Looking at her you could tell she was different from that little cub she had once been. Apart from being bigger, the most obvious change was the fact that her wings were on full display. As a youth, Roko had taken great pains to hide who she was and now, it seemed, she didn't care who saw her for what she truly was.

Those wings flapped erratically now as she tried desperately to free her tail from beneath the paw of a large, rogue male - bigger than her but somehow dwarfed by her wings.

What most wouldn't know that the change had come with the switch of dominance over her personalities. Innocent, sweet, timid little Roko had been overruled by Pelli. Whilst not vicious or horrible, she did hold anger and she did have the habit of misusing her power. Such was the time when she'd tried to fix the foggy sight of the rogue pinning her now. She'd ended up breaking her mind and now their thoughts were intertwined, confusing both the Goddess and the rogue almost witless.

"LET GO!!" She was yelling. "Let go of us right nowses! Else we'll push you away just like before!"

"No, Pelli." A quieter voice whined. "No more bad power."

But it was too late, the Goddess' purple eye flared and the poor male was flung back across the dusty lands. This wasn't the first time it had happened.

Coughing as dust filled his lungs he dragged himself up to his feet, noting that the girl seemed to be getting stronger every time she used that weird power on him. It wasn't going to stop him from at least attempting to keep control of this situation, however.

~What are we going to do, Pelli?~

~I don't know. Don't ask me.~

That voice! That irritating voice! Was it not enough that he had to hear the words coming from her mouth? Did he have to hear her thoughts too? He dragged himself away to quieten the sound and sent her an angry glare.

"You're thinking of running, aren't you?" He mumbled angrily.

While Roko had grown and vastly changed from the last time they had met, Koya hadn't really changed at all. She was still wandering around, attempting to find a place for herself in the mortal world. At the current moment, she was searching for her family members and attempting to make amends for the curse she had caused to be laid upon her bloodline. She had had great success with the first member she had found, a white lioness called Amesi. The boisterous youngster had been completely thrilled to have a goddess as a relative, and had been more than happy to travel with her. The second, however, wasn't so cooperative. Corradin denied all that the silver goddess had told him, and had run away from her yet again.

Sighing, she wandering through the tall grasses, not bothering to check her surroundings. She was too lost in her own thoughts to bother much with anything else. Her wings dragged limp across the ground and gathered dirt as she walked.

She was about to stop and perhaps go back to Amesi, since she hated leaving the other alone for a long period of time, when she suddenly heard voices. This had happened once before, and last time she had believed herself to be going mad. But she had theh sense to lift her head and scan the area around her. She didn't see anyone immediately, but she heard a thud, as if something was being thrown against the ground. This caught her interest, and she tilted her head quizzically.

"Hello?" she called out tentatively. Her wings lifted from the ground and folded tightly against her body. She was ready to cast an illusion if the situation proved dangerous, but first she wanted to see what all the ruckus was about.

Moving forward, she caught a glimpse of two figures, and one of them had giant and brightly colored wings. Instantly, Koya's spirits lifted and she quickened her pace. "Rokopelli!" she called out, happy to once again find the goddess well and in good health. It seemed that Roko had grown significantly and was now a beautiful young goddess. "Roko, I missed you!" As she finished those words, the silver goddess came to a suddent halt in front of the other.

"It's me, Koya."

She opened her mouth and attempted to think of a short, snappy response to the big oaf of a male. What did Illena see in him? He was a big grouch who was just no fun! Silly mean boy! She fluffed up her wings and settled on calling him a big, stupid meanie, when suddenly someone was calling her name.

Her eyes flickered with confusion and for a moment she turned her head this way and that. A moment later and she spotted the silver and white female running towards her. Ah! Was she being attacked now?! She bounced backwards in dismay and was about to call out for help when she realised something.

This one knew her name?

Wait! She recognised her! A name...a name...oh, that's right--!

"Mummy Koya!" Her voices intermingled, became one. For although there were many things her personalities disagreed on, there was one thing they were in unison about. They loved this female for she had helped them. She was a true mother. "Mummy Koya!" She moved towards her, pressing her muzzle to her cheek, purring and wriggling with excitement. "We can't believe it's you! We...we....oh...are you madses, Mummy? We didn't mean to run away from the desert. We just...we upset Nyoka. Made him real mad. Ran away and then...couldn't remember the way back." She sniffed, glancing around as if expecting to see the snake with her.

