Drum Island (ドラム島, Doramu Shima) is a Winter Island, located on the Grand Line. This is a snow-covered island with a chain of drum-shaped mountains, and is where Tony Tony Chopper was born. Years before the present timeline, the Drum Kingdom had a kind ruler. However, his son Wapol, who inherited the throne, proved to be spoiled and selfish. Among other acts, he forced all of the doctors except for his personal ones to leave, forcing the people to beg him when they needed medical attention. When the Blackbeard Pirates attacked, he and his cabinet fled, only to be defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates when he returned. Currently, the island is ruled by the Sakura Kingdom, headed by Dalton. This is the location of the Drum Island arc.

(Decided to post first since Ully-kun didn't. Will post as best as one possibly can with a happy cat in their lap >_<)
Even with the thick, and very very long, coat Lamia was wearing, every little exposed skin cell suffered extreme cold. She had know Drum was a winter island, by why in God's name did things have to be so cold?! She blamed her condition. Snakes were always sensitive to the cold, and being raised on Tarkeena didn't help.
She remained in her room, furtively avoiding the captain. She stil hadn't gotten over his merciless killings at Whiskey Peak, and his annoying heat aura hadn't helped. So to kill two birds in one stone, she'd remain aboard the ship once they pulled in so as to avoid any chance of collasping from the cold if she went ashore.

((Sorry for not posting. I've been at my grandfather's house since early this morning helping with some renovations and with shucking and silking the corn crop. Also, I noticed you seem to be alternating back and forth between calling your RPC 'Lamia' and 'Danah.'))
Matsu knocked on the cabin door. "You know, without me on the ship you're going to be very, very cold. You might want to come ashore. We've got Heat Dials if you need one." He'd tried to apologize several times for the little heat torment, but he got the feeling that she'd be glad to have it right about now.

(Oops! Sorry. I'm only doing that because I post at Bier's a lot too >_<)
"Go away!" Lamia hissed back through the door. She didn't care if she turned into a snake-sicle, she'd rather stay on the ship than witness any latest acts of brutality from the captain.

Matsu knocked on the door, then gave up and just melted the hinges. "As much as I'd love to leave you, you'd freeze to death. Without my ambient heat aura on this ship the entire thing will freeze. You'll die within a few minutes. Come on. I'm friends with the Sakura Kingdom's current monarch, and unlike Cactus Island the people here are relatively civilized. They'll be left alone." He hefted Lamia over his shoulder and walked out, ignoring her protests. As Matsu walked down the gangplank the glass of water that Lamia had had next to her bed froze, then shattered. Frost began to form on the edge of the sheets.
Matsu walked into town, putting Lamia down once they were away from the ship. "Unless you want to die of frostbite you'll have to stay close to me. Here, take this." He placed a conch shell in Lamia's hand. It was faintly warm. "Heat dial. It'll keep you warm enough to survive if you get too far away from my heat aura."

Lamia shrieked and protested when he started carrying her on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Infuriated, she felt like she just outta bite him and see how he likes it. She grumbled and cursed under her breath as she still shivered on one of the benches in the town. Matsu was still in sight, talking to a big man, Doltan he was called.
Just as she made to go inside one of the houses, a small, funny looking rabbit dashed through the crowd, and then snatched up her hat. The hat was very warm and covered her ears sufficiently, and she liked it quite a lot. With a shrill squeak she flopped herself down onto the snow and then began to chase the rabbit, the hat in between its teeth.
"Come back you little theif!" she shrieked. Not noticing how far away from the town she was, she made chase after the speedy little rabbit, gloves growing thick with snow and the heat dial flopping around on a cord on her neck. Finally, she pounced upon the rabbit as it squeaked in shock, and yanked her hat from it. Once she gained reposession of her hat, she pulled it firmly on her head and released the rabbit, hearing its angry chitters.
"That's what ...you....get...."
Oh damn. She was lost.
Looking furtively around, she hugged her shoulders. As warm as the heat dial was, it was still incredibly cold, and she felt herself beginning to sway dizzily. She'd seen what happened to snakes in some winters on Tarkeena. Sometimes they fell into such deep sleeps that they simply never woke up. But just as the horrific thought came into mind-
*CRUNCH*
The sound of a cracking log was heard, and Lamia snapped her head up. There were dozens of them. Giant rabbits, all standing on their hindquarters. She saw the little rabbit theif growling behind the leg of ********..." she stuttered, feeling herself become drowsy and weak with cold. As she began to black out, she heard the crunch of a footstep emerge from the thicket.
"Well, well...what have we here snake girly?" _________
Lamia woke up, surprisingly warm with the heat dial, her coat, the heat of the room-
Then it came back. Snapping her head up, she looked around her new surroundings. Instead of being ripped apart by the rabbits, she instead found herself in what looked like a doctors room. The bed was situated by a window, and as she looked out she saw-
"What the hell am I doing in a castle?!"

Matsu turned from Dalton and looked around. "Oh, s**t!" He'd told Lamia not to get too far away from him, but she'd been too stubborn. Well, if he was any judge of character she'd either be halfway down a Lapin's throat or up with that crazy old Kureha. Two hundred and seven and she was still kicking. Sometimes very hard. "I'll be back. Seems that Naga-chan's wandered off." He boosted himself up in the air on a column of fire and looked around. A thin stream of smoke was coming out of the topmost chimney on the castle. Cursing a blue streak, Matsu started flaming towards the castle.

