Physical Description: There is a permanent unattractive sneer on her face. Tealyn is average in height, she has long black hair kept in a braid down her back, and large brown eyes that are too far apart on her face. Her clothing, although worn is kept very clean and tidy, she loves the color red and her clothing generally reflects her tastes. She's not fat, but she does have quite a bit of meat on her bones, a few extra curves in her waist. She's pretty unattractive, maybe if the girl would just smile she'd look better.
Personality: Snobbish and Catty, Tealyn enjoys finding insecurities within people and applying pressure to sore spots. Her malicious nature comes from her mother who she is identical to in every way. In Tealyn’s eyes there is nothing better than making herself feel better while cutting someone else down. This obviously puts a damper on her social life.
Holdbred, Tealyn, finds mating flights and the looseness with affection and sensuality within a Weyr completely appalling. She has a very deep belief in monogamy, mainly because her father was a dragonrider who came through the hold and left Taelyn’s mother high and dry.
Tealyn has never done a hard day’s work in her entire life, if dirt were to get under her nails she’d chop it off, rather than be seen messy or out of place. She keeps herself quite clean and will look down upon anyone that does not fit her standard of hygiene. Deep down inside she questions her want to impress a dragon at all; it seems like an awful lot of work, along with the gore of cutting meat for a weyrling. She’s only in the Weyr because her mother thinks it will help raise her status if she’s a rider, instead of a weaver’s daughter.
Socially: it is very hard for Taelyn to make...and keep friends, she becomes very angry if someone she’s attracted causes her embarrassment by not fitting her standard. She is not intelligent enough to be a leader, so that puts her into the classification of reluctant follower.
Her anger and sheer assholeness are a major downfall, she is not happy with anything or anyone around her because they don’t meet some BS set of rules and standards her mother has contrived. She really needs someone to knock her upside the head and put her to work.
History:
Tealyn’s mother has been riding on the coattails of her parents for turns, using their home as her own and using up every mark that they ever make. They were about to kick her out of their small but respectable cothold, but she conceived Taelyn and they were unable to toss her out because of the pending grandchild. Tealyn's mother was hoping the dragon rider that knocked her up would sweep her off of her feet and be committed to her (She was young and still is stupid).
The family has a small cothold attached to Keroon. Tealyn has two uncles and one aunt, all who live with their espoused, they work hard for the family. Kallyn, Tealyn’s mother has not done a single day’s work in her entire life, the family business is in runnerbeasts and weavings. Rather than take care of filthy runnerbeasts Kallyn used the excuse of raising her daughter to keep away from working.
She raised Tealyn to be just like her and the girl hates anything to do with physical labor. The grandparents are deeply troubled by the two, but have too much on their hands to knock any sense into the young woman, they hope he will straighten out with age but are not holding their breath.
When a blue rider came out on search he stopped at the cothold to see if they have any the right age for candidacy, his blue picked Tealyn out of the line-up. Her mother insisted that she go, in hopes that her daughter will impress and she can boast about raising a dragon rider. If nothing else, she insists that Tealyn find a respectable young man to espouse and bring back to the cothold. Tealyn reluctantly went with the blue back to Ista. She is disgusted by the physical nature of being a candidate, she has no idea how to scrub a floor or clean a latrine.

Other/Talents: She's going to be Ollen's crappy roommate much to Ollen's displeasure. An antagonist that drives Ollen up the wall and they constantly argue.
