Alright, so, I recently started playing DnD 4th Edition with a few of my Real Life friends. Yes, I have them, amazing, I know. xd

Anyway, I know at least a few people in here like DnD, so I figured I'd toss this thread up here to get an idea of people that might be interested in doing an online campaign since RPing has slowed down a bit as of late.

So far, here are the particulars...

DEFINITES -
The game will be DnD 4th Edition.
It will be online.
We'll be aiming for a party of 4 to 5 PCs/maybe one DM character.
Expect some custom rules thrown in for flavor and added fun.
We won't be meeting on a regular schedule, just when everyone is around and or feels like playing.

MAYBES -
I seem to have volunteered to be DM, so we're going with that for the time being.
We'll probably be using the Levi Vent Server for chatting since its readily available.
We will likely be using some sort of online program to coordinate everything.
If we can't find a community dice rolling thing, we may do honor system, or just use a thread for individual rolls.

Obviously those things will change as we develop this more, but the thread is mostly for getting an idea of interest, and gathering people who might want to actually try this.

INTERESTED PARTIES
Ryugi Kazamaru (DM Position)
Ammiel Moonblade - "Human Wizard"
Sutiiven - "Human Rogue"
Vintrict/Yusuke - "Halfling Sorcerer / Wild Magic"
Akemi Mercuraki/Akira - "Dwarf Warlock"
Psychofish - "Half-Orc Fighter"
Slifer Ozura - "Deva Cleric"
Enki Leviathan
Designated Hero/DESI - "Human Paladin"

POSSIBLES/MAYBES
Ragingtofu
Josh/themightyjello - "Warforged Warlord"

Important Links:
Gametable Download - This is what we'll be using to play online as far as map and probably dice rolls.

4th Edition Fillable Character Sheet in PDF Format - So you can easily keep track of your stats.

Important Info:
Everyone starts at Level 1.

For ease of online play, everyone should use the Standard Array for stats.
Quote:
Standard Array
Take these six numbers and assign them to your abilities any way you like: 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10.
Apply your racial ability adjustments after you assign the scores to your abilities.

I'm being generous and giving everyone 200 Gold to start with.

I'll allow any 4th Edition Books, however, if I, personally, don't have the books to back up your stuff, you'll have to show me where you got it, otherwise expect "bullshit" to be called.

Right now the decided Party Size is 4. I may consider upping it to 5 if we end up getting too many characters in the standby pool, or based on heavy consensus to do so.

I think I still have the majority of my Leviathan RP somewhere on my computer... 2 months of hard work... I can look and see if it's still chilling somewhere and you can go ahead and use what I have

Anything that could help right now would be great.

Mainly, we're still looking for people and resources to do this online.

Maptools and OpenRPG are two programs you can look at for real time D&D rping. Mind you, aim chatroom is just as convenient if you don't like those virtual desktop programs, since aim supplies dice in chatrooms. All you have to do is type in what happens, which worked well for a few adventures I went through. So, whichever is comfortable for you, use it.

As for my availability, I wouldn't mind getting into something like this.

I told you it was 4th edition Akira. gonk It hasn't taken me that long to learn, and its the first I've played.

And yeah, basically you voice your interest here.

I think that, thusfar, the biggest interest is "Make it 3.5 and we're good."

All I know is 4.0. sweatdrop And I don't really have any problems with it. I think people are more keen on 3.5 because they're more used to it, and know all its ins and outs, whereas they don't like 4.0 because its still new to them.

Or cause 4.0, as far as I'm aware, has problem with it that need to just be ignored

But I don't I barely played.
Most of what I know are from old issues of dragon who are about 3.5 about.

I think people are more keen on 3.5 because they're more used to it, and know all its ins and outs, whereas they don't like 4.0 because its still new to them.

Or because 4.0 has more or less removed everything about D&D that exists outside of combat and the majority of your options at any given point.
