El had woken up early again, the weight of her puppies kept her awake a lot of the time now. She smiled knowing that this meant her puppies were growing well and they would be born big and healthy. There wasn't a point of time that she couldn't feel at least one of them moving. Most of the time it made her happy, this morning though it was bothering her she wanted more sleep.
She rolled off her side and on to her feet. She knew she wasn't going to get anymore sleep so she decided to walk around her new den. Her and Kael had found it that day the human's had gotten to close, it was a nice den, larger then their last one... which was nice, El was sure there would be enough room no matter how many pups they had.
She began to tidey, what she was tiding she wasn't sure she had been over this den so many times cleaning. She thought Kael was possibly getting a little annoyed with how picky she was being, but he always appeared to be understanding, her mood swings and he never liked upsetting her.

Once again she had arose from her slumber, the sun was not even up yet. Was she okay, were their pups okay. His mind was never at ease, especially when she paced their new, much larger den and kept picking at different things.
"Won't you come back and lay down?" He asked, his side was getting cold and he missed their nights together. Full nights of slumber and waking in the morning to her always cheerful face. He was getting more stressed as the time neared for her to give birth. He was always on his toes and watching, he could still feel the ache of his old broken 'wrist' from those damned humans.
"It is much more then tidy enough m'dear, I'll be out hunting soon, wouldn't you like to lay with me a little longer?" He offers, his voice sweet and almost cooing. He loved her so much and wanted what was best and relaxing is what would be best at this point.

El smiled at Kael, she could hear his worry but there was nothing wrong. "I think I would like to lay down with you maybe just a bit longer." she said as she finished picking at a speck of dirt that she thought should be removed.
She moved towards Kael, she was rather slow these days, she was very happy that Kael was around and could hunt for them. If it wasn't for him she probably would starve during the last part of her pregnancy. She was came and lied down beside he love, "So how many pups do you think we have growing in here?" she asked him sweetly, now that the days were getting closer to the end of the term she fond her self wanting to talk more and more about the babies.

He could never be annoyed. He'd met a few parents including his own that weren't to fond of parenting but, with El by his side he could pull through.
"I think we'll be fine." He smiles and noses her tummy sweetly. "If we need more room I'll put my paws to work and try and make this the best home we could ever have." his tone swore to her taht he would do anything. Absolutely anything for her.

El laughed at Kael, he had been so amazing lately. "I'm not afraid we wont have enough room for our babies, I am just more curious about how many we will have. And I wonder what kinds they are.... hopefully we will have boys and girls... all different. We will have an eclectic little family. " she smiled and nuzzled in Kael side.
"Its all thanks to you my love." her mood was shifting from anxious to loving, it was amazing how fast it could spin.

He knew what his Father had now meant by 'their moods will spin faster then a den after chasing yer tail' El had gone from worried, to happy to upset to calm in moments. It was rather humorous that the old saying was right. Whether physically or mentally, one does get closer to their parents when they are to become parents themselves. "We'll have what we are gifted with, to have a mix would be very amazing though." He was all smiles and tail wags today.

El smiled at Kael, he was so understanding so calm, and he would be happy no matter it seemed. The smile quickly turned to frustration though El wanted to daydream about her pups and he was content just to wait and see.
El stood and she needed to go the bathroom AGAIN. It was getting ridiculous. She was starting to get mad that the pups were still in here, it was time for them to come. She was huge, clumsy and awkward now. She wasn't sure what Kael saw in her at the moment.
"I'll be right back" she huffed as she made her exit from the den. Outside of the den Elaxi tripped over a rock and fell into a hole. She let out a small yelp in pain, but not one that was loud enough for Kael to hear her back in the den. Then instead of calling for him for help, she decided instead to try to do it her self, what did she need him for.

He sighed softly. Another mood swing, a nasty one this time... He could not imagine what she was going through. "You poor dear, I love you so much." He whispered happily and sat there and began the wait for her return from her 10 or pee this morning. Though this morning classified from midnight to about noon which it was hitting very close.

