1) It is mentioned that Stan Sakai's character "Space Usagi" appeared
in TMNT #47 (found this info on usagiyojimbo.com). However, I cannot
find any further information on his appearance in this issue or the
series as a whole. Have I been lured to deceit?

A) There's an 8 page story in the back of the issue entitled "Hare Today,
Hare Tomorrow" that was done to promote the upcoming Space Usagi comic that we published back in the day. Space Usagi was also featured on theback cover of the issue.

2) I recall that Playmates once released an action figure of a
character named "Shogun Shoate". This character bears a striking
resemblance to Chote, who actually is in #47 (and #46). Are these two
indeed the same character?

A) Pretty much. Michael Dooney designed both characters. It's possible
some other toy company owned the name Chote, so Playmates Toys had to change it (or they just didn't like Chote for some reason).

3)Was the character Lotus Blossom from the Murakami Wolf Studios version of the TMNT cartoon essentially their version of Karai?

A) I'm afraid I don't know, I wasn't privy to any of the discussions
regarding the original cartoon.

I have heard of no other appearances, by Usagi, in a TMNT book. Maybe we'll get a "Tales" featuring him sometime in the future.
I also had a question for Mr. Berger a few weeks ago. I asked about the possibility of an animated TMNT movie based on the new series:

Yes, 4Kids Entertainment would like to see it happen, but we're
focusing our efforts on getting something with a bigger budget into
production. Time will tell on both counts.

I'd much prefer a live action/cgi feature and it's nice to know it's still on their to-do list. I doubt it'd fall into the current series' continuity though, so I still think an animated movie is in order.

Wow, I didn't even know they had an 8 page Usagi Story in TMNT # 47!! I checked my comic to make sure it was in there, and indeed it is. I'll read it first thing tomorrow morning. I would love to get a bunch more Usagi Comics, but I can't find any good deals on eBay... sweatdrop

i've got a question. i've seen a few posts in various topics about dburger having/knowing some connection to the people in charge of the Turtles or something. i'm not sure of the exact details or anything. can anyone tell me what relationship dburger has with some of these people?

I'll answer that! I have no connection whatsoever with the folks at Mirage. However, there is a man named Dan Berger, and we have remotely similar names...(Mine being Daren Burger). That's all! smile

I've spoken with him a few times to ask about submitting my artwork and about the new comics. But I have no relationship with the folks at Mirage!

Just figured I'd chime in here, since this topic is something I'm good with. *G*

I want to say to anyone interested in getting connections with the Mirage crew it's not that hard, these people are normal day people... they have no high views of themselves for doing anything big, so they're down to earth people to talk too.

Getting to know Dan is as easy as emailing him through the Offical TMNT Web Site. Jim Lawson and Peter Laird can usually be reached through their Planet Racer web page. Keep it on topic, though if you start to email normally they do get to know you.

And if you hear of any conventions going on near you or in your area check them out!!!! It's truely worth getting to know all of the guys at Mirage!!!!

Hehe, good observation! xd Mabye that's what inspired him??
