Character Info
Name : Beatrice "Bee" L'Héritier
Age : 17
Gender : Female
Appearance :

Beatrice, although she may not want to, takes extra care to make sure she looks her best. In her parents' eyes, anything less is unacceptable. The last thing the L'Héritiers want is their daughter to look like some commonplace riffraff. Her clothes are custom-made and tailored to fit her figure well. When she was younger, Bee's clothing used to be more bright and vibrant. Now, however, her main wardrobe consists of somber colors, mostly black, white and grays. As far as her complexion goes, Beatrice's skin is smooth and creamy in color. She is petite for her age, standing around 5'1 in height. Lightly curled auburn locks reach down to her elbows. Her eyes, which her mother says she inherited from her father, are a striking cyan blue.
Personality : Ever since she was a young girl, Beatrice has been soft-spoken. It isn't that she is shy; far from it. She just speaks in a soft tone, and normally only talks when she feels she has something important to say. Instead of having a bunch of aquaintances as friends, she would prefer to have just few people she is close to. If she ever hangs out with someone, it's usually no more than one or two at a time. Crowds have never really been her thing. Another thing Bee really likes to have is time to herself. She isn't a complete recluse, but would rather prefer some time to herself after hanging out with friends for a while.
It takes a lot to get her upset. For the most part, she handles things with a calm and level-head. She tries not to let things bother her, preferring to just brush it off her shoulder and move on. Some things, however, she does let get to her, but those are the things she keeps to herself. Beatrice is a very private person in terms of her background and family life. The last thing she wants is everyone all up in her business. If, for some reason, she should get angry or worked up enough, it is never a good thing. Bee has been known to lash out in times like that, often saying harsh or hurtful things. When that happens, though, for the most part, she feels sorry for it afterward and often apolgoizes.
Beatrice is a very honest individual, and it is this trait that might be a bit problematic. She believes in being honest and saying the truth, even if it hurts someone, rather than lying just to save them a few hurt feelings. Why should she sugar-coat things for people when she wouldn't expect others to do the same for her? The truth hurts, she knows, but it's better for others to know it rather than to be patronized by hearing exactly what they want.
Finally, it should be known that Bee is very determined. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does, especially if it is something that gives her trouble. It's better to try and fail then to not try at all - this was something her father instilled in her as a young girl. Others might call this being stubborn, but hey - if she gets things completed and does her absolute best, what's the problem?
Keywords [5 Max]: Soft-spoken, composed, forthright and strong-willed.
History : Born into a life of privilege, Beatrice was the only daughter of Bernard and Charlotte L'Héritier. The family was lucky enough to call the wealthiest district of Eurlak their home, though it wouldn't be possible without hard work. Her father, Bernard, was a prosperous merchant who ran his business on his air ship. Things weren't always like this, however. Starting out, Bernard was actually just a regular ship merchant. Yet through dedication and many sleepless nights, he was finally able to achieve his dream and obtain his very own air ship. Only through his success was his family able to live in the lap of luxury. While her husband worked, Charlotte stayed at home and took care of baby Beatrice as a homemaker.
Her childhood was normal, typical of a young girl in her status. There was private tutors, piano and violin lessons, as well as private parties and long walks in the park. Beatrice seemed to have it all: a wonderful house, loving parents, nice clothes and a good education. She even had made friends with a few of the other young girls in her neighborhood; they were the daughters of dukes, doctors and other wealthy merchants. It wasn't until her mother started arranging a marriage for her that Bee noticed something different about herself.
All her mother and friends could talk about were boys. For Charlotte, it was prospects of who young Beatrice might eventually marry, and for her friends it was the local boys in the area that they harbored crushes on. Yet Bee - she didn't feel the same way. What was so great about boys? They didn't seem all that wonderful. Besides, the girls were much more easier to talk with. Perplexed, she decided to ask her mother about it one night after dinner. ["Why do I have to marry a boy," the young ten-year-old Beatrice inquired, "why can't I marry someone like Jacqueline?" Her question was answered not by the calm voice of her mother but a hard slap in the face. After that, she never asked again, and kept her feelings and questions to herself.]
Life went on like normal for a few more years. It wasn't until Beatrice turned 14 that her life was turned upside down yet again. One day, her father came home from work early complaining of a cough. Charlotte waved it off, saying that it was probably nothing more than the common cold. Only after Bernard started to cough up blood did the L'Héritiers call a doctor. The diagnosis was grim - Beatrice's father was dying. Over the next few months, Charlotte and Bee worked around the clock to keep Bernard comfortable. Six months after receiving the news, however, he passed away. That day would be the darkest ever in Beatrice's life.
Wounds heal with time, and so did the hearts of Charlotte and Bee. But just when she thought she and her mother had adjusted to living on their own, someone else showed up into the picture. It was a man, and his name was Daniel. He was Charlotte's new lover. [Eventually, the two were wed and Beatrice was forced to welcome her new stepfather into the family.] Rather than just close down Bernard's merchant business, her mother decided to keep it going. It remains open to this day, although it is now under Daniel's new management. With the desire to further her education, Beatrice's parents have recently sent her off to Jaradin Secondary College. Whether it was true or just an excuse by Daniel to get her out of the house, Bee will never know. One thing is for sure - she is content where she is, and has no intentions of going back any time soon.
