Why this song? To me a hum is instinctive, the most simplistic music possible. It has a deep warm beat like a heart, living and it’s gentle and soft.


Physical Description: The most striking feature with ‘Rish is his hair. It’s bright coppery brown in color and tends to tightly curl when short much to his cousin’s envy and his disgust. His nose has been broken twice and while set both times is a bit crooked. Hazel eyes, set a tad far apart with long lashes he has tried to cut with his grandmun scissors when six after being teased. That mishap gave him the small thin scar across brow bone to the edge of his eyebrow she was not very pleased with him. His upper lip is thinner then his bottom and has a strong chin. He is built. Not muscles popping out of his clothing built but more along the line of construction/farm hand built. The type of muscles you get with hard physical work. 5’11’’ in height and around 180-190lbs.
His skin tone is olive and he has a few smaller scars from various scraps and roughhousing when he was in that rebellious stage.

Hhmmm fears and faults
He finds most insects to be quite creepy. He is a bit afraid his father is going to pop up some day out of no where and bother his mother or try and hit on his cousin. He is a bit worry his grandmother who was not doing well; last he heard, will end up dying when he's away from the house.


Personality: ‘Rish is a lot of things, one thing that drives him is this explosion of energy, he has high stamina and is very gestural when he speaks often using his hand motions and etc to get points across. He has a very high metabolism and such he needs quite an intake of food to keep this going. Sometimes it is hard for him to sleep and the lack of rest can make him become a total clumsy spazz with way to much energy for his own good. Attach to that his rather active imagination and you can get ‘Rish babble that makes absolutely no sense what ever.

‘Rish doesn’t plan his day, -unless watched and ordered- he often just does what comes to him in a spontaneous thought. Projects and papers tend to be left till the last day due ‘cause then he is driven to get them done. When at home his cousin worked on keeping him in line, now his teachers do unless he has free time. Improvise, is a ‘Rish’s word. If he doesn’t have it he’ll cobble something up to make do and it’s not uncommon for him to suddenly sprout what seems nonsense in thin air or start scribbling in dirt when he solves a problem no matter where he’s at. It doesn’t matter if it’s a formal dinner party, during a teacher’s lecture, everyone probably going to hear about it since he is not a very quite person.

Empathy, ‘Rish is the type of person to approach someone upset, hunker down and ask if they want to talk about it. If they speak he’ll listen not making any comments unless called for, if refused well he’s the type to get them a cup of warm milk, a slightly damp cloth to clean up after any tears. He has also learned that most people don’t want to listen to his own problems…such he tends to bottle them up till he can’t take it and ends up disappearing for a day. Which while okay at home…has gotten him close to losing his apprentice a few times when he disappears with out leave or permission. He is also sort of afraid he’ll loose his apprenticeship because he disappeared two days to the beach in a fit of homesickness and couldn’t give his master a good answer because he didn’t want to burden him with his problems. It is his problem he can handle it.


Cheerful, his grandmun would stay ‘ he’s contagious.’ Being around him can at times lift someone’s mood. He smiles easy, and has just this up beat attitude. Sometimes this can fall into the category of plan silliness.

‘Rish is the type of person more likely to shoo a spider on a piece of paper and gentle set it outside then to squash it. *Does Pern have spiders?* He got into a few tumbles when he was younger 6/7 but now he’s more likely to try to use words or attempt to restrain his attacker then throw a punch. He is male and sometimes his temper will get the better of him. Even gentle cheerful people can get angry when pushed to far.

History – Brishen is the sole child of his single mother and is originally from Southern Boll hold but he been living at Ista for the last three years for his apprenticeship in glass smiting. Before that he tried a few years of learning weaving craft from his mother and gran, and before that tried a year of at Fort attempting to be a Harper. He was unable to sit still and have the intense concentration needed for weaving and he fails at any instrument but percussion. His voice though has grown into a warm deep rich sound and he’ll sing songs often created in the spur of the moment.

‘Rish use to be call Wish when he was very young cause his cousin could not pronounce his name right when she came to live with them. Instead of Brishen she would say Wishen which shorten to Wish. He started to get teased by some older children when 6 or so and being young and rash got into a few tumbles till he finally insisted his nick name to be changed. Other wise he was a very bright cheery little thing that often climbed trees, cliffs, and ran along the beaches to collect shells and herbs for his grandma.

Other/Talents: He can cook, he loves it actually. Can sew up neatly small rips, shorten or unstitch a hem on a piece of clothing. He can sing his voice is rather rich and deep. He can also dance.

He got in a few fights when he was around 6 and 7 but never after that.
I had to try it out but I have to agree with you...it's to difficult and tends to explode into a tangle web of oddness.

I revised his personality and a bit of his history to compact it a bit. Hope this helps ^^