Alas, he was not.

"Nyoka not with you, Mummy?"

Oh great, this new one was the mad ones mother? This spelt more trouble if Cassian's senses were still in working order. He glanced between the two, thinking that there wasn't much of a resemblance between them. Wondering if Rokopelli had made a mistake.

Then again, this Koya seemed to know her, too.

Growling, he lowered his head and watched them silently, moodily, through tresses of black mane.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 29, 2009 12:45 pm

Koya had been fearful that perhaps her friend wouldn't remember her. It had been quite a long time since they had last seen each other, but the silver female hadn't changed in the slightest bit. She was still the same size, the same color, the same basic health. But as Roko leaped backwards and appeared frightened, she thought that perhaps this was a bad idea. She should have chosen a different approach, one that didn't seem so forward.

Yet then the other called out her name and moved forward, complete recognition setting in. The goddess of the past sighed with relief. She needed a friendly face right now, and she was glad she had found one.

Chuckling slightly, she smiled warmly and nuzzled Roko in return. It felt like only yesterday that she could lick the top of her head and cradle her within her wings. Now, however, with Rokopelli in adolescence, they were almost the same size and Koya would have had to stretch in order to get to the top of her head.

"Oh, but why would I be mad?" she asked quietly, wondering what had happened while she was away on her personal mission. She felt bad for having left the younger lioness, but it was a strong urge to make amends with her past that had caused her to set out on her own. Had leaving her somehow caused Roko to get herself in some trouble?

"No, no, I'm not mad," she assured the other. "I'm the one that should be sorry, for leaving you like I did. I just.." What was there to say? There really was no excuse, and she simply felt terrible. Her blue eyes lost some of their shine, and she hung her head in shame. Yet it snapped back up when she had heard that Nyoka wasn't with the goddess. As much as she somewhat disliked Nyoka, the snake did act as a sort of guardian, and helped to keep some sense in Rokopelli's plans.

"I'm afraid he's not with me, dear," she spoke, feeling sorry even though it wasn't her fault. She wished she could help. Why did she have to leave in the first place? Maybe if she hadn't, things might have turned out differently.

But Koya's ears suddenly swiveled around as she heard a growl coming from behind her. There was another? Turning around quickly, she sought to put herself between Rokopelli and this other. Blue eyes settled upon a mostly white male, with colorful markings along his body, and bright eyes peering through a thick black mane.

"Who are you?" she growled slightly, taking a defensive stance. She'd be damned if she let anything else happen to Roko.

"It's okay. We don't mind. You're with us now, Mummy, and that's all that matters." She chirped brightly. "We missed you very much but made new friends, too. We met other Gods and a Goddess too. All nice. Well...not all...one was mean but we sure showed him." Well she hadn't really, but she remembered the incident how she wanted to.

Her face dropped a little at the news of Nyoka and she felt that familiar twinge in her heart, knowing he was somewhere out there in the world and she would probably never find him again. And he would forever hate her... "We wish we could find him. We did a terrible thing. We almost brokeses his mate. His Janja. She was angry. So was Nyoka. Had to go. Couldn't stay. Didn't want to see his angry face." She shook her head and then, at Koya's next question, her head zipped round, settling on the white, banded face of the male.

"Oh..." She trailed, not liking the look in his eyes. "Um...Cassie." She replied. "Cassie.

"Cassian!" The male snapped angrily, taking another step towards them and then thinking better of it. The more distance he kept between him and that Confused One the better. His head was clearer when she wasn't so close.

"If this is your daughter, why don't you keep her on a tighter leash?! She's a danger to herself and others. Particularly me." His dark, angry gaze snapped back to Rokopelli. "Yes, she may seem all innocence, but she's far from that."

A pause. "Perhaps you can undo what she's done."

Koya smiled, instantly wanting to nuzzle and lick the top of the other female's head, but she soon thought better of it. Rokopelli was almost fully grown, and such acts of affection might not be so welcome anymore. Although, the other goddess did express that she was glad to see the older female. She had also made friends, she said, and this delighted Koya to no end. She knew what difficulties an immortal could have trying to make friends, as there were many things that could work against them. They could have conflicting domains or, in the case with mortals, they could be shunned or feared.

