Horror Inc. Art Contest - Open to All
I just had my second interview at the New England Aquarium today for a volunteer position and I got it! I'm so excited! I'm going to be working with the tanks in the freshwater gallery. So i'll be taking care of the red tailed cat fish, piranhas, turtles, electric eels, freshwater rays, dart frogs, the anacondas, all kinds of really cool stuff like that.
It's so cool behind the exhibits! I was like a kid in a candy store back there. I think my enthusiasm really helped sell me. I can't wait til August! That's when I'll start. It's required that you volunteer one full day a week, but you can do more than that too!

Just one day a week? I'd bring a tent and set up camp :p

Thank you! Heehee, I know I wanna volunteer there all week, but volunteers don't get paid so I still have to find an actual paying job, otherwise I would. I have an interview at PetSmart next week though so if that goes well I will be in heaven. Once a week aquarium, the rest of the week cuddly animals and annoying customers.

Hope you get that job too, I never managed to get a job at a petstore sad Somehow I near always end up waiting, bartending or promoting some product.
I have volunteered at an animal shelter for a while, it was the most moving experience I've ever had. smile

I bet! I wanted to volunteer at a shelter but there are none that I can actually get to without a car. Plus the aquarium correlates more to what I want to do with my life, which is work with fish. I can never get a job at a pet store either, so I don't have high hopes. Then again, I didn't think I'd get this position at the aquarium and they proved me wrong, so who knows?
I start training this weekend, I'm so excited!
