Cáel sat beneath a lone tree on the plains, staring intently at the edge of the forest, and trying to figure out if there was anything in there. Perhaps he would venture in today. Despite not knowing what lay in store for him there, Cáel had always felt drawn to the forest. It was just too tempting for him to not want to find out what lay inside it. Even though he'd heard of the oak tree at the heart of the forest, he'd never seen it for himself. Someday he would though. If not today, then someday soon... First, he'd have to see if someone would want to go with him though. Glancing around, he realized he hadn't seen anyone over here today. Probably because all the other Saighneian were too busy to notice he was gone. Again. Well, he would probably have to wait for someone to show up then. After all, Cáel wasn't one to go out of his way to seek the help of others often. If they wanted to help, he'd let them, but it usually had to be their own choice.

User ImageHer twin brother had disappeared once again and she was left all by herself. Bailey didn't like that. She didn't like that one little bit and it showed as she inched along the plains, ears down and looking quite upset. Did he go and get himself hurt? Braden's been gone since last night, which meant that this girl was hungry and lonely. She mewled a little for him and then sighed, sitting down on a little bitty hill on the plains.

Stupid Braden... She mumbled under her breath, puffing a bit. Her chest rose and fell with her breathing and her green eyes glanced every which way. One of these days she was going to have a panic attack and just keel over. Bailey could admit she had a dependency issue; she had NEVER been alone this long. And it made her really uneasy. "Come back..." That's all she really hoped for. Her brother to come back so her world would be at piece again. One never could relax until they knew their family was well and good.

Braden did mention he'd be gone for a couple of days. Something about seeing if Bailey could live without him. So I have to survive.. she thought to herself, swallowing a little more. But did she want to live without him?

Lately, she noticed the way he was always watching her; it made her a little uneasy, but she couldn't say anything against it. He'd been by her since she could remember. Why not let him look at her? Bailey was oblivious to the fact she grew into an adult that had a certain appeal to males. She still thought herself a little cub who just wanted to play with her brother all day.

As Cáel glanced around the plains, he suddenly heard the sound of another Saighneian nearby. Turning his head to look in that direction, he saw it was a Saigh with a reddish-brown coat. Hmm. Perhaps they might be able to help me investigate the forest... Cáel thought to himself. After getting up and stretching out his legs, the greyish-white male started off in the direction of the hill at a moderate pace. He didn't want to startle the female, so Cáel called out a greeting when he got close enough. "Hello there."

Of all the days to meet a new male and her brother wasn't even here. Of course not. That'd be to easy for her. With her ears down, the female wasn't exactly startled so much as she didn't know what to do. Her twin made all the first moves with new Saigh in the past. Why hadn't she been paying attention?

Clearing her throat, she let her ears raise up a little bit and then gave the male a tentative smile. "H-hello...." she said, voice cracking a bit, clearly uncomfortable, but trying not to show it.

Smiling warmly, Cáel sat down near the female, close by, but not so near that it could be taken as an intrusion, since she seemed a bit nervous to him. "I'm Cáel. I heard you calling out earlier. Are you waiting for someone?" he asked, at first wondering why she seemed so uneasy, but eventually dismissing the thought and convincing himself she could just be shy. Some Saigh were like that. They were just more cautious than others.

"I.... uhm.. Was waiting.. for my twin..." she said quietly, keeping to herself, swallowing a little bit. She licked her muzzle a few times before sighing. He didn't seem like he wanted to attack her. More like he wanted to talk. Though why he wanted to talk to her was beyond Bailey's comprehension. "I don't.... know where he is. He said he'd be gone for a few days.. First time... we've been separated..." Bailey gave a little fake laugh and then just shook her head with a sigh. "Sorry..."

Nodding his head in acknowledgment, Cáel replied, "I see. You must be feeling lonely without him. I sort of know what that's like. I haven't had anyone to talk to for a while out here." He actually was a bit lonely too, now that he thought about it. "Well, if you're not too busy, I was thinking of going exploring. I just couldn't find anyone to go with me. Would you like to come along? But before that, I need to know your name, since I already mentioned mine." the male added, smiling encouragingly.

She blinked at that and thought a moment. She really hadn't introduced herself, had she? "Oh, I'm sorry.... I'm... Bailey. And yeah.. I'm always afraid without him.." She murmured under her breath, head hanging with a hard sigh.

Go where now? An adventure didn't honestly appeal to this girl. But it was a chance to make a friend, so why not go along with it? Besides, he didn't look like he'd get her into any trouble. He looked nice and honest, kind of like her brother.

"...alright... I guess it won't hurt me to go with."