"Mean?" she echoed, slightly fearful of what might have gone down between the goddess of confusion and this other god she spoke of. Obviously, Rokopelli had come out alive, and had said that she had shown him, but what exactly? She hoped the god wasn't a vengeful one, and didn't come after the smaller goddess seeking some sort of revenge. Koya shuddered at the thought, knowing very well that a clash between immortals wasn't always a pretty sight.

But she calmed down slightly and even grew a little sad for the other as she revealed that something had gone wrong between Nyoka and her, something having to do with the snake's mate. Snakes had mates? It was something new that she had never really thought about or considered, but she supposed that they had to reproduce and keep their species alive somehow. Feeling sympathetic, she frowned slightly and nudged the other goddess gently. "Don't worry yourself too much about it, dear," she spoke quietly. "I'm sure you'll find him again. I'll even help, if you want." Although, she wasn't sure just how much help she would be. She was the goddess of the past, not some great tracker or snake detector.

"You just need to..." But her words trailed off as she remembered the mortal.

"Daughter?" she echoed, slightly confused. She tilted her head a bit to the side, and blinked at the male. Who was this guy, anyways? Sure, Cassian was his name, as he had yelled at them, but that didn't explain what he was doing with Rokopelli. She glared at him, but remained alert to what he was doing and saying.

"What do you mean, she's far from being innocent?" She glanced back at Rokopelli, feeling very confused. The other goddess always seemed innocent enough. At least, Koya had never seen her do anything to make her believe otherwise. What had happened between her and this male? "What has she done?"

Her eyes teared up at Cassian's words. Why was he always so mean? She knew his thoughts, she knew he had a good side, towards that Illena anyway. Never her. Yes, so she'd made a mistake, but he had asked her and she'd only tried to help.

"Not help." She spoke to herself. "Showing off. Tell Mummy."

"Shut up Roko!" She snapped, shaking her head and turning her bi-coloured eyes back to the larger lioness, finding comfort in that soothing, silvery pelt. Try and think of good things, she thought to herself, Mummy has just said she'll help find Nyoka. That would be good! But she couldn't go...not until she'd sorted this mess out and she didn't even know where to start.

Her wings drooped. "Mummy, we done a bad thing."

Cassian growled, stepping closer again. Trying to think of good things, was she? Well he'd put a stop to that. At least this odd new ability he had aquired worked both ways. He could read her thoughts and she could read his.

If you don't fix this. He thought to himself. I'll make you pay. He took some odd pleasure from seeing the fear flickering briefly in her eyes. Peh, some Goddess, scared of a mortal.

Shaking his head he cast his eyes back to the older one. "She used her powers on me, that's what she's done. Confused me. I...I can barely catch my thoughts, especially when we're close. I can...I can hear her thoughts, too, just as she can hear mine." He snapped his eyes back to the Goddess. "Can you do it, then? Can you undo what she's done? She's been leading me and my friend across these...these lands! I don't know where we've been, but we've walked for a long time." He shook his head, feeling the anger rise again. "I want my mind back!"

Koya was really beginning to dislike this mortal male. Like, really. She wasn't usually an angry or violent lioness, but this male was rubbing her the wrong way and getting her emotions all mixed up. She was protective towards Rokopelli and so wanted to defend her at all costs, but she also didn't want to harm a mortal. He, however, didn't seem to be having a problem with the idea that he might have to rough them up a bit.

The goddess felt like there was something between them that she had missed. Something crucial that was fueling the tension in the situation. And the longer she went without knowing, the more nervous she became. She was about to yell at the male to start making sense already, but before she got a chance he began to explain it, and everything became clearer. Rokopelli had used her powers, and something had gone terribly wrong. At least, the male wasn't very appreciative.

Blue eyes narrowed and became troubled as she listened to the entire explanation. She felt that the male might not be exaggerating, but he was certainly putting more blame on the young goddess than she deserved. Her wings pressed against the side of her body, ears falling back and lips curling in a slight snarl. It had been a long time since she'd ever found herself angry like this.

"I have no control over the powers of other gods and goddesses," she explained, more calmly than one might have expected. "Griping and growling won't reverse what she's done. You obviously have no power to turn anything around, and maybe she's taking you to these places for a reason. I know Rokopelli, and I know that she would never intentionally harm another creature. Therefore, it's only logical that she's trying to find some way to fix it."