"Calm down there girly. I picked you up."
"Eh?!"
Lamia then noticed an old woman standing in the doorway. Only she wasn't exactly old...just her face was. Everything else about her might've suggested she was about 19. Lamia stared back in confusion.
"Found me? But I was surrounded by those enormous rabbits-"
"Yep, the Lapins may be mean to newcomers but above all they obey me." she lifted her sunglasses, "The name's Kureha. I'm the top doctor here on Drum. And who might you be snake girly?"
"It's Lamia. But why'd you bring me up here?"
"You passed out from the cold," she lifted the end of Lamia's tail, ignoring her squeak of protest, "I figure your Devil Fruit can take the cake for that."
"Yes. It can. As well as my dumbass cap-"
*BOOM*
There was a loud sound heard from downstairs.
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
Kureha grinned wolfishly. "Looks like your dear old captain's knocking at my door. I'll see what he wants." She left the room in a stride, leaving Lamia quite flustered. Looking around the room, she spotted a picture by the bedside. Curious, she picked it up.
It was a picture of a strange man, and what looked to be some kind of reindeer. The man's hair was strange, sticking out of several directions, up, left, right and back. He wore a tatty suit and a top hat. The reindeer looked almost human, and wore a simalar hat and a pair of shorts, and was covered in fur. Rubbing her arms thoughtfully as she set the picture down, she was curious to who they were, and when she'd be able to afford a fur coat for herself. These winter islands were going to end up being killers.

Matsu kept knocking on the door. He was getting pissed. Flaring his fist, he left a smoldering dent in the oak doors with his final knock. "Open up, you old baggage! You've got someone I need before we leave the island!" If anything would get the good Doctor running to the door, it was that nickname, if only so she could attempt yet again to stove his head in with a mace.

"Don't call me old you little punk! I'm still in my pert and perky 200s!"
Lamia stifled a snort of laughter as she heard the crow-like call of Kureha issued towards her captain. Maybe she liked the old doctor after all. At least dhe knew how to treat her dear old captain.

Matsu caught the incoming kick and dangled the Doctor upside-down in front of his face, his hand connected to his wrist by a three foot long gout of flame. "I know that, Doctor. Now, then, I believe you have a member of my crew in this castle. If you don't, then there's a certain species of cannibalistic giant rabbit that shall regretfully become extinct for their role in harming a member of my crew." Even his voice was edged with fire. He may have had his bad points, quite a lot of them in fact, but Matsu always cared for his crew, and would ruthlessly exterminate anyone stupid enough to kill one of his Black Dragoons.

Kureha rolled her eyes at Matsu's threats. Nothing she hadn't heard before.
"Don't get your knickers in a twist hotpants." she chided, putting her foot down, "Snake girly is upstairs but I doubt she wants to see you, or wants to go for that matter. You're welcome to come on up and see if you can change her mind," her expression became stern, "Understand that she's my patient now. If you do anything to harm her, the one who's health will be in most danger is you." She then proceeded to show him the way to Lamia's room. ________
Lamia was looking out the window when she heard the door open again. She saw Kureha, but then frowned and scowled at her captain also standing in the doorway.
"What do you want?" she snorted, looking away with disdain.

Matsu jerked his thumb over his shoulder. "you to come back to the ship. We're almost done restocking on supplies and the Log Pose will reset in about half an hour. " He hated to be blunt, but he was pursuing a certain ex-shichibukai, and this didn't give any room for error. "If you don't want to come then I'll have to just explain why you're along for the ride, but I'd rather not do that just yet."

Lamia's eyebrows began to furrow closer together as she felt a vein pulse angrily in her temple.
"I already know the reasons captain," she hissed back, "You refuse to let me and Master Yobu room anywhere else, and the fact that you can't live without an extra slave to clean your filthy ship." Kureha cackled on the sideline.
"Spunky. I like it!" she smirked in a way that made Lamia curious, "You and this Yobu fellow could always room here."
Lamia was quite shocked for a moment. Then, with a positively sinful grin, she turned towards her captain.
"That's an excellent idea."

Matsu's eyes turned pure black for an instant. "Kureha, you will leave us alone for five minutes. If after that time Lamia still wishes to stay then you are more than welcome to keep her. Until that time, however, I will speak to her alone." Matsu had only used this voice twice to Kureha, and the first time she'd almost been crisped when she said 'no.' She left. Matsu put his hand on the headboard of Lamia's bed. "Yobu told me about your father, Reseif, and what he did to you. He's an ex-Shichibukai, and he killed two dozen of my men, and gave me my only battle wound. His head will be mine, and I'm currently sailing to kill him. The only reason I came to Tarkeena in the first place was to see if I could trace him from there, and to see if he had any surviving relatives on the island. If you want to see that b*****d dead and buried you'll come with my crew. If you want to live out the rest of your life in a freezing hell like this, be my guest." The headboard was smoking, and little tongues of black flame licked up and down Matsu's body. He was nearly incoherent with rage against Reseif.
