The sky was the perfect shade of oranges and pinks as the sun rose over the shop, casting everything in shadow as a forewarning to the oncoming heat that was sure to come later that day. Yue didn't seem to notice that he'd not slept the night before, his thoughts always on his younger sister. She'd found someone, without his interfering, and she'd told him it was his turn next, as she usually did in her hyper little way. Even though he'd shrugged it off, he couldn't help but feel she probably would try something if he didn't find someone on his own. He let out a soft sigh and leaned against the shop wall behind him, having half a mind to go sit under the trees in a few minutes. Today was going to be boring....

Loni quietly scurried out of one of the shop windows and into a bush below quietly as she could. Just by peaking out the window before she jumped, she knew it was morning and didn't want to wake anyone up or bother anyone, even though her mother was going into a snit because she couldn't find her baby girl. Dridesa was searching for her inside the shop but Loni didn't feel like she should be a teddy bear today. Oh, she knew her mother meant well, even when she was telling her that she was special and everything, but it didn't mean much coming from her. Mothers were suppost to love you, even if you couldn't shadowwalk like daddy and sissy, or if you didn't get the lovetaker gene from mommy. She was nothing like her family and she knew it. All she wanted was someone who didn't know or care about that and would like her as she was, but that wasn't going to happen if things kept going as they were, getting snagged and snuggled by her mother every ten minutes... exactly the reason she was now stuck in a bush. . .

Yue listened quietly when he heard the bushes move, half-believing he'd imagined it. Deciding it would be better to check it out, he walked towards the bush and pulled the branches away, only to grow wide-eyed as he spotted a kit. "Er, do you need help?" He asked, his tone as polite as usual. He took a moment to take in her markings, knowing almost instantly who she was related to. It's hard to forget when two noodles get stuck in the rafters, afraid of heights, and his sister got stuck trying to help them so he'd had to help.

Loni blushed as soon as she was found, "Ummm.... Yes...that would be lovely." She let out a small sigh, just chalk another way she wasn't like her family, she thought to herself. Her daddy could sneak up on anyone, and she couldn't get into a bush without getting stuck. She lifted a paw to swat a leaf off her forehead, "I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you by this"

Yue shook his head, gently lifting her from her foliage confinement with a smile, "Of course not... I wasn't doing anything besides watching the sun rise..." He sat her on the ground and tapped her under the chin, "Escaping from something?"

Loni nodded and kept her head up, he figured it out pretty quick. "Is it that obvious?" she asked with a smile. She let out a small giggle and sighed, "Yes, I was trying to get away from my mother and her snuggling." A small shiver ran down her back after thinking of the last attack.

Yue smiled softly, "It's only obvious because I recognized your pattern from your parents..." He ruffled the top of her head, "She's just trying to show you some well-deserved affection. Oh, and the best place to go would be the rafters, I doubt she'll go up there again...." He winked at her playfully and looked at the sky again, the shade starting to turn more blueish in color.

Loni sighed and tried to ignore the wink he gave her, "I think she's making up for the hugs she didn't give sister....." she followed his gaze up and watched the tint of the sky change as she spoke, "What happened up there in the rafters that I'd be safe up there?"

Yue flicked his gaze back to her, "It isn't so much as what happened... More like she's scared of heights." He laughed softly and added, "My sister Xia and I had to help her and your sister get down when they got stuck up there."

Loni shook her head as she let out a small laugh, "I can see that happening for some reason, but I never knew she or sister were afraid of heights." Just another thing to put on the board, but this was a good difference. A stray thought went though her head and she blinked, "Umm, I don't think that we got each others names. . ."

Yue flushed softly, embarrassed he'd forgotten to introduce himself, "Oh, right, I'm sorry. I'm Yue." He sat down and wrapped his tail around his legs, recalling that day with a grimace. Xia and Dri had fallen from such a high point, right on top of each other. Ouch.

Loni saw his frown and wondered what he was thinking of, "Well, I'm Loni and it seems you know most all my family." She giggled brightly, "I'm not sure if I've met your sister, what's she like?" She wanted to get his mind off of what was bothering him

Yue seemed to relax instantly, a smile crossing his face, "Xia? Well... she's a bit hyper, but she's a good girl. She just got into a relationship and kept me listening for a good hour..."

Loni smiled brightly as he relaxed a bit, it made her feel much better for some reason. "Sounds like lots of fun," and it did, her and her sister didn't talk much compared to some siblings. Loni was a listener, she liked hearing others stories and learning about them from their reactions.

Yue shrugged lightly. Why he found Loni so easy to talk to was beyond him, "I'm sure you've probably got a few stories about your folks too."
