(( Adhabu'Shinda - Manda
H'ray'ii - o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o ))
The white lioness awoke in the wee hours of the morning, much to her dismay. With a groan, she reluctantly dragged herself to her feet, dizzily stumbling over to a nearby tree. She'd been all right...had waited a while before going to sleep, and had started to feel better, so both she and Adhabu had decided that it should be all right for her to rest. But now she felt nauseous, like she'd just hit her head all over again, and with a whimper, she felt her insides clench...oh...that was so not good. Heaving, she tried her best to keep dinner down...but it was to little avail. Nnn...stupid head.
At first, Adhabu just stirred a little when she moved, not realizing something was wrong. But an ear flicked at the noises the lioness was making over there, and then brown eyes blicked open and he rolled over a bit. "H'ray'ii...?" he called softly, sounding just a bit muzzy from sleep.
Spitting again, trying to get the awful taste of the half-digested contents of her stomach out of her mouth, she spared him a mournful glance. "Don't...feel well..." She murmured softly, hacking again and then shaking her head. Ugh, but that was nasty. Oh she was so never doing that again...stupid antelope...why'd he have to be so mean anyway?
Oh dear... Adhabu made a little soothing sound, almost a purr, and nosed at her shoulder. "You probably just went to sleep too soon or something..." he offered. "Wasn't there a little stream close by? Do you want some water..?"
"P-probably....this is so dumb..." She grumbled, more at herself than anything. Shaking ever so slightly, she felt a little bit better now, and tilting her head to look up at the male, H'ray'ii smiled weakly. "Water sounds nice...but the getting there might be just a little...tough..." Though leaning on the other...it might not be so bad.
Adhabu nudged gently at that shoulder, glad that he was large enough now to offer her some support. "Lean on me... it wasn't far. I'll help you," he murmured, whuffling softly. He knew, then, that he was going to stay out here with her... until he knew she was okay. He could tell his brother and the others that -he- had been the one hurt if they asked.
A very slow nod then, as any movement of her head stung fiercely, and leaning against the male with a soft sound of relief, they headed towards the stream. "M'sorry...I've proved to be such trouble..." And towards such a handsome male too, it really was mortifying to be found in this position, even if she had been helping him when it had happened.
"It isn't your fault," Adhabu replied softly, going up to the edge of the stream and then sitting down carefully. "Sometimes things just ... happen." He only hoped that she -would- be okay. He'd heard of others who hadn't died from such things, but -had- had sort of... dizzy spells and the like for the rest of their lives.
Carefully she crouched, dipping her muzzle into the water and lapping slowly. Mmm...that felt nice to her abused throat, and seemed to steady her a bit if nothing else. Sighing, she then set her head on her paws. Ah, but she didn't want to get up now that she was down, how very unfair that movement was required. "I know...but I did get in the way..."
"And... as odd as this sounds, it helped bring the prey down," Adhabu pointed out with a little rumble. Noticing the way she was just... lying there, he moved to settle beside here. "Want to stay here now...?" he asked with a faint smile. If not for leaving the antelope where scavengers could get at it, it might not be a bad idea. But...
"Ah...no, it's all right...I just need a moment to make the world stop swaying, you know?" She replied softly, yawning quietly, shifting to rest her head against the larger lion's shoulder. Goodness but he was big...a large, strong male, much like her sire. She remembered him, though not too well...only that he'd been massive, and her petite mother had been dwarfed by him. Mmm...perhaps that was part of why she trusted Adhabu so easily.
Adhabu nodded at that, and yawned slightly himself, echoing H'ray'ii. Mmn, those were rather contagious. "That's all right... I don't think anything will come and steal the antelope too quickly. Before they went to sleep earlier, he had made sure that it was -very- clear who the area 'belonged' to, for the moment.
"Ok...then....maybe...don't really want to move all that much..." She murmured, eyelids fluttering. "D'you think it's ok if I sleep? I don't know if...I wanna wake up like that again?" It really did stink when that happened, and it hurt too! She'd almost never been sick in her young life! She was a healthy cub! This was utterly ridiculous and all because some dumb preybeast had gotten in a lucky punch, as it were.
"Well... there's not much more than can come out, right?" Adhabu replied, logically. Though perhaps a bit insensitively as well. But ... he was male.
She blinked at him for a moment, surprised..and then she laughed. Well it was true, but what a silly thing to say. "I suppose that's so..." She replied, and carefully tilting her head so as to use one massive shoulder for a pillow, H'ray'ii yawned again. "You're comfy..." the lioness mumbled, already trying to find dreamland again.
He was somehow relieved at that... having realized a second later that he was maybe not being so nice. But now, he rumbled in reply to that and nuzzled gently at one ear, a comforting motion. "Why thank you..."
Her smile widened, and she whuffled wearily. "Welcome...thank you too...for being so nice. You're the nicest fellow I've met yet I think..." Not that she'd met a lot of them, but....well, Adhabu had been so kind to her, nursed her, fed her. Too bad he was tied to a pride and couldn't come with her in her journeys....what fun they might have had together. With that thought in mind, she relaxed utterly...and began to drift off to sleep.
Adhabu purred at that, and carefully ... laid his chin atop her neck. Streams were a gathering point. If anything came along to drink that could be dangerous, he would protect her. He owed her that much at the least.
