As some of you probably know, on Sunday, I will be leaving for 6 weeks to go to a cadet Survival Instructor course, where I will learn how to survive in the event of anything from an airplane crash to simply being lost in the woods. I posted the information a while ago in the Absences thread, but I thought that since I'm going for so long, and will likely miss any sort of a summer event, I'd say a more obvious farewell.
I can say for sure I'm going to miss being around here, not only because I suddenly have to go cold turkey off the internet, but also because I find that the general atmosphere is a light one, full of humour. The next 6 weeks will probably be less enjoyable, seeing as I will be residing at CFB Borden, where we never trust the scrambled eggs and never eat the soup, and spend our mess time searching for the secret drink dispenser with the pink lemonade.
Okay, so maybe that's not the harshed of images, but I'll be sure to miss being around, and I can guarantee you all I'll probably be thinking "Hey, I wonder who Chang is killing" or "I wonder what Namine is creating now...".
Regardless, I'm going to miss you all during the next 6 weeks, so just don't forget I exist. Kay?

Yay! One last party for me! And don't worry, the cadet part of the base is on the plateau above the artillery range and about a kilometer or two away, so I probably won't make it that far without getting caught by the MP's.

Well, that's a relief. I thought for a minute there that you were leaving for good. Don't ever scare me like that again! *finger waggle*
In all seriousness, though, good luck and try not to get hurt (too much). I expect the upcoming six weeks will be a lot longer for you than they will be for us.

I actually don't think I've ever met someone with an evil stepmother... But I know people who have evil- step-girlfriends...
That sucks. Try not to have your soul stolen. You can't be Hammi Andress without one. smile

Well... It's midnight here, so I have to go to sleep. My bus leaves at 1230, so with morning chores, final packing and ironing my uniform and all, I probably won't get a chance to come on.
So... Goodbye! I'm feeling pretty nervous now, I always have when traveling. It's probably that fear of forgetting the one most vital thing you own. That, and the fact I'm gone for 6 weeks. But this year, I won't be the only one on the base that I know (As a 13 year old 2 years ago, being the only person you know on a military base is massively scary). I'm sure things will be fine when I get there. I'll see you all in six weeks, and hopefully have some pictures!

Anyways, take care Doc, don't get on the wrong bus and end up somewhere near ********, Kansas, and as always, the Barton Army will be exactly how you left it when you return; heavily in debt and ill-equipped to supply menial things for its personnel.
