Her head tilted to the right and then to the left as she looked at the floor. Then, comically, the girl went so far as to try to awkwardly stand on her head (which she didn't even really manage - she toppled right over) in attempt to see if by changing her perspective... the tiny object on the ground would thus in turn, also change.

No such luck though. The item remain the same old, boring thing it had been moments before; a plain, old, dirty stuffed rabbit toy that had possibly seen better days.

A frown adorned Nalani's features as she sat down to glower at it, poking it with her paw, "Hmph! I have no idea why mommy told me that you're such a good companion. You're boring, you're old, you're stinky and you can't even talk!" she paused, then tilted her head, "And you don't move either! You're stupid," she concluded, but did perk up her ears instantly, almost as if half expecting the toy to get up on it's feet and snap right back at her.

When it became clear the rabbit was, in fact, not going to move, the fawn's ears flopped back against her head sadly, her feet scratching at the grass bellow her, "This is boring. You're a horrible friend; I hope you know that."

User ImageIt wasn't so much being exiled from the house as... being told to behave? Not that he listened, which meant leaving was the only way to avoid the endless rant of a parent. But again, it wasn't like he considered her a mother either. Just an amusing pastime, similar to his sister of sorts.

They were only there to give him something to do, so what if Rian was upset about a cup of water spilling on her? It was kinda funny she'd listened when he said to look up while sitting on the table with it. She really was clueless to do that. "Though she was a bit loud... maybe next time less water." He mumbled under his breath, one paw dragging in the grass a second as if in thought, then he returned to his idle wandering.

At least it was a nice day, even he knew better than the not offer silent praise to the sun when it bothered to show it's face. Even if the rest of the day wasn't going so well, until-

One ear lifted at the odd noise, some form of protest from the tone, though aside from that he couldn't make out the words. Though it was more interesting than staring at the sun and... curiosity was something of a delicious pleasure to indulge in. So with a quick redirection he'd turned to meander closer to the source of the noise, soon spotting the brightly colored thing. Or so he'd like to think, he had briefly overlooked her due to the green, he blamed this more on it not being important than anything. Because it was just to amuse himself. Though now, looking upon the scene, he was more intrigued with it.

She had something that looked like a mockery of his 'mother.' This, was certainly a worthwhile object, so why in heavens name was the other kyunru looking upon it with scorn? Alas, no way to find out, but observe. Or simply force one's way in.

A few quick steps as he forced a look of utter boredome onto his face, eyeing first the kyunru, then the stuffed thing a second before speaking. "It's not going to say anything useful you know. It never does." He offered, obviously making reference to his own experiences at home rather than to the plush itself.

((No, he does not approve of 'mommy' at all. 9.9 Can't you feeeeel the loooove? ))

The girl had never really properly been taught to pay attention to her surroundings; she never really had to. She could usually hear her sister coming from a mile away (what with how loudly she wailed), not to mention she could hear Mother and Mommy coming from a mile away too, though for different reasons. Thus so, she entirely missed she had an audience till the boy offered his input on the situation.

Startled, mostly due to the fact that for one brief moment she thought the toy had indeed come alive, Nalani stumbled back comically, tripping over her own feet. She landed on her back, which gave her an upside down view of the real owner of the voice. Despite feeling mildly embarrassed to have been caught off-guard, she remain in the same position she had fallen (mostly because he looked kind of funny from that perspective, really), "How would YOU know, Mr. Smarty Pants? And-" she cut herself off as she comically backpedaled in an attempt to remember what he'd said.

Then realising that the way he'd structured his phrase hinted at the fact the toy could, in fact, speak (albeit apparently only useless stuff), the girl rolled over upright, invading his personal bubble rather happily. She had, amusingly enough, already forgotten she was mildly peeved at him for startling her in the first place, "Woa-woa, wait! Wait, does that mean it can actually talk?" her gaze slid over towards the toy that remain unmoving on the same position she had left it at, "I wouldn't mind even if it's useless stuff! I'm just bored. I thought that if it talked, we could play a ga-" again she halted in her thought process and turned towards the boy, showing off she had the apparent attention span of a gnat, "Hey! You can talk! Why don't you play with me? You look much more fun than that stupid old toy anyways!"

It seemed as if this little girl either didn't think boy had cooties... or had been in the backyard playing with some frogs when that lesson had been taught.

A smirk crossed his face, accompanied by a hushed laugh shortly after the girl managed to vault herself backwards. Or at least that was his opinion. The entire act only lasted a moment after he spoke, but it would likely replay in his mind when he needed something to amuse himself. So little effort, for such a large effect. Truly the world knew how to please one on occasion. If only a little.

