Northward.
That's where the three of the were heading. He was unsure of why, but he'd recently earned a strong feeling of wanderlust, and it had brought him to finding and hatching two old eggs in his travels, two males, one named Fitore and a younger one named Odette. The spiral-decorated male yawned widely as the trio continued onward, toward the setting sun. It wouldn't be long before they would have to 'set up camp', as some would say, which simply meant that they would need to find another abandoned cave, likely with another abandoned egg, or perhaps even a young dragon.
Fitore jumped about happily, energy getting the better of him as the sun set slowly, his energetic side always taking control of him as the nighttime set in. He squeaked happily and pounced atop Odette, wriggling around a bit and biting at the younger boy's ear, before jumping away again, running circles around the two as they marched on, pale green eyes taking in everything that the world had to offer with a bright smile on his face.

Walking along as best as he could, Odette tried his best to keep up with the two others. Squeaking in alarm as the older boy pounced on him, he attempted to wriggle out of his hold, but to no avail. When he finally was released, Odette scrambled to his feet, almost tripping in an attempt to catch up to the oldest of the three. As he looked around, he realized how large and scary this unknown place was. Whimpering, he hoped that this trip wouldn't be for long.

Laida wandered happily through the small cave that she called home, inspecting it for whatever it might have contained. Even if she had already done this, oh, four times, it still didn't hurt to check just one more time. She pawed curiously at a particularly shiny rock for a few moments, wondering if it would give her any food, before she heard a loud squeak outside. Wagging her tail, she bounded forward and hid herself [poorly] behind a bush, watching in mingled curiosity and excitement as three other dragons, two green and one reddish-ish walked by. She wiggled, rustling the bush; maybe they could lead her to food! Or something even better!

Onesiphoros was far too concerned with finding his children a cave than looking around for other dragons. As such, he never noticed the sore thumb of a rugged, Northern dragon, though if he had, he would be absolutely astounded. Perhaps this quest had been to see if any of the Northerns still existed at all. It would definitely explain why it was North where he craved to travel to. His tail flicked back and forth when a cave made itself known, hidden behind a few brambles. His face lit up and he jumped forward.
"Come on, you two, I think I've found us somewhere," he stated with a smile, tail flicking back and forth as he jumped forward, slipping into the cave and glancing around curiously, finding much more than the initial owner of it would have found given his height, including a sort of false wall, a piece of rock that was leaned up against one of the walls haphazardly that shone with a surprising brilliance, obviously very weather-worn from sitting there for such a long time. Dark eyes shone with a certain curiosity, and he reached out one paw to gently rest against the rock. What was behind there...?
Fitore, unlike his foster father, was much more interested in finding a new playmate than he was looking for somewhere to sleep. If need-be, he wouldn't mind sleeping in a tree; the little boy could sleep anywhere once he had tired out enough. As such, the tan coat of the female stood out to him much more than the cave. He jumped up about the same time as Onesiphoros did, and ran full-throttle toward the girl dragon, tackling her and managing to roll the both of them back until he was on top of her, growling playfully.
That was when he finally took a moment to look the other over and felt his face slowly grow the colour of his ruddy pelt. 'O-oh... she's so pretty...' he thought, stumbling backward to fall on his butt, tail wagging back and forth anxiously. "W-w-wull... wull hi there," he said nervously, smiling in the bright, nervous way of an adolescent with an obvious crush.

Stumbling alongside the two older dragons and glancing around, Odette hoped that they would find a place to rest soon. Otherwise, they may be attacked by a rogue dragon, or they may get so cold that they get deathly sick, or...
As Odette continued to fear the worst, he noticed the sandy colored female dragon that Fitore was for some reason staring at. Apprehensively, he started towards the two, hoping that the stranger wasn't savage. Doing his best not to stammer, he approached the older dragons. "W-who're you?"

Laida stared wide-eyed as the ruddy dragon body-slammed her and rolled around the ground, screaming as she did so. Had she been expecting such an... enthusiastic reaction, she probably could have fought him off, but with her great surprise, all she could do was flail helplessly.
When the two finally stopped rolling, she blinked her sky-blue eyes in a bit of a daze, before sitting up and shaking her head to get rid of the dizzy. Once her vision cleared, she glared at the ruddy dragon, before deciding he wasn't worth her revenge and standing up haughtily, dusting off the leaves on her pelt with her tail. "Hi," she replied.
However, when the lime-green dragon appeared, she smiled widely and sat up a little straighter, mistaking the fear in the other's voice for admiration. "I'm Laida. I live..." She looked around, not quite sure where they were in relation to her cave, before shrugging and gesturing in a random direction with her tail. "Over there somewhere. Who're you? And why did you-" she snapped at Fitore "-jump on me?"

