Circle of Stones
A field of natural boulders, lodged in a sea of tall grass. The sun beats down harshly on this open field, the cool wind the only reprieve from the heat. The very center of the field is a circle, clear of any kind of debris. Hence the name, "Circle of Stones".
This is an all out battle. Neither of us have Shikai, so there is no need to worry about it.
Rokera sat on a boulder. Dreamily, he stared upwards, watching the clouds float by. His zanpakuto was lain on the rock, right next to him. Moments like these always made him think, and odd thoughts they were. I used to envy these clouds, he thought to himself, but not now. They float free, and peaceful, not bound by earthly desire. His hand balled into a fist, while his face maintained it's poise. Yet they are destined to wander the sky for all eternity, forever searching. Searching for something never to be found.
His hand lazily traced the cloud on his necklace, the cool metal soothing against his finger. It was always a reminder to him, of how he used to float, with no purpose at all. Now, he had a purpose, and a dream. He had a goal in his job as a Shinigami.
Rokera sighed. "Sometimes, I just need to stop thinking." He stood, grabbing the zanpakuto by the sheath and sticking it under his belt on his left side. He had organized a sparring match with an unseated member of the 10th squad, by the name "Zaine Tsukioma". It was a test of his skill, both a refresher and a review of his own skills, to see if he was ready to discover his Shikai.

Zaine walks calmly into the Circle, admiring the sky and enjoying the wind. He had accepted the challange for no other reason than he always was up for a test of skill, breaking into a grin runs full speed slowing as he sensed his opponent's spiritual pressure. Cross glinting in the sunlight Zaine walked forward, allowing Rokera to see him. "Hello, how are you this afternoon?" he asks graciously bowing slightly to introduce himself, "Zaine Tsukioma, unseated of squad 10, and you are?"

Rokera felt him before he heard him, and heard him before he saw him. Inwardly, he chuckled. Definitely from Squad 10. He's no covert agent.
"My name is Rokera Kokuriden, 4th seat of Squad 7."
He jumped down into the grass, landing ever so lightly, hardly disturbing the grass. He settled into a combat stance, his mind now focused on the task at hand. "Are you ready?" Rokera's reiatsu did not shift in the slightest. It remained constant, and level, as he suppressed it.

Zaine nods, "Pleasure to meet ya." Reaching to his back he brought out his Zanpakutoh, the blades on each end shining in the light, the black hilt, with gold and silver thread twined around it possesed no crossguard, neither on top nor bottom, "Thought you'd never ask." Zaine says, a twinkle in his eye, "Your challange, you get first strike." he says assuming a defensive stance, every muscle in his body taut and prepared for evasionary tactics if needed

"If you insist."
The dam that held his reiatsu back burst. A shockwave erupted from his form, his robes whipping wildly in the sudden gale. Pressure began to mount, as slight cracks appeared in the earth where his feet were planted. His eyes had closed. His mouth slowly pulled itself into a grin, his teeth baring. Blurring, he charged.
Stepping within Zaine's reach, Rokera threw a reiatsu enforced left jab, aimed straight at his opponent's head. His training began to replay through his mind, as he prepared for his opponent's response to this sudden attack. Let's hope this does something. These speed bursts damage my body, because I'm not used to them yet. He felt his inner reiatsu dip with the jab. I hate how unreliable this is..but I have to go with it.

Zaine grins at the release, "Knew you were hiding somthing, thought it'd be a bit more impressive though." he says sounding slightly dejected, Zaine then instead of dodging the attack ran to it ducking low Zaine places his left palm upward, so close to the blade that it appeared he was touching its cutting edge, "Take this!" he says suddenly placing the right palm out, towards his opponents middle, simultainiously Zaine releases to powerful pulses of Reiatsu, following with a kick at his side.

((My attack was quite literally a jab, with my left hand. I didn't unsheathe my blade at all. Just so you know. Your post will work anyways. After all, 7th Squad is the hand to hand specialists.))
His arrogant words left a bitter taste on Rokera's tongue. So that's how it needs to be. He saw his opponent move under his attack, and forward into him. Reiatsu began to build near his side. A short range blast. A good move. His right hand dropped to intercept the palm, as Rokera surged reiatsu into the limb. He felt the pulses smash into his arm, making his hand creak with pressure, traveling up his arm and into his core. It rippled through his tissue, slightly painful. Now to put this to good use.
The kick came fast, and hard. However, so did his left arm. The reiatsu he had intercepted fired into a hammerfist as the arm dropped down, smashing the oncoming leg before it reached it's full striking force. The fingers on his right hand shaped into an asp strike, as a single word echoed through his head.
Ka. The fire godai. The asp shot forward, aimed at the center of his chest. The piercing properties of the asp combined with the explosive power of the ka godai would kill an ordinary human, but would most certainly damage a shinigami, even in it's basic state that was being used now.
((For reference, the godai do not manifest themselves as actual elements until the art is mastered. Right now, they're just strike and style augments.))

