The Painted Peculiarity Just down the street from Myrah Inn, a medium-sized building lies sandwiched between an alley and the neighboring salon. The outside of the building gives the strong impression of a beautiful bird, such as a peacock. It is beautifully painted in bright greens, blues, purples, reds, and golds and is decorated with elegant woodwork. At the top of the building, the name of the restaurant can be seen; "The Painted Peculiarity" can be seen standing proudly in delicate ironwork.
The restaurant has always been a place free of discrimination; no matter what gender, race, species, or religion, you are welcome there. The food reflects this as well; foods from all around the world, and even from other worlds, can ordered. You are almost certainly guaranteed a good time there. The inside of the restaurant is almost always bustling, and looks much like a cafe. It is a sanctuary from the outside world.

Sophia arrived with Devante at the restaurant. "Whoa, that was definitely...odd." She said with a smile as she glanced around where they were. The restaurant was different but very beautiful. It seemed like they would have quite a good time here. Swirling her hand in the air she pulled water from it and turned the water into a small ball of ice with the flick of her wrist. She threw it into the air and, with the help of a little magic, made the ball burst into pretty little shards of ice that were all different colors. "They should see that pretty easily. You stand out here and wait for them. I'll go inside and get our seats and everything." She said to Devante before hurrying off inside.

With his hands in his pockets Devante grinned to himself and ignored the glorious spray of icey shards in favor of peeking out at her rear as she walked inside to reserve them a space. Chewing the stick of wood thoroughly he snapped it in his teeth and spat it out before trailing after the giddy young woman. He quite liked how her new garb loosely hugged her smooth curvature. Subconsciously he smiled, eyes closed in personal thought. He sighed. Devante knew this would probably be an eventful evening to say the least.

Sophia reserved their table and then went to stand at the entry way for the others. Looking over at Devante she smiled. He was fun, tall, handsome; perfect for making her new school experience amazing. She wasn't sure if she'd date him; he was hot as hell, but did his personality make the cut? She'd have to find out. Not to mention he was a demon. In Sophia's mind there was nothing sexier. She couldn't stand going after sweet lil' innocent boys."So, handsome. It might be a few minutes 'till everyone else arrives. Care to tell me a bit about your past?"

He laughed, almost seeing the question coming before she spoke it. "Well, I already told you I came into the world essentially born as you see me now with no one and nothing to call my own and devoid of parents or another living being that gave a s**t about me..." he paused as his eyes glazed back into a dull glistening sheen as he recalled the details in vivid detail. "To put a long story short, I fell in love, she died, I didn't, I was given no choice to move on..." he trailed of thinking of what to tell and what was best left unsaid, "I stowed away in a small trading boat to the mainland, halfway through the journey the captian happened upon me and assaulted me with questions in a foreign tongue before calling for his blunderbuss. I was given no choice but to kill him and I tried, and largely failed to steer the vessel until I cam upon land, more than two weeks at sea later stammering into an Italian city called venice, the architecture was amazing" "I managed to slip from the shipping yard without being noticed and discovered a taste for fine clothing, mesmerized by the regal appearence of the elite nobles and ladies...Through a series of unmentionable certumstances I came upon a considerable amount of wealth and surrounded myself in the lavish pleasures mankind had to offer but realized the suffering others endured struggling each day in the putrid streets with no other choice but to live where others tossed away their noxious waste...By this time the period of the Renaissance was just taking root and the world was divided between the worlds of old and new...I should stop, our table should be ready any minute..."

((HAHA...the dragon/human/thing has a special ability to just APPEAR...Yes I'm tired = bad jokes))
Togiretogire had followed some people that he had decided to meet. Well they seem to be the best people to start a conversation with. What could go wrong he didn't know but then again, who did know? Everything was going fine, until he for a second lost them. Yet their scent was in his nostrils. His senses was of course not human, so all he did was follow their trail. He entered a house where he thought they be. He found his mark, well that sounded a bit like he where to kill them. He has to remember not to use that word in public.
He approached them all and stood there with a friendly smile. "If I'm not wrong you're student at Tenshi Uni along with me right? Would you mind if I joined you in your conversation?" This seemed like a good way to meet fellow students. Everyone should be at least a bit interested in the other students. It was a bet and Togiretogire had paid the price.

