Spotted this on dutch news site Geen Stijl, it's a video made by a cam exploring the sewages of Cameron Village in the us(don't know the state) It portrays an odd lifeform of which the exact species is unclear. Click here. (Link now working again) EDIT: and an update on such creatures taking over our dearest planet! A huge black blob of goo is terrorising the Arctic in the Chukchi sea. It has been noted that the blob is infact not an oil spill and they suspect that it is like the sewer creatures family of the bryozoa. Unlike their family in the sewer... this one however is 15 kilometres long... More info here and a vague clip showing its sheer size here.

Oh, damnation...It was removed. SoA, please look around and see if anyone else posted it, elsewhere. In the meantime, of those of you who had seen it, what did you think? I'm quite eager to hear your thoughts, especially if you wikied or googled the creatures speculated by the commentors.

Because i am super cool i did some research on this. Here is a quote i found here http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread477655/pg1"These creatures were found in the sewer under Cameron Village in Raleigh, NC. Speculation 'round the campfire is that they're bryozoans, although there's some debate about that. Other theories floated: cnideria, slime molds, and shoggoth spawn. "

Well, that thing is most certainly massive. Any speculation that that thing is an oil spill, planted or not, can be thrown out the window just by looking at that thing. Oil would be spreading out much, much more than that, I would imagine, and would make it seem to shimmer a little.
Something like that most certainly looks alien, though, I must admit, but then again... most anything suddenly appearing out of the bowels of the sea floor seems rather alien to us- after all, we are surface dwellers. In any case, thanks for the find, SoA! I'll be interested in finding out just what this thing is, though a lot of the speculation seems to point to algae of some kind that was kicked up, though that wouldn't explain why it seems to be avoiding the shores, according to that article.

Wow...Rather chilling, when you take it's size and the skeletonized goose in together. It's hard not to think of the blob and various Lovecraftian horrors when I read this. Has anyone else heard any mention of this on the news, anywhere? I haven't, and the idea that no one else has touched it seems incredibly odd to me. Looking at the two, one must wonder if this is really related to the thing in the sewers. This thing...Was it freshwater or saltwater? It's a considerable distance away, too. Besides, the thing in the sewer definitely looked like some sort of meat, but as I'm not a biologist I won't say that it couldn't be. It would be quite the coincidence, otherwise. It's in Alaska, so does anyone think it might be a divine creature sent by the heavens to destroy Palin and save America from it's own idiocy? I'm being facetious, of course, and would not like the course of the conversation to be on this, but that truly would be a case of God blessing America. Fascinating stuff, in any case. I really want to see what comes of this.

Well this happening in the Chukchi sea isn't so much related to the story of the sewer dwellers as that the lifeform may possible be of the same family. I'm really curious though why the regular news has not touched it a single bit. If an oilspill would have grown to such a size it would have been all over the news and obviously some are afraid that these cases will induce mass hysteria.
