There are many different types and styles of photography, just like there are different types and styles of paintings, and drawings, so, which is your favorite?
my favorite is black and white photography. Using a simple subject on a simple background with black and white film. like shooting a person with a short DOF against a mostly black background.

Black and white with distortion techniques. My favorites are selective developing and solarizing.
Anthotype is also a really fun process. It's qhere you use the photosynthetic chemicals in a plants as the emulsion on the paper you're printing on.

Anthotype, eh? *Googles* Interesting...
I like to try my hand at as many photography styles as possible. I've done the basics with my digital camera (portraiture, landscape, night landscape, action, night action, macro, etc.). I've used my Holga only a few times, but I do like the aesthetic of it. I just need to meter with it. 0_o

the only time i've seen a black and white bride photo not work is when the bride was actually black. she was a beautiful woman, but the black and white shot was not flattering. sweatdrop

A girl in my photo class last year was apprenticing for a wedding photographer who was covering a black woman's wedding. she tried changing it to black and white because she likes black and white bride shots to... that one didn't work.

I just started photography myself so I'm still trying to find my own comfort zone. I have a lot of portrait (both bw and color), landscape, nature, and such. I'm starting to really enjoy a lot of landscape and architechture work though.

Landscapes are pretty when you do them right. tho, I hear a lot of people complaining about them saying they are "Cheating" or not really art, or other crap like that. I dont think they realize how much it really takes to get a good landscape shot. rolleyes

I like landscapes but it really is hard to get a good shot. Typically I "focus" (haha pun!) on Macro work. Finding something special in the mundane world - looking at everything in a different way that makes it new. I've been just starting to dabble in HDR landscapes too - I've only done one so far but the results are just too cool!