El struggled trying to get out of the whole she had fallen into. It was ridiculous, if it weren't for the fact that she was so damn heavy right now she would be able to get out of this stinking whole no problem. She growled out of frustration.
She looked down at his fat midsection. This was so dumb, if these cubs knew what was good for them they would find away to help their mother get out of this hole! She took another jump trying to get out of the whole, this time she fell and actually hurt herself, she felt her one leg give out under her growing weight.
She realized now that there was no way that she was going to get out of this awful hole. Deciding she had no other option, she called out for Kael. "Help please I need help." She really hoped she wouldn't attract unwanted attention with her calls for help, she had really gotten herself in a sticky situation. The mood had shifted again from anger to fear.

His dreams were so real, life like in fact. He shook a bit, fear driving its way deep into his heart. humans, El. It was horrific. The chase was long, his legs were growing weary and El had gone missing. A nightmare like no other. He was alone again, darkness took him before he awoke, shaking, trembling. "El." He whispered this at first. He remembered her going to the bathroom quite sometime ago but, she was never gone this long. Then he heard a cry, a cry for help. His heart sank low, very low, anger flared bright in his mind and a squeal of tires echoed in his mind. "I'm coming El!" He barked, fury entrapped, warping the kindness. The nightmare had changed him briefly and thus scaring off a few animals both large and small. He was a 'man' on the prowl for his 'woman'. His bark held anger, a fearful strike and power.
He left the den without a thought and it didn't take long to find her nearly weeping with fear in a hole. "Darling. Sweetheart.. everything will be fine." He whispered to her, trying desperately to hold onto the sanity this beautiful dog offered him. The reason he'd become so gentle, loving and not a murdering psycho with emotional issues and problems with treating others right. He'd never be pack material not with these problems. "Just hush.." He smiled forcefully and fought back the emotions he knew were stirring in his eye's.
If he saw the humans now they'd be done for. No way would he spare a life that he knew would attempt to take not only his but, now his mates and their pups. He had entered complete Father-Mode over night it seemed. Love was pure, beautiful and he wanted to share that with El for the rest of their lives. Grabbing a large stick and began dragging it over to help pull her out.

El had never been so relieved in her whole life, she knew the pups felt the same way, she felt them kick when she saw Kael appear. She grabbed hold of the stick he had lowered to her, and hung on with dear life kicking her legs to try to take some of the weight of Kael along the way.
It took them a good ten to fifteen minutes but finally El was out of the dreadful hole that she had fallen into. She collapsed on the ground overjoyed. It had felt like she had been down in that whole for a lifetime. It was terrible.
She began to feel terrible for treating Keal so poorly earlier on. She realized then she oculd really count on him for coming when he needed her. He had surely been asleep when she called out for help and none the less there he was to help her out of her trouble she caused on her own even though she had been so harsh to him before she left.
She looked up at him with her eyes full of thanks.

This was becoming all in a days work. As the pregnancy pushed forward so did El's tendency to wanna do things on her own, Kael didn't mind to much he rather enjoyed seeing her try to be independent. It made him happy noting how strong his mate was and made him proud. "You really ought to be a bit more careful hun.." He smiled, tail wagging and eye's glowing, she still needed him though and for as long as he lived he'd be there.
He nosed her belly lightly, she was getting plump and very full of the pending puppies and the excitement doused the worry he had for her. Parents to be! Him.. he often laughed at that thought. Such a turn around in life El had offered him and he was fully ready to accept it.
"Let's just go back, we'll lay down and await the day to really begin." He smiled again, sweeter this time and began leading her back to the den.

El snuggled against Keal. She was very thankful that he had come to rescue her. She also loved the fact that he didn't turn around and tell her that is was all her fault... something that she didn't want to hear despite that it was true.
"Yes love I think going back to our home" she nuzzled him and then looked down at her belly, she could see her pups moving around in her. They were the cause of these mood swings, but she loved them anyways. She was happy, she had her family it was going to be amazing once her little ones arrived.
"I am exhausted" she told Kael, all that time in the whole trying to get out had warn her out.. it was insane. She shouldn't have spent all that time trying to get out of the hole, she should have known that Keal would have found her in good time.
