The UNSC Titan is one of the few Carrier-Class Ships remaining in the UNSC Fleet. It carries two-platoons of Marines, twice the amount of the UNSC Cruiser, the Armengald, and a small contingent of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. It has ten Pelicans, six Scorpion MBT's, twenty Warthogs of different classes, and six Longsword Interceptors.

Its ship-to-ship based weapons are lacking when compared to other ships. It has only forty over-sized Archer Missile Pods, three Nuclear-tipped Missiles, dozens of MLA Cannons, and a medium-sized MAC Cannon that's not as powerful as a Crusiers.

It is one of the ships sent to Theta Halo, and is also protected by its escort ships. The UNSC Shinobi and Ambien are Frigate-Class ships sent to defend the Armengald and the Titan on this mission. The Carrier is an invaluable asset in this mission and, if lost, could result in losing control of the ring-world known as Theta Halo.

Captain Vincent Millay stood on the bridge of his Carrier, the UNSC Titan. He eyed the star-chart that showed their battle-group, which was made up of his Carrier, the UNSC Armengald, and their escort ships, the UNSC Shinobi and Ambien. Their battle-group was in orbit around the ring-shaped world known as Halo. He also saw the Covenant forces, which they had dodged before thanks to sheer luck and nothing more. He sighed quietly as he tried to think of a way to stall for more time, perhaps using a few of their nuclear warheads on the Covenant Fleet would slow them down, but that would only delay the inevitable. They simply didn't have the forces necessary to deal with their technologically advanced enemies. Their escort ships were simple Frigates. Their most powerful ship in the group was the Cruiser, but against the superior numbers of the Covenant, even that advantage wouldn't last long. All they could do now was stall for more time, and wait for the ground teams to finish what they've started.

Captain Millay went over the list of ships that would make the first drop from the Titan down to Theta Halo. Echos: 401, 729, 601, 643, 823, 346, 886, and 119. There was Dropship Victor 923, which Major Gaborn Val Orden would be riding down to Alpha Base, and Dropship Bravo 209 would be taking down a few technicians to help with the defenses. Echos 401 and 601 would be taking down two Scorpion MBT's with them. The rest would take down Warthogs to add a few vehicles into the battles down on the ring. Adding to all of this, of course, was how each Pelican would be taking down twelve Marines each. So, he was sending ten Pelicans, two MBT's, eight Warthogs, and one-hundred and twenty men down to Theta Halo. That might help to even the odds against the Covenant ground forces. A slight grin tugged at the corner of his mouth at the thought of beating back the Covenant, and he quickly keyed the COM: "This is the Captain. Platoon Alpha has twenty minutes to get to their designated Pelicans. After primary systems checks you will be leaving the comfort of this ship to assist those already on Theta Halo. Your new home will be Alpha Base, and your mission will be to keep it from falling into enemy hands. All units will be reporting to Major Orden once you hit the dirt. I wish you all the best of luck. Millay out."

After listening to the captain speak over the COM, Major Orden quickly made his way to the weapon's lockers. After a moment of musing over the weapons, he chose a BR55 Battle Rifle and a Magnum Pistol to bring with him on the trip down. He checked the ammunition and grabbed a few spare clips for each weapon as well as three grenades. He made sure the safeties were engaged and the weapons secure before he decided to head for the Pelican. He managed to make it there without wasting much time and he was surprised that everyone was already waiting for him. They must be anxious, he thought. One individual separated from the others and approached him.
"Systems checks completed, sir. We're ready when you are." the marine stated.
Major Orden approached the COM and glanced back at his troops for a moment before keying it.
"This is Platoon Alpha. Systems checks completed. Requesting permission for departure. Over."

The Captain clicked the COM on once again before responding: "Alpha Platoon is green to depart immediately, Major. Take care of Alpha Base operations from this point on. Millay out." He clicked off the COM and looked over the unit listings once more.

"Thank you, sir. Good luck holding down the fort while we're gone."
Major Orden turned to the marines nearest him and called out: "Alright! Let's get on board and I want to be out of here in a matter of minutes! Let's move!"
Everyone around him immediately turned and headed for their designated ships. He himself scanned the area for the Pelican he needed to be on. After he located it, he jogged over and went inside. He checked outside the ship to make sure everyone had made it to their Pelicans. Satisfied that everyone was ready, and hearing the engines roar to life, he went back inside. He walked up to the cockpit, marking in his mind that everyone was where they needed to be. Once in the cockpit, he addressed the pilot.
"Okay. I don't know about you, but I think it's time we get down there where the real fight is. Take us on out. Let's show everyone what we're made of."

Lieutenant Strife was first to report in: "Sir! All dropships have successfully left the docking bay and are descending into Halo's upper atmosphere now. The Pelican in the lead is Dropship Victor 923, the Major's, and is due to reach Alpha Base in ten minutes. "Good...Make sure you keep track of all of them..." The Captain patted the Lieutenant on the shoulder once before heading back over to his monitor, going over their current weapons status and where the Covenant Fleet was, hoping he wouldn't have to worry about anything on Theta Halo for a while.

Millay grinned as he went over the decoded official report they had received from Alpha Base:

He sighed softly as he pressed enter, reaching up with one hand to rub both of his eyes gently as he thought. This was a good sign, as they now had things organized on Halo, and could begin other operations, rather than thinking only of survival. He pushed away the holo-panel attached to his chair and stood, walking over to the external monitors that were fixed on Theta Halo. He stared at them as he thought of how many would make it off of the ring alive.

He watched one of the NAV displays as he counted the Pelicans returning to the Titan. They would only be leaving Echos 119 and 601 down there, along with Victor 923. He knew they couldn't house all of their Pelicans at Alpha Base. If they tried, they might be destroyed or damaged. He wasn't going to risk losing the only way to retrieve a large number of Marines from Halo. Alpha Base simply didn't have the room to keep the dropships. That place also wouldn't be able to contain the other one-hundred and twenty Marines still calling the Titan their home. He began considering making another base on Theta Halo. They would have a much stronger force on the ring, but did they have the resources to maintain two strongholds? Also, if they needed to get all of them off of that ring in a hurry, they wouldn't be able to make two trips. He mulled this idea over before dumping it. Alpha Base would have to make due with what they've got.