Though that amusement was quickly doused with her attitude, the boy's previously lax posture seeming to lift into an attempt to look at stately and proud as possible. Which didn't work well when he suddenly shook his head to knock a few strands of hair out of his face moments later. Mr. Smarty pants!? That was, in fact, a mocking name. He'd heard Nairou use it on Oiseau in disdain all the time, he didn't want to be called that, nor did he want people thinking he was that. "I would know from experience, obviously." He quickly said in the most commanding tone he could muster, which wasn't as impressive as it had been in his mind. Which left hi to merely look to the side, huffing mildly as he pretended to lose interest in the entire thing once more, starring at a tree instead.

He only offered a look out of the corner of his eye as she spoke again, suddenly realizing she'd practically rolled onto him in the process of righting herself. Which led to his own seconds of backing up to regain his space as she spoke. Though the topic was of slight interest. Was she as naive as his sister? Would she really believe that something like that could talk, if so... a bit of a smile dared to roll onto his face at the thought of what he might be able to do. Though the thought was flung aside briefly as she seemed to switch topics again before he could properly formulate the plan, this time all eyes were on him. Not that he couldn't fix the problem.

"I don't play silly games," He offered, using the ever to practiced bored tone he used when talking to Nairou. "-they're a waste of time. Only the rabbit likes games. But..." And then he paused, strolling a paces after a moment until near the rabbit and turning to face her, lowering his head until it was on par with the rabbits. -you probably aren't nearly good enough for it to want to play with you." He lifted his head then, shaking his head slightly. "It's no wonder is didn't talk to you, and I'm truly being kind to even offer you this if you're not even in it's league." He added as an afterthought. Really, she should be honored he'd even offered her some advice. She was as sad a case as his sibling, so very gullible.

She stopped again, blinking for a moment as she eyed him curiously, "Experience?" she questioned in confusion, "Do you have a talking toy or something?" that didn't really make any sense, but stranger things had happened, she was sure of it... specially in elderspark.

Despite the fact the boy was trying to ignore her (trying being the keyword), Nalani was hardly put off. When he turned to look away, the girl simply stood and planted herself effortlessly back directly in his line of vision, "Are you ignoring me?" she asked bluntly, then went as far as to try to catch his attention by pushing herself forward till their noses almost met. The effect was amusing, mostly because she had to look at him cross eyed, blurring her vision and thus deforming him in the process. Leaning back away, his image was restored to it's former glory, "Why are you so stiff? You look like my uncle. My uncle is boring. He's a dragon kyun, but he's always reading. I thought only adults were stiff. What has you so stiff?" her words came in a bit of an avalanche, making it clear poor Loki was not dealing with someone at all like his adoptive sister it seemed. Naive? Quite possibly, but... probably also a bit of a handful to put up with at the same time.

Nalani found herself frowning slightly, tilting her head first right, then left, reminiscence of what she'd been doing with the bunny rabbit toy only moments earlier. It was as if she were trying to read him better by changing the way she looked at him, but was apparently failing quite miserably, "I didn't ask you to play a silly game," she told him, "I want to play a game. Doesn't have to be silly! Not all games are silly, don'tchaknow and I think you-" she was cut off when he strolled over to the rabbit, halting her mental process briefly. Blinking curiously she watched and listened, looking for all her worth very much like a captivated audience as he spoke.

She took the bait. Hook, line and sinker.

Trotting over to him, she planted herself firmly on the ground, spreading her large wings, as if trying to intimidate him with their sparkly goodness, "What? WHAT?" she demanded as she looked from rabbit toy, to kyunru and back, "Anything you can do, I can do better!" she proclaimed proudly, not at all bothering to think where following that claim might leave her. She was content to live the present.

At least she wasn't bored anymore.

He didn't bother to offer a reply at the question of if he had a toy. Her imagination would probably come up with something far better than anything he could offer. Certainly it was a dangerous thing when left unchecked. So a smirk of superiority and he was done with that.

He did have better things to do after all. Though... not really. He'd come here to seek entertainment, and in it's own way she was just that. Even if what she did seemed even more strange than his mother. One of those things being to lean right into his face after asking if he was doing what he'd been pretending to do. And, while he wasn't huge on it, he actually did retreat a bit at it, eyes widening briefly. It was an odd action, enough to leave him off guard even as she continued her questions and explanations that lead into family life. While he didn't care much, he was left starring as if interested while trying to figure out what exactly he'd done to be 'stiff.' Obviously it was a bad thing to be, and frankly, he didn't want to be it. Because it was too like this uncle person and he didn't want to be like them.

Not that he'd met the uncle, but this was a decision he'd just made to himself. So it mattered.