Zaine grins as Rokera brings the arm down "That's right, that's right, I wanna see what ya got!" he says smiling joyfully "Sorry to have angered you but I don't want any crap in my fights. You can understand that though right?" he asks wryly, releasing another burst of equal strength to the other's attack negating the two, seeing the his oponents hand form the shape Zaine releases a stream of reiatsu, boosting his speed and sending him between Rokera's leg, after skidding a few feet Zaine ducks into a roll and springs to his feet turning to face the enemy, Zaine staggers a bit, his left leg tingling and bruised, "Damn, must have misjudged the strength." Zaine stands there, waiting.

Rokera saw the impossible. He watched a full grown shinigami somehow fit in between his legs and skid away, out of immediate range. Something inside of him clicked, at this humiliation. Rokera didn't notice a thing.
Rokera didn't move. "Misjudged?" His head turned slightly, a shadow covering the visible part of his face. "I assure you..it is a most fatal flaw to judge your enemy before you battle." Rokera remained still, except for his left hand. It gripped the zanpakuto, prepared to draw it in a reverse grip. "Let's see if you can judge this!" His voice changed mid sentence, filling with a deep hatred.
He turned, almost instantly on top of Zaine. His teeth bared in a devilish smile, his sword flashing with reiatsu. It reflected in his eyes; which had changed from their hazy mist to a sharp crystal blue. He sliced upwards at an angle, aiming to sever his enemy in half from his hip to his opposite shoulder.

(Hey, Im 16! XD)
Zaine's eyebrow quircks at the sudden change in his opponent, seeing him reach for his blade a grin breaks out on Zaine's face " 'Bout time, let's start this party, while Rokera is ranting Zaine begins to spin his sword, picking up speed until it appears he's holding a razor disk, sending reiatsu into his blade he barely brings the disk up in time to block the attack, smiling he releases the stored reiatsu in the blade, not to increase his blades power as his opponent had but in the form of an explosive burst, then releasing another pulse through his feet Zaine jumps through the air, once more spinning his blade. "You ok buddy?" he asks cautiously, now noting a real change in the Shinigami.

The explosion stopped Rokera in his tracks, but not backwards.
"Listen to yourself." A insane little chuckle followed. "Of course I'm okay! I've never been better. With ease, he flipped his sword around into a correct grip. "You see, it takes a little while for me to wake up sometimes. That guy before? He's not me. He is weak. I..I am not."
Rokera rocketed forward, up in to the air. His sword was pointed at Zaine's chest. The pressure around Rokera had begun to increase very rapidly, white reiatsu almost visible around him. His eyes were bright, and filled with an odd glee, as his toothy smile flashed.
"I want to see your blood, Zaine."

Zaine shakes his head, his shoulders shaking with laughter "Are you serious? First Saki, now you?" Stretching Zaine grins "Oh well, maybe you'll be more fun." Zaine tracked Rokera's flight into the air, seeing and feeling the effects of the transformation Zaine grins, "Good, is this your true power?" he asks his eyes brightening with mirth upon hearing his command. "Well, since you asked so kindly sure. But I expect to see yours as well." he flashes his own toothy grin and concentrates reiatsu into his left palm, "I'm waiting."

Rokera smiled. Normally, those words would have stung his pride, but pride did not matter at this moment in time. All the mattered was power, and it would be all that ever would.
"That's the spirit." Rokera sheathed his sword in midair, his free hand forming a symbol on his chest. "Hado Number Four: Byakurai!" Lightning surged into his hands, not firing, but pooling inside his hands. He cocked both arms back, prepared to strike.
He feinted a head on strike, ducking to the side. Power built, Rokera forced the Kido out through his arms, attempting to rain down a series of carefully placed vital blows at high speed. The air crackled and popped with the force of the kido as it began to fire.

Zaine laughs, "At least you seem a bit more relaxed now." he says dryly, seeing the stored power Zaine tenses prepared for a powerful strike, seeing Rokera feign the head on attack he turns to the side, just in time to see the barrage begin, moving defly Zaine dodges most strikes using an occasional pulse to protect himself. "Damn!" he inhales with a hiss as a strike grazes his hip, gritting his teeth Zaine finally releases the charge in his palm, the force immense and highly destructive surely anyone even grazed by the attack would feel it.

Rokera gasped as the blast hit his left shoulder. An audible snap could be heard as he was knocked backwards, slamming into the earth. Damn. Quite a shot. Pain pulsed through his shoulder, as he gingerly examined it by touch. Broken, definitely.
He stood back on his feet. A small trail of blood ran out of the side of his mouth, which was no longer smiling. His lips were tight with rage. Which, of course, was a new experience for Rokera. This part of him always enjoyed playing games, and never, ever decided to turn serious.
That was about to change.
Massive pressure suddenly erupted forth from Rokera, the earth being torn asunder by energy. His bones creaking under the strain, he summoned forth the inner depths of his soul, the pool of his reiatsu. His body glowed with the white aura of the massive release. Raising his blade, it's howl audible, he spoke. "Fun time is over."
Time seemed to slow. A crater was left from where Rokera simply jumped off. His voice roared through the crushing reiatsu, full of bloodlust and hatred. It was a beastly cry, inhuman, teetering on the edge of insanity. With intense effort, he raised his sword above his head, and he swung.
The world exploded into white.
