Yes, Danae knew he'd be in trouble and he knew it was getting late. The sun was setting and turned the sky that beautiful pink/orange color, even purple in some areas. This was always his favorite time of day. The time when the knowledge of what's in the light, becomes the mysteries of what lies in the dark. The time when his real fun can begin.
This evening he followed the River through the forest. The River was like a good luck charm to him, he always found it full of surprises. Tonight was no different. As the River took a shape turn her heard the sound of a snapping twig near by. He paused to listen and heard it again. Whatever it was, it was fast, he could hear it clearly not that his own hooves weren't blocking out the noise. More snapping, and a growling sounds. Well, he certainly didn't need to be standing still anymore!
He dashed along the River, away from where he thought the noise was coming from. He thanked his mother for giving him a small form, but speedy legs. Whatever it was, he didn't hear it anymore, but he didn't allow himself to slow down. Suddenly he wished he'd left himself at the teepee, with his mother's watchful eye.
He wasn't completely helpless, his barbed tail flicked readily behind him, if he'd get the chance to use it. He hoped not.

He'd done it again, just like Edel knew he would. Danae had not returned before Sundown like she'd asked him to. So, she'd left Melody and Samual to take care of things on the home front and she flew down the River.
She knew she shouldn't be so hard on Danae, but he was still young and far to reckless for his own good. She'd already saved him form more then one dangerous situation. At least she knew his path by now, he loved the river. And so, she flew above the River, he tiny form cutting through the air as she searched.