So now, while she was still letting her endless onslaught of questions and comments go on, his mouth worked a bit to proclaim he hadn't done anything to be similar to this uncle Though it was a wordless act. Not that he had much time to dwell on it even as she did finally end her demands, as once again she was staring as if he'd become an oddity. A stiff oddity. Or so the voice in his head chimed much to his disdain, once more gaze averting at the thought, a low grumble escaping along with it and a final "...am not." following it.

But once more, she'd changed the subject, quickly forgetting things. Which was quite tiring, keeping up with her wasn't a simple task with how often she wanted to flip about. Now it was about how he was wrong witht he game? "They're all silly." He added, lifting his face up a bit, an rather snooty look on his face as he tried to further shun the very idea of it being a possibility. Even as she was now seeming quick enthralled with the topic of the rabbit again. Tiresome indeed, but entertaining.

Even as she proclaimed she was superior at everything, Loki was regaining that upper hand he'd once had. After all, this was the plot he was making, he had to know where it was going, even with a statement like that. So after a breath to calm any last ringing tones of stiff, and smarty-pants that were still daring to pop up mid-thought, he offered her an amused look. "If that is so, why does your 'friend' already like me more? It seems there is already this I am better at." At which point he turned, eyes falling on the rabbit, and one ear tweaking as if he heard something she didn't. He even let out a bit of a laugh as if the comment was so worthwhile. Then he shifted again, seating himself while keeping his gaze one her, though not directly. He'd left his head at an angle between the rabbit and her, allowing easy switches in gaze if need be. Though also to avoid allowing her to jump at him too easily again, she was already seeming to poof up a bit with what she'd done with her wings, he was hoping to avoid anything further than that.

Entirely unaware of the tug-o-war that they were apparently playing (at least from Loki's perspective), the girl remain firmly planted on the ground in front of him, her tail lashing behind with swift movements. Her whole posture practically dared the boy to come up with a ruse she could, in fact, not do better than him.

Nalani's posture dropped as soon as he talked though, confusion shinning through her features again, making her look comical, "I.... you... what?" her gaze lowered down to the otherwise still unmoving, still un-talkative, dirty, old rabbit on the floor, "What're you talking about? It hasn't moved yet! How can you say it likes you better than me when-" she halted her words again and blinked as he made a show of apparently 'hearing' something the rabbit said.

For a long moment it looked like she had, once again, taken the bait, but then, she paused, blinked and sat down on the ground, "Ooooooohhhhhh...." she breathed suddenly, as if in realisation, her front paw lifting up from the grass to point at him, "I get it now!" a sage nod followed her words (though it technically looked a tad more ridiculous than it did sage), "You're one of those special kyunru that Mommy told me about," something about the way she said 'special' shouted at the fact she most likely meant 'crazy', actually, "The ones that think they can hear voices in their heads and stuff! I've never talked to a craz- er.... a special kyunru like you before!"

Despite the fact she had already pegged him off as a Smartypants, stiff and now crazy, she was still interested in him, for she took a step forward with renewed curiosity, "What's it telling you?" then, as an after-thought, her eyes hooded over, her voice lowering,"And just for your information, not all games are silly. Only cowards say that, so they can get out of them."

Stiff, crazy, smarty pants and coward. Wow. She was the epitome of social awkwardness, aparently.

A sense of superiority dared to flare in him as her confusion became evident. Certainly he'd won this war, left her believing the plush did prefer him. Even if it was just an object. Normally it would be a rather boring thing, but now it had a use. A truly entertaining use. The internal ego boosting lasted only a moment though, as the sudden sound of realization drew him out of it.

Ah here it came, the admittance that he was the one the thing had chosen. Or not. But it didn't come, he simply watched her nod, holding the fake stare he'd had until it was abolished by the claim. By his jaw dropping open a bit in a look of horror. SPECIAL? Special? He wasn't... no the way she said it. He was NOT crazy. He formed the start of a few words of protest briefly, though no sound came again, before finally speaking in a quick, rather embarrassed tone. "I am NOT special." He stated, mouth closing again with a bit of a clack with how tightly he shut it. "I- I-" He then froze, the realization of what he'd just done dawning on him. He had to clean up the mess, put it back into perspective. Yes, that was it. "You'd hear it too if you listened right. How pathetic." He grumbled, seeming a bit annoyed as he spoke, jerking his head to one side suddenly. "You're just marking me off as crazy because you're jealous. How petty."

Though the composure he'd regained was lost quickly, as she took a step forward and once more left him worrying what she was going to do next. Nothing seemed too far fetched for something she'd pull. From backward launching to shoving her face in his, she was pretty varied.

"I- uh... it." He snapped his mouth shut again, a frown evident briefly. "Well why should I tell someone who just insulted me. And the rabbit too, you just proclaimed in it's face it couldn't be real." He added, shaking his head. "And I am NOT a coward. Only people who are just trying to force oyu to do what they want would say something like that." He quickly returned, shaking his head. "You're just too bossy."