She smiled, blissfully happy, even though she couldn't do anything fancy with her relatively heavy burden. She laughed loudly when he asked her what cake was. "Well, it's food, really. It's a sweet dessert food. So I guess the saying is that it's easy, like it's easy to eat cake, since it tastes so good! Or something like that... You can probably have some for yourself when we get to the restaurant." She hummed to herself for a little while, enjoying the tingling of finally getting good exercise for her wings. She kept her sharp green eyes peeled for the town, and Sophia and Devante though. No sense in missing them just because she was having a good time. "Ah, well... I always want to fly. I just... Don't have much right to, I suppose. Makes me feel guilty to fly without a reason." She felt a little bad for using him as an excuse, but she could justify this. It was pretty easy, actually. He would have had to run, or walk to the restaurant, so not only would he have gotten there a lot later than everyone else, he might have gotten into trouble on the way. He would have made himself even more hungry, and that was just no good. So it was easy, for once in her life, to justify what she was doing. Her unadulterated enjoyment in it, however, would not be ignored by the whispers in the back of her head, the ones that kept her near the edge.
She could ignore them for now, though. She looked down at Anton and started humming again as they reached the town. Scanning the area, she was looking for Sophia's unmistakably bright clothing. She thought she'd spotted it a couple of times, but then she had to look a little harder. When she did finally spot the woman, she started to let herself slip down through the air a little more on the upstroke of her wings. The downstroke was modified to be shorter and shallower, and they were on their way down. "You might want to brace yourself for impact... Sorry, I've never landed while carrying someone, so it might mess me up... Not to mention there isn't much room for my wings with the buildings around, so I'll have to tuck them a little earlier than I'd like." She gulped, hoping that she wouldn't hurt him by accident. She'd landed at least a hundred times on her own, and no matter how much clearance she had, it was pretty easy when it was just her. But with him underneath her... Well it was going to be a little hairy. She took a deep breath as they neared the tops of the buildings, and pulled her wings in as far as she dared, sending them falling much faster than she would have liked. She let him go just as his feet hit the ground, so that hopefully he wouldn't be hurt or anything, and then her foot caught on his shoulder. She tumbled through midair, landing heavily on her back, brown wings and hair sprawled all over the dirty ground. She groaned in pain, and managed to speak quietly while she tried to regain her wind. "Slight miscalculation... Sorry... Are you alright?"

Much as always, she spoke, and he listened. It was something sweet? He had sweets before. In fact, he had sweets with him right now. Spicy sweets. But this was a different sweet, wasn't it? She said it was sweet. Would it be soft, or hard like frozen maple? "I can have cake?" he asked happily. This time, his mouth blurted out something without him thinking. How embarrassing, he thought. She eventually answered him of course, but, something else caught his attention. Something that did not make sense to him at all. He understood that she disliked flying of course, but what didn't make sense was why. Rae hadn't said why yet, but now she did. Anton didn't like it's sound. "Why guilty?" he asked carefully. He didn't want to make her angry, or sad, but it was inevitable it would happen with questions like that. Huh? The ground rapidly rushed up towards Anton and Rae as they descended. The toes of his boots caught on the ground, and as she let go, something hit him in the shoulder. Anton was sent spiraling out of control, and his mass made things worse; he kept on tumbling until something ugly happened. It was rather comical really, but it still hurt. Anton had smacked face first into the side of a building after his tumble, resembling how a fly looked after being hit by the swatter. He somehow just stuck there for a brief moment before peeling off and landing on the street. He got up, and fortunately, it didn't seem like anything in his backpack was broken. Anton spoke mildly, "Ow." before walking over to Rae and pulling her up. "I've been through worse. But say 'hi'. I think we have another person with us now. How are you?" He then started to brush the dirt off of Rae's wings and back; the annoying spots she probably couldn't reach easily.

Sophia was just about to reply to Devante when another man came up to her. "Oh, sure! Yes, that'd be lovely." A little jingle played from her purse, her cell phone. She reached into her purse, pulled out the small phone, flipped it open and read the awaiting message. With a smile she put it away. "If you'd like, you can join us at the bonfire-thing too." She replied to him after having received an update text message from the school. Just as she was once more about to turn her attention to Devante she heard, and soon saw, the commotion of Rae and Anton. Rushing outside she tried to suppress a laugh. It was a slightly funny sight; almost like something out of a cartoon. But, her new friends may be hurt and that was most definitely not funny. She ran over to Rae, to try and help her up. "Are you okay, chica?" Sophia asked in a voice full of concern.

