing you listed I feel a bit guilty abotu becasue it is similar to me. Now I am not saying a value animal lives over our soldiers, but more often then not I will pick an animals side over a persons. I know it may sound wrong but I am one of the people that ultimatly connects better to animals. Not saying I hate or disvalue the lives of people, just hat is some cases, the animal would come first. sweatdrop

I agree. I am guilty of the same thing, where I value the lives of animals more than humans at times. But for a large organization to say something like "“Six million people died in concentration camps, but six billion broiler chickens will die this year in slaughterhouses.” or this quote: "And when images of American POWs brutalized by Saddam’s regime came back from the war zone -- reminding us of mankind’s capacity for barbarism -- PETA loudly fretted that the hens used by the army to detect chemical weapons “never enlisted” and that the dolphins locating deadly mines in the Persian Gulf “have not volunteered.” "

It's worrisome. I love animals more than people at times, but for them to put the lives of a few animals over the hundred of soldiers that have been killed for no reason, it's sick. I understand where you're coming from, though. ^^

All non-vegans deserve to die? Jeez, I'm all for animal rights, but this is crazy.

And yes, I also normally do take an animal's side over a persons's, but well, yeah. You get the idea.

One of the Vice Presidents of PETA is in fact type two diabetic.

Now, kiddies do you know what that means? It means she is dependant on insulin to live. Insulin was made by animal testing. As were thousands of other drugs and medical devices that save lives everyday.

Also, I happen to be for abortion. I would shoot every damn monkey in south america dead to save a pregnant woman's baby who was about to aborted in ten minutes.

Your last sentence confused me. You say you're for abortion, but you'd kill monkeys to save a possibly aborted fetus? I don't know if I read it right.

But as for the insulin thing, it just goes to show you who the pot is and calling the kettle black. biggrin

Okay, hold on a second I am PRO ABORTION!!! I would give up my unborn baby to save the lives of all of those poor monkeys in Africa. We don't need anymore sixteen, seventeen year old girls running around all over the place... and have you ever thought about some of the good stuff PETA does and is involved in? Sure maybe they have a few screwed up ideas but think about the good stuff.

The good they do, or try to do, is far outweighed by the bad, in my opinion. They're one shady organization.

when ever something happens I don't care a about the people..I think straight away about the animals but when it comes to innocent people who fight for their country to save the animals (and people) I then think of them... I'm for animal rights but thats kind of over the edge..

Sorry, but the "non-vegans are evil!" thing just reminded me of something ron white said. He was taling about going to dinner with a vegan friend of his, who was preaching to him about meat is bad. He talked about how thousands of acres are cleared away to make room for pastures, their feces cause too many nutrients in the water, their constant farting is messing up the ozone, etc, and finally, when he's done preaching, he says "So what are YOU doing for the environment, huh?" Ron just looks at him and says "...I'm eating the cow."

Makes sense, don't it? xd

Pro abortion are you ...? Are you pro-euthanasia also? I know! Let's just line up all the senior citizens in the old folks' home and kill them one by one because we don't need anymore 60-, seventy-year-olds running around all over this place... What good things has PETA done? Lie to you abot all the "good things they've done?" Like donate thousands of dollars to ELF? Or how about ALF, the radical group that kidnapped a Scottish film director and branded their name into his back? Stage "top-secret" videos? Encourage people to plant firebombs in restaurants?

Oh wait! I know exactly what good they've done for the "companion animals" they love so much: MURDER THEM. PETA has killed more animals in the past 4 years than they've given to a better home. They lied to me and they're lying to everyone else who has fallen victim to their propaganda.

I personally do not agree with PETA's actions and procedures. Although they might have started out with a good idea, their reasoning has gone screwy. Perhaps some peaceful protest would make more sense. I mean, if they say humans are just another species of animal, whats their reasoning? I mean, other animals don't go around planting bombs in resturants....
I think something along the lines of a quiet boycott of meats and animal products would be far more effective....Although, I wouldn't participate, because I do love my steak. sweatdrop

Same here. They've done some good things, but by far, the world would be better without them.

Agreeing, but the only good thing PETA has done for me is drive me to vegetarianism. It's really hard sometimes, especially around Thanksgiving, but I feel so healthy without all that animal fat clogging up my pores and my arteries! I really feel energized and alive without eating meat, except for my bad protein days... Then I act more like a hippy. "Dude, quit yellin'. You're harshing my mellow... Come sit down by the tree and get in touch with the elements of Earth my man... Yeah, groovy..." *falls asleep and slips into a coma*
