I'm auditioning for Rent n a couple of weeks. I was told not to audition with a broadway song. They want a pop or rock song. I was thinking of auditioning with the song More Than a Feeling by Boston. What do you think? Can you give me any advice as to what song to pick?

That sounds like a good song to choose, since I think most people won't think of that one and will probably audition with Queen. Which part are you auditioning for?

I'm just auditioning to be in the show. I look like a person that would play Maureen, though. I was also thinking of auditioning with The Widow by The Mars Volta. I can't find the sheet music for that, though. The thing is they want me to sing without music but bring the music just in case.

Allow me to first say that I am envious as s**t. One that you have the oppertunity to even try out for Rent, and two for having the range to even think about singing More Than a Feeling.

As for song choice, that definitely sounds excellent. I would choose classic rock and something that would personify the show lyrics wise. So yeah, your song choice is great.
