Name: Zafir
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, but then again, he's never actually been interested in anyone before.
Craft: Weavercraft (Tailoring)
Rank: Apprentice
Physical Description: At only 5'3" Zafir is quite short. As if to make up for this fact, his shoulders are wide and he finds himself covered in thick ropes of muscle, though he rarely does much strenuous activity. His torso does seem a bit too long for his legs, but otherwise, everything seems to be well proportioned. His skin is darkly tanned to an even chestnut color, after years of living in one of the southern most points in the Northern Continent, South Boll Hold. His hair is a dark, chocolate brown that, in full sunlight, shows undertones of deep auburn, and with no need to keep it held back any longer, he has cut it as best he could- which is quite uneven and messy to say the least- to frame his decidedly androgynous face. Indeed, the femininity of his countenance brought him alot of teasing, in his early years, though he seems to have grown into it nicely enough.
Personality: Zafir does not consider himself a charming flirt, but there is a string of young and impressionable girls who would passionately disagree. While he often speaks in terms of compliments to those around him, to date, he has never shared his bed with anyone, or even singled out one particular person to shower with any special degree of affection, instead preferring to bury himself deeply in the business of learning his new craft. Indeed, in recent months he's had much less time out amongst the populace of South Boll than he would have liked, being a social man at heart. He is not a particularly sharp mind, but he does take pride in his ability to argue a point, and to remember even this slightest details. Indeed, should someone ever describe something in terms of color that he disagrees with, he'll immediately start thinking through which plant dye on what fabric would most resemble it. Outside of general shades he doesn't know many color names and he tends to specify color in terms of dye.
He does not handle stress well. Depending on the event, he either shuts down entirely, by reigning in the panic that he knows might eat him alive, and becomes rather numb and outwardly apathetic. Should that control waver, he has a terrible habit of becoming nervous in his entire body, twitching fingers, biting knuckles, muscles tightening and stomach rolling.
History: For as many generations as they care to remember, Zafir's family has consisted of seacrafters, with a respectable amount of Captains and Craftsmasters among them. So, when Zafir proved to be able bodied enough to take up the net and rudder, around eight turns, he found himself apprenticing under the watchful eye of one of his various uncles. Unfortunately, he consistently ranked with the newest of the apprentices, having no mind for most of the skills involved. By sixteen, he'd only been on four journeys onto the water to learn netting from the journeymen, and he had consistently done simple things wrong, and showed nearly no remorse for the fact.
To describe what followed as an expulsion from the craft might not be correct, when it was more akin to a mutual cessation of interest. And so, Zafir found himself spending time at home, with his mother and two younger sisters, sewing patches onto workclothes and hemming edges on gowns and sleeves. After only a handful of weeks, it was clear to both himself and his mother that Zafir was much better suited to the minutiae of sewing and fabric work than to the unique complexities of fishing. And so, during the summer of his sixteenth turn, Zafir enrolled to apprentice in the Weavercrafthall, where he has been working studiously ever since. Until he found himself searched by the dragons, he had set himself the goal of reaching Journeyman status by his twenty first turn, hopefully under five years of apprenticeship.
Pets: None, though he once had a small, singing avian, which died several turns ago.
Other/Talents: He can store minute details in his memory with an almost ridiculous accuracy. When he gets into his "debate" state of mind, he is almost assured to find at least two or three bits of trivia somewhere in the depths of his memory to support whatever ridiculous claim he might be making.