At least, she hoped that's what Rokopelli had in mind.

Rokopelli whimpered and huddled close to Koya's side, practically attempting to push beneath one of her wings to hide away. She didn't like being shouted at and she didn't like the things he was thinking, either. Bad things. Very bad things. Didn't he realise it was just an accident? Didn't he realise she was only trying to help.

"Mummy..." She whined, sadly.

Her heart lifted at hearing Koya rise to her defence. It was good to have another believe in her, to not think her evil and bad. She was trying to fix it, after all, and no mean person would try to fix something bad, would they? No they'd laugh and take joy from it, not feel guilty and sad like she did.

"We are trying to fix it." She continued softly. "We're going to find a God or Goddess who can heal. Heal his head and his eyeses, see?"

"We'll be searching for the rest of my life." He replied angrily. He didn't know when it was best to shut up and keep his thoughts to himself - though, actually, he couldn't even do that since Rokopelli picked up on them. It was a complete violation!!

He saw her flinch again and growled. Now he was upsetting her when he hadn't even meant to!

"Do you even know a God of Healing?!" He snapped. "What if one doesn't even exist?" And for crying out loud, had she just told the other Goddess about his eyes?!

He bristled and dug his claws into the earth to keep himself from doing something incredibly stupid. "There's nothing wrong with my eyes!" He slashed at the ground and with a thunderous growl, turned away. "I'm going to go find Illena."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 28, 2009 1:56 pm

Koya was growing angrier and angrier by the second. Every moment that the male upset Rokopelli more, the silver goddess found that she was liking him less. Normally she had no hatred in her, but he was very close to changing that. When the younger goddess huddled under her, she made a soft purring sound and lowered her wings slightly to give her some shelter from the mortal's harsh words.

He spoke so negatively, and he seemed to think that he was doomed forever. Anyone else might have thought he was overreacting, but she could spare a little sympathy for him, since she figured it must be a little overwhelming to be connected to an immortal like that.

So despite her general dislike of him, she forced herself to take a breath and to calm down so that she wouldn't lose her temper with him.

"Calm down," she spoke, a little harsher than she had intended. "You're acting like a cub." Now she was in full scolding mother mode. "Like I said, running your mouth won't make the situation any better. If you keep harassing Rokopelli like that, she'll never be able to find the answer, and you'll be connected to her forever, until you die. Do you want that?" She flicked her tail, slightly annoyed, but able to keep herself in check. She stared hard at him, wanting him to realize that she was being serious and that she wouldn't tolerate any more of his behavior.

"There actually is a goddess of healing," she continued, remembering the goddess but not recalling if they had ever met.

But then there was something that caught her interest. His eyes? She glanced at the goddess of confusion, then back towards the male. She narrowed her eyes slightly, trying to get a good look at his eyes. But, from where she was, they seemed perfectly fine. Yet then he turned away angrily and spoke about going to find.. someone, she didn't recognize the name. Turning back to Rokopelli, she nudged the other with one of her tattered wings.

"What's wrong with his eyes?"

If he had realised how angry he had made the Goddess, it did not show. Generally, Cassian was too busy thinking of himself to consider others. Likelihood was he hadn't even noticed.

He flinched at her words as he moved to leave, casting another glance over his shoulder.

Gods, he thought to himself, the world would be a better place without them. Then he left the daughter and mother to their conversation.

Rokopelli watched mournfully as the male left, hearing his thoughts as clear as day and wondering whether he was right. Perhaps the world would be better off without them.

For what had she done but brought pain and suffering to those she had meant to help?

She averted her eyes, looking back to her mother with hope. "Really?" She felt her heart swell, felt her hopes rise. Perhaps there was a chance, after all. "Do you know her, Mummy? Do you know where she lives? Do you know if she will help me?"

And then she took a back step and threw her gaze back to where the male had gone. "He's all squinty and can't see us well if we go too far awayses."

Having been unable to hear any of the thought exchanges, the silver goddess simply watched the other go. She contemplated his sour mood and wondered if the majority of the mortals were like him. Generally moody and hateful towards the gods. But she didn't let herself dwell on that too much. She had other things to worry about. And, besides-

She blinked, bringing herself back to reality as Roko questioned her about the goddess of healing. "Her name is Ameh, but I do not personally know her." She frowned, wishing she could have been of more use. But she comforted herself with the fact that she at least knew that there was a goddess of healing in existance, and so didn't completely dash the hopes of the younger goddess' quest.