It really wasn't the best way to make friends, chucking an insult for an insult, but he hadn't come for friends anyway? Though, she wasn't that entertaining anymore either, something else. Between amusement and discomfort. Where did one place a freak who seemed to have no boundaries on proper ways to act?

For all his talk, Nalani found him horribly amusing, and deemed the whole encounter worthwhile if only due to the expression of utter horror he showed her. Only sheer willpower kept her from giggling (and thus, possibly bruising his ego enough for him to leave), "Oh, but see, I'm not that kinna special. I can't hear voices in my head like you can... so I can't really hear what Mr. Old, Dirty Bunny Rabbit is telling you," a pause followed as she bit her lips slightly. The way he was stuttering, obviously caught off-guard was amusing, and dare she say it? Cute.

Something told her that calling little boys 'cute' was a sure way to get them to huff and storm off though, and she didn't quite want this one to do that yet. Actually, taking a longer look at him.... he was cute indeed. His long hair made him look a lot like a cute little girl, though his horns kind of balanced out the 'cute' with a portion of 'cool' too.

"Oh, oh! Don't get me wrong! I'm pretty jealous! I wish I could talk with imaginary friends too!" it was hard to tell if she was mocking him or being honest, "That way I'd never grow bored! I think I'd rather like that!" for some odd reason, her padding forward was making him take steps back, which was.... obviously, in turn, making her want to take another step forward just to watch him take one back. It was almost.... almost as if he was afraid of her touching him, which Nalani found horribly hilarious, needless to say.

Caught between being a good little girl by not advancing towards him, and a naughty little girl by doing just that, the girl blinked and listened to him. By the end of his small tirade, she had swiftly decided that she was never a good girl anyway, and being naughty was just so much more fun. Plus, he had called her bossy; oh, she'd show him bossy alright!

A grin spread across her features as she took that moment to jump towards him, using her wings to parachute her fall on him slightly, (just so they wouldn't hurt themselves) in her attempt to either pin him, or roll with him, "Coward!" she claimed as jumped, "If I didn't know better, I'd think you're afraid of me! Do you believe that dumb stuff about cooties too?" almost as if to check, and regardless of if she'd managed to pin him or not, she thrust her paw out, holding it in front of his face, as if she were holding some sort of disease on it, or perhaps some sort of horrible bug, "Come on, don't tell me you believe that too! Here I thought you looked all cools with those horns of yours and stuff!"

One could almost see the fawn trying to bristle up into a poofball at the continued suggestion he was crazy. Not that it worked well, his wasn't nearly fluffy enough to show much, but the stiffened posture was evident as he held in his breath at the utter indignation he felt. She was mocking him, definitely mocking him. Though the moment she took a step again the stance was lost to backing away, avoiding contact with her as had become the rule.

When did that become a rule anyway?

"I, stop making fun of it!" And now perhaps he was the one who'd fallen for his own ploy, not wanting to admit he'd lied, but not knowing how to redirect the conversation. Falling for one's own trap, that had to be a new low. He'd definitely fallen to a level of no return for the day, first being yelled at, and now this. He'd have to hide inside for a few days, let it blow over, figure out what he did wrong, and-

-not let little girls pounce on him.

'EH!?" It was not the more manly way to go down. Certainly not, a simple cry of surprise as the girl tackled him, although gentle, and there was some tussling to do. "I am not! Not in the least!" He hollered back, obviously forgetting the fact he was supposed to be the refined one, and trying to ensure he wasn't pinned. Which wasn't exactly a winning thing, as before long he had a paw shoved in his face from above. He mad e mental note to practice not losing in tussle wars too, though with who he didn't know... Rian was no good for it, she ended up out of breath after fifteen minutes of roaming at his pace. But... this... this wouldn't do.

Not in the least.

"Hmph, of course not!" He barked in reply, losing himself in the moment and sticking out his tongue at her. "If they existed my sister would have infested me long ago, nothing you have could do any more damage!" Which didn't entirely mean he didn't believe, it just meant he was doomed either way. Though some voice in the back of his head, not that he was crazy, did mentally chime that she said he was 'cool.' Brownie points for her, actually those chewie candies Mize sometimes had were better. Though Mize had said she wasn't sure they were good for him. Maybe that was why he was losing... no more chewie candy. Even if it was yummy.

"I bet you're the one who's catching cooties if they exist." He added, suddenly trying to shove her to one side to roll over for the upper hand if the distraction worked. Probably wouldn't though, seeing as she was making fun of him for it. But he COULD try right?

At least he didn't give up easy.
