published:
well, me (the writer) and Elley (the artist, one of my close friends) are actually in the midst of completing a comic. We intend to fnish just after we finish our degree then submit it to an independent comic publisher

others:
I wrote a couple of poetry for the school paper. I won some itsy thing for a story a wrote a while back (but it was kids stuff, you know) and there's this site (many of you might know of it) called Elfwood. The only disadvantage to this site is that everything you upload must be of fantasy genre.

I entered a poetry contest, and won. They wanted to publish my poem in a book, but the didn't want to pay me for it. So I never sent in the permision slip.
I could have been published, but I didn't want them to get money from my work.
also I would have to pay like 50.00 U.S. $$ To get a copy of the book.
eek

hey! that happened to me and a friend of mine! but gave them permission to publish mine. One poetry out there won't cost me any. besides, they've put my name on it, that's all i could ask... but when they sent me a form to till up whether I want a copy of the book (this is when my friend told me about how he went through this one himself) that I ignored them. apparently that, that whole thing was scam to get money off people.

Hmmm...

I've almost published a story, and published three poems, that is about it. However other than that, I have never had my work be considered an 'accomplishment.' Even by myself sometimes.

How fickle the world of art can be.

I would say that is an accomplishment!

Two years ago I wrote a picture book called The Great Van Doodle that won a lot of in-school awards, and I'm currently sending it around to a couple publishers. I've also written a couple of school-award winning poems, and had one of my ideas stolen by a famous writer. I can't exactly remember who he was, but he came to speak at our school a few years ago.

I have an account at Elfwood, but it's only for the art section, I'm planning on opening one in the writing section as soon as I can make some of my stuff presentable.

And though I don't plan to publish, several of my friends do. One of them is in the process of finding some one to publish for her, and her books are Really good, I'll let you all know when she gets published, I highly recomend her books.

I have accomplished nothing yet, however, I am getting some pieces together to enter into some writing contests. One for BCTELA, and the other... MAYBE... for the Clarmonte(and I hope I spelt that right lest I look like an idiot) Review.