OOC: I'm so sorry, Katrina!!!
Deckland and Clover came swooping in a bit faster than need be. A flock of birds decided it was going to be fun to mess with the two, before Deckland fried them. He could've eaten them and been happy with it. The landing was a bit clumsy, but because of Clover's lightness, Deckland only had to worry about his ankles not breaking. He was a bit strained and tense, but that was normal. "C'mon! We're late!" Deckland said as he pulled the floating girl into the restaraunt. He had holes in his clothing and scratches over he face, hands, neck, and chest, the only visible parts of his body. He sat down in a chair next to Anton and laid his head in his hands, propping him up with his elbows. He was a bit grump. His hair was also very messy. As he folded his wings, he felt a couple of cuts opening up on them. The birds saw Deckland as an enemy bird, the reason for their attack, but didn't expect fire to come from this "bird". Deckland looked over at Sophia. "Told you flying was a bad Idea." He said, as he picked out a white feather that wasn't his, then rubbed his wrist.

Rae was more than horrified by what had happened, She could feel her face burning red, even though he didn't seem to mind. She was definitely going to have to get more practice carrying things and people. She'd start with things, she didn't want to send anyone else flying into buildings... She really wondered what color she'd become, because she was mortified. Not to mention, now there was another person who'd seen that. She normally was a good flier, whenever she had to. After he helped her up she wrung her hands and looked determinedly at the ground. "I'm okay Sophia," she mumbled quietly. She groaned slightly when Anton started wiping the dirt off of her back, embarrassed that she'd even gotten dirt on there, and then the one that she could have killed cleaning her off. "Erm... Thanks. Be careful back there..." She didn't want to have him hit her vulnerable spot and have to deal with that embarrassment as well. She continued to inspect the ground carefully, as if it were the most interesting thing she'd ever seen, so that people wouldn't have to look at her bright-red face. In reality, she turned her attention to the newcomer to their group. "Um, hi. It um... It was an accident..."
She kind of wanted to just disappear and go die somewhere. She'd never felt so ashamed in all her life. She'd never had anyone to be ashamed around. Guilt was something different, though it used the word ashamed as well, it was mostly an internal feeling. She wrapped her wings around her body as tightly as she could, hiding from everyone behind them. "I'm sorry." She was even less hungry now than she was before, and she sighed at the further embarrassment that was sure to cause. She was pretty sure that asking the waiter to bring her 'meat that was only cooked slightly' would raise a few eyebrows. But she didn't want to leave them, she didn't want to be alone any more than she didn't want to face any more embarrassment. So she just went with the flow.

"Ok then. I'll be careful." he replied, finally removing the last of the dirt and grime. "Is there something I have be careful with in specific?" Anton asked. Either she didn't hear his question, or she had chosen to ignore it. Why guilty? Anton's curiosity often lead him to strange, wonderful, and terrible places or events. Maybe Rae was smarter than him in this respect, and maybe he should ignore that. For now. For now, it was about time to eat. Rae gave the newcomer a strange greeting, even by his standards. He gave a simple nod as well before taking her small, childlike hand in his own, following the others inside. Everyone eventually settled down on a seat. Rae was to one side, and Deckland soon sat on his other side as well, but he didn't mind. Though he was quite happy about the idea of eating something, Rae was still bothered. Was the ground so interesting? He stooped down a little to get a better view of her face, only to be surprised. "Rae? Do you have a fever?" How red! Anton's hand reached out and touched her forehead. No. Not a fever. But she gave an apology. Why? There wasn't anything to apologize about, was there? "What's wrong Rae?" he asked. "If you want to say something, you can whisper. I've always kept secrets. I wouldn't be alive if I didn't keep them." He stopped briefly as one of the waitresses came by, giving out a healthy "Hi!" to everyone, before handing out the menus. As soon as he ordered a drink, a glass of water, Anton leaned over again, reversing his course, "Maybe we should just think food instead." He hoped he didn't make things worse. Looking back at what he said, maybe talking about secrets and whispers wasn't such a good idea. No, probably not good at all. Not at all.

