No, not the awesome stuff that you iron between two peice of cloth and poof! Theyre stuck together (although, I personally love that stuff for ritual robes and cosplay costumes). No I mean stretching out those fingers and sewing pieces together yourself.
I started sewing when I was the tender young age of six. Mum worked and...thats about it. Along with some debilitating health problems and trying to go back to college, I was left on my own for entertainment. I stitched at first, making incoherent patterns on a scrap of cloth, but that turned into doll clothes, pillow cases...the list goes on.
Sewing isnt hard, in fact...with enough coaxing, I think I soap dish could attempt it. When you do it by hand, its almost trance inducing, and is a great way to do spell work. Think of all those little pouches you put together. Why not add a bit of added energy and embroider symbols on the bags? Or, instead of binding the pouches shut, why not sew them shut? It makes it exceptionally hard for overly curious significant others to pry protection pouches open twisted .
Another great way to incorporate magick with sewing is to make a quilt (the reason why I'm writing this. My fingers need a break, but I'm finally working on my first quilt xd ). Pick out sizable squares in colors that correspond to your need and sew them into long strips, and then sew the strips together. Colors can vary, or you could take some old clothing or material that you dont really want to part with and make quilting squares out of them smile (however, I fully advocate donating your old clothes...). When you've got a huge, sewn up piece of blanket, head down to your local craft store and get some big pieces of fabric to make a backing, and pick up some batting to loosely stuff for added warmth.
Another fun thing to do with quilts, is to sew magickal items inside. Nothing too big or sharp, you dont want them poking or prodding you while you're trying to cuddle up or sleep. Try tiny gemstone chips (I plan on adding some amethyst to mine, its a cure-all of sorts), or papers with symbols you might not want others to see. The possibilities are endless...provided you keep in mind that its essentially a blanket, and sewing a sizable, pointed pentacle inside might not be in your best interests...specially if you wake up with it imprinted on your cheek...
If you need more indepth instructions on how to make a quilt, or patterns/images, try some books at your library...or the internet. Crafting has nearly unlimited resources out there sweatdrop

That is a brilliant idea! I have some old shirts that I cannot wear anymore, I was eight when I got them, and that would be an awesome way to keep them.

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was little, but to this day, I'm still not good at it. Mostly I'd sew to repair my clothing, though I'd have to double, and even triple stitch.
There's one thing I have that I kept when I was little, that I had made, with the help of my grandmother - I took a brown bandanna that has flowers on it from my grandfather's dresser and made a teddy bear out of it, with buttons for the eyes and nose. I stuffed it with other old bandannas of my grandfathers, and sewed buttons for eyes and a nose. I still have it to this day, in memory of both my grandparents.
There are some stuffed animals I either used to have, or still have, that I had hand-sewn missing eyes or noses for.
And my latest save was my lady bug pillow, Lady Spots, which someone made for me when I was little, which I found almost the exact same material, and sewn on the sewing machine and hand-sewn, and stuffed the original, thread-bare body into the new one. I stuffed her with cotton (which went flat almost immediately). If I get around to it, I may tuck in some gemstones or whatnot. That's a good idea.
Also, when I was first learning about Wicca and Paganism in general, I learned about how to make a poppet. If you do this for someone, PLEASE ask for their permission first, or have them ask you to do it for them. You make a little doll out of cloth, hand-stitch it together, and place three things into it according to what this person wants (or what you want, if it's for yourself). For example, if it's a love spell (that's not going against someone's will), a small piece of rose quartz, a rose petal, and some symbol that stands for love will do. Stitch the doll up when it's stuffed, and maybe decorate it to resemble the person it's for, and send your energy into it, again, according to what the person wants or needs.
Another thing is you can make your own pouch. The easiest way to do it is; cut a circle of fabric of any size - make sure it'll be big enough to fit whatever you want to fit inside it - and, with string, ribbon, or yarn, stitch around almost the very edge of the fabric (be sure to leave at least half an inch worth of fabric at the end) in big stitches, leaving a few inches of the string, etc. at the beginning and the end, tying a knot at the ends. This is also a good way to make a hat for a Ren Faire.
