The sun set, darkness of night was enveloping the land. Within the earth several creatures stirred and awoke. One such creature silently padded it's way to the entrance of it's family lair and yawned wide as it stretched.
"Mmmm beautiful night...." His bright eyes almost glowed in the darkness as Kunar looked up to the sky. Graceful and delicate, he turned down a familiar path. He hungered tonight, hadn't fed in a few days. The hunger was urgent enough to draw him out early from the lair, even as his fathers and brother were still just waking. With a knowing grin he began his hunt, searching for prey big enough to satisfy his rising need.

A lioness fresh into adulthood was strolling beneath the moons light admiring the beauty of the cool night. What brought her out alone was beyond her but she had an itch that need to be scratched. That itch was the need to explore on her own and without her parents ever watchful eye. She was sure that her mother and father would be worried, same could probably be said about her siblings but this was just something that she needed to do.
Soon she came to a halt when she noticed some flowers that never seemed to be open during the day. Night blossoms is what her mother often called them. Without even realizing, she came to sit and admire it's beauty.

Silent as a shadow, he continued on. An eerie silence accompanied him in the darkness as the usual night animals held their collective breaths until he passed by. In reality he was no harm to them. Not tonight. Tonight he wanted big prey. And as his eyes alighted on a lone figure sitting just beyond the trees, he smirked. Looks like he'd get his wish.
He snuck around behind the figure and came closer for a better look. An adult. Female by the scent of her. He preferred males, but tonight he wouldn't be picky. Just what was she doing this deep into the forest all alone? Not that it wasn't completely lucky for him...
Plastering a sweet smile on his face (not so hard since he was usually smiling), he sauntered forth from the shadows, purposely making noise now to draw attention to himself and not spook her.

Her ears perked when the new sound presented itself and so she looked up. Had she been sought out by her parents? No...it was a male...female? She sniffed the air gathering the scent of the other. A male? But he was so pretty...too pretty to be a boy. Oh well, no reason not to say hello to him. After all he'd not done her any wrong.
"Hello."

"Hello! You seem a bit lonely. What brings you out to our neck of the woods, so to speak?"
He walked up, still smiling happily. Bright eyes caught sight of the night blossoms. "Ooooh! You found a good patch of 'em! So very pretty."
He was incredibly feminine. He wasn't just pretty, his actions and demeanor, at least so far, screamed "FEMALE!". Hey, he couldn't help it if he'd turned out even more convincing than even his father Nori. He was just that good.

"Lonely? Oh no...I just wanted to explore is all. I live not too far from here but I didn't realize just how far out I went. I hope I'm not trespassing."
She couldn't help but shy away from him. Yes she had tried to be friendly but the fact of the matter was, she didn't know him and she'd not quite got the hand of conversing with others without the company of her family so she was still rather shy when it came to such tasks.
"Yeah, my mama calls them night blossoms. I think this is only spot I've ever seen them...but usually it's during the day.

Kunar smirked and flicked his tail.
"Actually there's a few small patches around the forest. Kind of sprinkled here and there really. But this is one of the bigger ones. As for trespassing..." He gave her a delicate little shrug and sigh. "Not really. But you are in territory that could be pretty dangerous at night. It all depends, of course..." He brought up a paw, suddenly interested in one of his claws, much like a woman looking at her nails.

"Oh, I'll make sure to keep an eye out for them then." She had offered him a smile but that soon faded with the last bit of his sentence. His mannerisms were unlike any male she'd come across...hell his appearance were unlike any male she'd come across. "Depends? Depends...on what?" She nearly gulped at the prospect of something dangerous and scary being out there.

He gave that little shrug again, a smile spreading on his lips this time as he looked straight at her.
"Depends, depends... on whether you're willing to shed some blood and be a quick snack. If your willing of course it's not so scary. But if your not..." And now one would notice his fangs were rather unusually long. " ...I suppose this could turn out to be the scariest night of your existence..." He flicked his tail. "Take your pick."

She'd seen many sights before. Lions like herself that wore clothes, lions that had shells on their backs and resembled turtles, others with wings and scales. It was only a matter of time before she came to see one with long fangs. What was it her mom called them...vampires? She did remember her mom saying that they could be dangerous but she also remembered them saying that they could be cool too, just like everyone else.
Still thinking about all that, she wasn't too keen on shedding blood. "But...won't it hurt? I don't like things that hurt..."

Kunar gave it a moment's thought, then shrugged.
"It always hurts a little. I have to pierce your skin and muscle tissue to get to the big arteries where I can take the blood I need. Of course, there's always exceptions. If you're willing, and not afraid, it'll only hurt at first, then the pain numbs and gives way to pleasant feeling." He smirked now and gave her a sultry look. "If we were making love then it'd turn into super-orgasmic pleasure enough to make you see stars."
For a moment, he turned from her, sticking his nose in the air. "BUT! That's for me and my mate...who I need to eventually find." He looked at her again, with raised eyebrows. "And I'm sure you can really tell I'm more into males than females. After all, I think I might look even more female than even you and you're the real deal."

She frowned for a moment at the confirmation of pain but...something told her to just go ahead and do it. He needed her blood right now and it wouldn't be right to deny him of something he needed.
"Oh you mean bumping uglies? Well of course I'd see stars. You don't have much of a choice. Can't really do that during the day since you'd be sleeping silly." She couldn't help but giggle at the thought of him sleep humping. Alright that's naughty. Time to push bad thoughts to the side.
"Oh I know that's for your mate only. You don't seem like the kind of girl...err guy to sleep around." She paused for a moment, then gave a soft sigh and closed her eyes. "Well...ok. But hurry while I still have my courage." She tilted her head to the side and exposed her neck. "Just try not to take to much."

Kunar smiled and waved away her fears. "I don't need much. Just enough to sustain myself. And since you didn't utterly bolt on me, we could hang out tonight."
He really was genuinely happy as he pulled up and held her close. A moment later she'd feel the sting of his bite, which hurt only for a moment before it gave away to, at first, a numbing sensation, then a pleasant feeling that radiated from the bite area to the rest of her body. He drank his fill then pulled away, giving the wounds a lick to seal them. They would be completely gone by sunrise.
With his thirst sated he felt revived and full of energy. "I so don't see why my dad can't get over biting others. So....delicious, satisfying. He so doesn't know what he's missing."

"Hang out?! Really?"
Her eyes had become bright with hope and excitement. Her first friend and her first hangout session with someone other than her family. She couldn't believe it or how exceptionally well this was all going. She had thought that her first go around when meeting someone would be awkward and pretty silent but not this....
The sting of his bite brought her from her thoughts and she nearly pulled away, but his hold and something in her kept her still. Knowledge that if she moved, his fangs would drag and that would just lead to more ouchies. Thankfully the pain quickly subsided and grew into pleasure which drew forth a purr. Before she knew it, he'd moved away. His voice is what brought her back to reality.
"Maybe it's the fact that it hurts others...even if the pain does just last for a little while..."

Kunar smirked. "Oooh no. Said father hunts his food anyway. So it's not that. Besides. He likes it enough, himself." He winked, letting her absorb the meaning of that before standing and stretching.
"So. Seeing as this is your first time around these parts, let me show you around the few landmarks we got. After all, I wouldn't want you getting lost around here. And if you ever get into trouble you could always hide out with us. Unless, y'know, you're afraid of bunking down with a family of vampires." He shrugged with a smirk, but his eyes were hopeful.