She stood there burning with shame as Anton finished cleaning her up, and smiled a little as he asked what he should be careful of. That reminded her... He'd asked something else earlier. About guilt... But she wasn't ready to answer that yet. She was still far too ashamed of what had already happened to add more onto it. She had to mumble out a quiet answer to this new question though, she didn't want him to be offended or think that she was ignoring him. "It's um... The weakest spot on my body... Little patch of thin skin between my wings. If you touch it lightly all my limbs go tingly and numb - which isn't too bad, but if you tap it just hard enough I lose control of everything and I can't move for a while. I'm not going to get into what happens if you hit it... I trust you though..." Otherwise he wouldn't have gotten near her back. It felt kind of nice to trust... But that had nothing to do with the current situation. She was still avoiding the inevitable - having to look anyone in the face after her ignominious mistake. She should have known better than to think that she'd be alone in her wallowing though, because Anton was definitely interested in what was up with her.
When he asked if she had a fever, she couldn't help herself, and cracked a small smile. "No... I don't have a fever." Despite the fact that he didn't know what the redness in her face was from, he obviously noticed something was wrong, and she sighed. She was about to tell him, when a waitress appeared. She was bubbly and happy, and was trying to take everyone's orders for drinks. But Rae didn't really drink anything but blood, and the liquid from her food... So she just kind of passed, shaking her head slightly to indicate she wanted nothing. When she was gone, Rae shoved her chair closer to Anton's, which was easy because hers was sideways. She couldn't really sit on regular chairs, they couldn't accommodate her wings. She wished she had a stool or something, as it was she was kind of perched on her toes on the seat of the chair, because if she sat down she'd be too short to sit at the table properly. So when she was settled, she leaned up towards his ear, and inspected his head for damage. It seemed okay... "I just... I could have hurt you... And I looked so silly in front of everyone. All because of these stupid wings. I should just cut them off, and maybe I wouldn't have to feel this way all the time. You asked about guilt? I'm guilty all the time of using a gift that wasn't meant for me. I feel terrible when I use them because I don't deserve them, because they don't belong to me. Because I'm just a monster. I'm not supposed to be. And don't try to tell me it's not true, they told me what I was enough times when they made me, and they had personal interest in the project, and a lot less reason to lie to me to make me feel better."
She frowned. She didn't mean to dump such serious baggage on him right before dinner. But it was getting some of her aggravation out, trying to make him understand. Her brow furrowed, and she clenched her fists, trying to find the right words to make him understand how she felt. "They're here now, and I love them. But... I stole them. From a whole, perfect creature, I stole them and became something less. A half-creature... I don't know... I suppose this doesn't make any sense to you." She plopped back into place, her expression brightening slightly to cover the frustration with herself for being unable to express how horrible she really was. "Maybe you're right. What are you going to eat? You have to have something before the cake, unfortunately." She herself wasn't sure what to do. It was either suffer the embarrassment of not eating anything, or only eating extra rare meat; or eat something normal and suffer the consequences later in the form of a lot of vomiting, which would probably be equally embarrassing. Then again, flying with all that weight had made her hungry, so she decided on the meat, and hoped that happy-waitress wasn't too frightened by her.

"Splendid!" Togiretogire said, ready to sit down he heard a commotion as well outside. Togiretogire, who is curious by nature decided to join in the search to find out to source to the sound outside. He followed Sophia out and saw something quite hilarious. Yet Togiretogire is not one to laugh. No not him, even if he is quite amused by bipeds hurting themselves. It was one of those things a human could just lay down and watch. Well here he was a biped. cursed monk, but for now he was a biped. He had to act like one. There was many people around so he stood and watched fro a moment. No one was injured in a way that could be called injured. Well not that he could see form his position.
Togiretogire then remembered what Sophie had said about the bonfire. There was some sort of event going on with the school. Well he could tag along to that. Now he was invited to go with people. That would look good. He may look more natural like that. Hopefully no one would ask him why Dragon Knights had attacked him in the test area. That could be hard to explain, very hard indeed. Togiretogire did a mental shook of his head to get rid of the past that most likely had no meaning no more.
