THE HUNTER

Robinatlaquaxorzet, alias the Hunter, is a Timelord who is very fond of the ancient ways of archery and survival. He has fallen in love with not space, not time, but being alone on a planet fighting for survival. However, the way of his eople has forced him to combine his hobbies with his duties. His TARDIS, which often takes the form of an oak tree, also transports a small friend of the Hunter's named Impatiens, a small, flighty creature something akin to the legendary Faeries from the planet Paxaqa. She calls herself a Pixii.

Who's interested in travelling with him and his friend?

Time Lady of Gallifrey

The planet on which the Hunter landed this time was a noisy one, the kind he didn't like at all. Impatiens was so affronted by it that she insisted on staying in the TARDIS, and the Hunter really couldn't blame her. Donning a costume that would work well with the inhabitants - A dark gray suit set and an armband marking his feigned affiliation with the more powerful of the several political factions of this world - The Hunter exited his TARDIS, which had taken the disguise of a metal-sculpted tree (there was no greenery left on this planet, another thing that bothered both the Hunter and Impatiens) and set out.

The comely-appearing Timelord approached the mission with less than his usual enthusiasm; he was to silently alter the oncoming election so that the new Dictator would be more fair to the people than the one they were stuck with now. This would, in time, prevent the extinction of the people's entire race, which had resulted in their electing the same Dynastic ruler again and again until one particularly mad Dictator blew all of the major cities across the planet to bits, swearing up and down that they were all infected with microbial bloodlice (whatever the zark that was), before finally committing suicide by burning his own house down.

Such a dreary world... No wonder Impatiens had refused to come out. The air itself tasted like pepper spray and stung the Timelord's dark green eyes, making him blink rapidly from time to time, due to the level of pollution in the atmosphere caused by the current Dictator's obsession with machinery and progress without consideration for the health and welfare of his people and his homeworld.

The Dreamer was, for the first time in quite a while, exhausted. She attributed it to the new body and attempted to return to her work. She stretched her unfamiliar hand and picked up her stylus again. There were no sounds in the TARDIS nursery as she sketched the design for a new prototype.
She couldn’t focus. This was new to her. She hadn’t even been alive long enough to consider what it would be like to regenerate. It had been a freak accident. Now she was trying to familiarize herself with herself.
She still had her own mind, mostly, thank Rassilon. She might have killed herself if she had had to give up her work as a TARDIS engineer. But the capacity of her new body to work was inferior to her previous one. She found herself resting more lately.
Not that the work-masters minded. As long as she could brilliantly design and improve on TARDISes, she could work whatever hours she pleased.
Yes, the Dreamer had a good life, if you asked anyone.
Creatively brilliant, moderately pretty, prodigy daughter. Yes, by all Time Lord standards, she was blessed.
But something was wrong.
And she'd be damned if she knew what.

Impatiens had nothing more to do; the TARDIS could manage itself without her help, and the Hunter was busy manipulating the political rabble outside the craft in 2768 CE. She sat upon the console for a while, kicking her legs against the dash in boredom until she decided that such an action would only result in bruising her ankles. With one strong beat of her dainty, feather-scaled wings, she rose a few inches up into the air and decided to fly about aimlessly for a few minutes.

Then she noticed a disturbance in time. Not a big one, oh, no. Just a little one, like something or somebody had just plinked at a tiny iridescent strand of the vast, glittering silken spread of time and space. Halting in her flight, she hovered for a moment, trying to figure out where the plinking had come from. It was almost like a new presence... or a presence that had been refreshed.

Oh, well, she thought, So what? People are being born and dying all the time... but still, she argued with her other self, wouldn't it be nice to go and have a look? Perhaps this new person will need our help...

Our help. Heheh. She'd forgotten about the Hunter. Oh, well, she decided as she flitted prettily over to the general console and punched a few buttons with all her strength (she was, after all, a very tiny person), I can just go and have a look and be back a half-second after I left. Time will sort itself out. It can do that.

A few minutes later, the silver tree statue had vanished from Loonqwual Central Park and had reinstated itself near to the timeship belonging to Dreamer. In the meantime, the Hunter was struggling with some cables of wire that were supposed to instruct a TV channel to cease playing propaganda for one candidate of the Farindesial elections and to resume playing another's.

The Dreamer ran into the school room.
Flustered and upset, she apologized profusely to Kalissaniaxorus, her daughter. Kalissa sighed and took her mother’s hand. Together they walked through the streets of Diasoran, their beautiful village on the outskirts of the planet’s capital. The Dreamer squeezed kalissa’s small hand. The little girl, seven years old – almost eight, was the most important thing to the Dreamer. And she was going to be taken away. Taken to the Academy and sculpted to the uniforms of time Lord Society. Uniforms the dreamer was no longer sure she believed in. Uniforms she hadn’t believed in since kalissa’s birth.
The dreamer thought back to her own exposure to the Untempered Schism. She shuddered and wished that her baby would never have to go through that.
But Kalissa was not worried in a way that was unusual for Time Tots her age.
No longer a Tot. The Dreamer had to remind herself. An Academy aged Child of Time.
But the Dreamer was a trooper. She could deal.
Kalissa let go of her mother and ran ahead to the house, where her father stood, waiting.
The dreamer nodded and smiled at her once partner. Although they had parted long ago, they were on excellent terms and were both very involved in the life of their beloved daughter.
“Dreamer.” He greeted and held out his hand for her as she approached him. she shook it warmly.
“Well if it isn’t the Maker. How are you?”
They bantered, but she wasn’t interested.
They sent Kalissa to pack up her things. She ran off and then the Dreamer was suddenly very interested in conversation.
“I’m worried for her, Maker. She is so unconcerned, but in less than a month’s time our baby will be made to stare into the Gaping Insanity. How will she handle it?” the Maker shrugged at the Dreamer.
“She will be fine. She’s strong. Like her mother.” He kissed her forehead and put a hand on her temple. He calmed her mind with a sense of security.
Then he and Kalissa were gone and she was alone. Serene and secure, she still felt wrong. It was in that tranquil state that she turned and saw the miniature person.

Time Lady of Gallifrey

Impatiens flashed the Timelady a delicate smile and drifted a bit closer. Perhaps... was it this one that had been the source of the "plink"ing? Or maybe not... Maybe yes, maybe no. You could never be too sure about matters involving both time space. They were so tricky by definition!

"Hello," the Pixii lifeform greeting her, now hovering about five feet away from the woman's nose, "I came to have a look at you." She'd never been one for tactfulness, either. Why bother with diplomacy? 'Just spit it out there and get it done' was her way of thinking.
