 Aurora was exhausted. She'd done nothing but hunt today, and at the end of it all... was fruitless. How crappy is that? She shook her head right and left and plopped down in the shade of a big old oak tree while her stomach rumbled annoyingly. "Stupid rabbits and their stupid holes." She rolled around against the wood of the tree, scratching her back as she watched the beautiful sunset. It reminded her of her mother...

 Peering through the trees, Nikita shook her head. How was she going to tell Aurora that she couldn't take care of her best friend anymore? They lived farther and farther away it seemed each time she brought her sister a rabbit or a bird. Watching her best friend in such a condition made her quilt swell more. Nikita had spoiled Aurora to the point that she just couldn't function on her own. Picking up the squirrel in her mouth again, she slowly walked out in front of Aurora, dropping the small meal in front of her. "Hey.." she whispered, sitting back on her haunches.

Aurora smiled brightly and sat up quickly. "Hey Niki!" She never could understand how Nikita was such a good hunter. She was so sneaky that Aurora could never catch her when Nikita was sneaking up on her. It seemed like she was a ghost then POP. A face full of dirt.
Then her eyes found the carcass. "Yum! Supper!" She looked up at Nikita for permission before she dug into the dead animal. Her tail began thumping once Nikita nodded her head once. She was so happy to have a full stomach again.

Nikita forced a half-smile across her maw as she watched Aurora rip the carcass to bits and gobbled it up. She was thankful for eating before she found Aurora. "So.." she started to lay down but thought it better to just sit up and discuss this. "Had a good day?" she asked curiously, tilting her head some. She was always interested in Aurora's day... no matter how ditzy it sounded.. She giggled as Aurora shot off about today's events.