Onesiphoros felt a familiar twinge at the core of his being as he nudged at the stone, surprised as he realized what was behind it. Eyes growing wide, he used one paw to pull the stone slab away from the wall, wincing as it leaned against him and pulling back a bit before he shoved it away from the small, mostly-empty nest. There were only two eggs in it, the both of which were definitely not from the same hatch, completely different in colouration. He felt the hatching magic that had been laid onto the unborns pull at the depths of his very being.
He shook his head, trying to get rid of the dizziness, before he took a deep breath and wrapped around the small nest, tensing as he felt the energy pulled from him and into the eggs, completing the magic laid to them a long, long time before now.
The young dragon could sense that her time was coming. The shell of her egg felt as though it was thinning. A smirk adorned her young face and she gave a proud 'hmph' noise. About time she was let out of this blasted cell. Those sweet, loving, caring male dragons who'd been watching her before... pitiful. They'd never been bonded, and only served to take care of part of the hatching magic. She remembered their words of parting, comments about getting food. From then on the quiet one looked over them, talking to himself occasionally, before he covered them over with that blasted stone and in a hushed whisper said he didn't believe he was ever coming back.
'Weaklings,' she hissed through his mind, snarling from within the eggshell as she thrashed around, trying to knock herself out of the black-and-white patterned eggshell. She needed to hunt down her stupid, hopeless, pathetic wimp of a parent, she would show him what it was to leave her, writhing pitifully, too small to do anything real within an eggshell of a prison, seething with rage for years...
She would find him.
She would show him.Fitore would have pouted at the other one's glare, but found himself far too drawn by her gaze, hypnotized by white-blue eyes as his tail flipped back and forth, back and forth... Gosh, she was really, really pretty...
The red dragon gazed sharply toward Odette for reasons he didn't completely understand, flipping his tail to sharply rap the baby on the tip of his own tail, frowning softly. At the returned question, Fitore arrogantly took a step in front of his younger foster brother, raising his chin proudly and giving a wide, 'charming' smile. "My name's Fitore. And I'll say, your name is really, really pretty Laida," he said in a surprisingly cheesy manner for a dragon his age as he giggled nervously at the question.
"Me, me? I only did that because I wanted somebody to play with. Ody here is so boring and all he talks about is how the sky's going to fall or the world's going to end or other stupid stuff like that. And O-one-Oh-ney-siff-or-ous is really, really boring. All he ever does is talk about finding shelter and 'destiny' and needing to go North and how he wants to know whether or not the Northern dragons or dead, but that last on he only talks about while he's asleep," he paused here thoughtfully before grinning. "Why are you here?"

The young dragon could not wait. She simply could not wait until she got out of her blasted egg shell. She was so ecstatic about seeing what there is to see in the world. Wait, she thought abruptly. Didn't I once hear the "former parents" talking about a food...shortage? Shortage? Does that mean that there may not be any food left?!
The young dragon bit her lip in concern. No more food? That wouldn't be good...not at all. Pausing for a second or two, she smirked to herself and smiled. Whatever! If there's no food left, I'll just go somewhere else! I'll explore the rest of the world, and I'll find food, and I'll be one of the best dragons ever! As soon as I get out...Odette looked down at his feet awkwardly and then looked towards the two older dragons that he had addressed. The female seemed fairly nice, if not a little...odd. But as he heard the reply from the male dragon, he was a bit confused. Odette did know that his name was Fitore. It's not like he was dumb. But Odette decided not to state this issue. He had a whole other skew of things to be worrying about.
Odette took a sudden glance at the female that answered him. "L-Laida? Y-your name's Laida?" His eyes brightened a bit. "That's a p-pretty name! Y-you live...over t-there?" His vision followed the path of where the female dragon motioned. But... There really isn't anything there... Odette pondered on this, and then shot an annoyed look at Fitore after he heard him say that he was boring. "It's important! Y-you never know when something b-bad might happen!

Laida looked between the two male pups, wondering which one to answer first. After only a second's hesitation, she turned towards Odette, completely blowing off Fitore's spiel. She liked the green one more, anyway; he was nice and cute and all stammery. Smiling brightly at him, she nodded once. "Yup! Over there, in a cave! It's cozy in there, 'specially in the backish bits!" An idea suddenly leaped into her head, and she crouched down playfully, tail wagging in excitement. "Oooh, you should come and see it. 'S really, really nice and pretty!"
Then, remembering that they weren't alone, she stood up and looked over her shoulder oh-so-haughtily at Fitore. "Oh, and I guess you can come to, reddy-red. I mean, if you don't have anyone else to play with..." She said that last part almost wistfully, as if she was hoping that another dragon would fall from the sky and take Fitore out of her hair.

Fitore pushed his lip out at Odette in irritation at the little one's justification of his constant terror. Puh!! The world wasn't suddenly going to end and none of the terrible things that he always thought were going to happen were actually going to happen. He rolled his eyes and when the female disregarded everything he said, his jaw dropped slightly, looking at her pathetically, obviously wanting attention that he wasn't getting.
The pout came back with the 'nicname' that the female gave him, that 'reddy-red' that didn't suit him or his amazingness at all. He glared gently at her. "'Scuse me, miss, but like I said, my name is Fitore," he stated, emphasizing his name as though it actually mattered to the female. He didn't know any better; how was he supposed to know that she didn't care? I mean, she was pretty, and he was her same age, unlike Odette, who was younger. That meant that she was supposed to like him more.