"I know nothing of her other than her name, but I don't see why she would not want to help you." Some gods held grudges against the mortals, but what grudge could this one possibly have? She was almost certain that Ameh would help.

When the subject was turned back to the grumpy male, she glanced once more in the direction that he had headed off in. She made a face, still wishing that she could have set him straight and make him stop yelling and blaming Rokopelli for everything. "And he's ashamed of that?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. She would never be able to understand mortals.

"Ameh." She repeated, feeling her heart, soul and wings lift at the sound of the goddess' name. It sounded good and kind and helpful and she was sure that this Ameh could be of great service to her. Perhaps she might want a trade and Roko was sure she could find something to part with. Even if it meant giving up one of her own prized snake bangles, she would do what she had to to help Cassian and restore her own

"We'll look for Ameh, then, no matter what. And we'll findses her. We have to!" She wriggled, hoping that it wasn't going to be too hard to find the female. But, if she was out there than she was going to find her, no matter how many years it might take.

She sighed then, nodding sadly. "Yup, silly boy. He thinks he's useless because he can't hunt. He has to rely on others to helpses him. Makes him sad." Her ears drooped a little. "So I tried to help but made things worse." She blinked and leaned into the silver female.

"Mummy, sometimes do you wish you didn't have powers?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:58 pm

Koya was relieved to have been able to remember that there was indeed a goddess of healing, and even to have remembered her name. She was relieved to have even been of any help at all. She just wish she could have been more useful in figuring out where the goddess of healing was actually located. But she was the goddess of the past, not the present, and as such she was unable to track the whereabouts of living creatures. For all she knew, the goddess could be in the process of being reborn and thus incapacitated for the time being. She attempted to not be so negative, however, and instead smiled warmly at the younger goddess.

"I'm sure you'll find her soon, Rokopelli," she purred encouragingly. It was almost amazing how the other goddess could be so near to adulthood yet still so close to childhood at the same time. It seemed as if her spirit and hope were boundless. The silver lioness only hoped that this moody male wouldn't go and ruin everything. If he could only just realize that Rokopelli was trying to help him...

When Confusion explained about Cassian's frustration concerning his vision and lack of capability when it came to hunting, it all made more sense to her. Koya's own great great granddaughter, Amesi, was incapable of hunting due to a physical illness, and she often got upset over her lack of usefulness. It was on the verge of being childish at times, but Koya could only guess that one had to go through that particular situation in order to be able to fully understand it. Her own ears drooped as she thought of this, and also as Rokopelli seemed rather sad over the whole ordeal concerning the mortal lion. She could understand that, too, as she often felt helpless because she was unable to cure Amesi's illness that had been caused by the silver goddess' own selfish actions.

When fronted with the question of if she'd ever wished she didn't have any powers, the goddess paused for a few moments, pondering. There had been times when she had wished she wasn't a goddess, and that she hadn't cursed her bloodline. But she, better than anyone, knew that the past couldn't be changed or erased.

"Sometimes," she spoke soothingly, grooming the other female methodically with her tongue. "I think we all do, at some point. Things happen that are out of our control, but we still wish we could change them." She sighed, getting lost in her thoughts. "But it'll all work out for the best," she told Rokopelli, but also telling herself. "I promise."

She truly hoped she would. For, as much as she liked being around mortals, being tied to them in this way was somewhat sad. It was like having her wings clipped, keeping her grounded. No longer could she fly and do whatever she pleased. She had to stay close by so that they would know she hadn't abandoned them. She had to make sure they were okay.

Boy was she looking forward to being able to say goodbye and throwing herself into the endless sky, wheeling and diving without a care in the world. She craved that lack of responsibility more than anything.

She let her eyes droop as the older lioness groomed her, feeling sleepy almost instantly. She realised how much this had taken out of her, how tired she felt feelign so on edge all the time.

She was comforted, too, by the silver one's reply. Glad that she wasn't the only one finding herself wishing she was just like everyone else. Normal. Mortal. It would mean giving up a lot of things. Her wings. Her powers. But, sometimes she found herself thinking it was worth it, at those times when she felt low.

"We hope you're right, Mummy. We'll try our best to make it all work out in the end." She paused and then, "We love you, Mummy Koya."
