Physical Description: Kirana has a soft and loving look to her. Her features are delicately accented by dark brown hair that is cut to frame her face. She often keeps it bundled up on her head, though, so her flitter can't get to it. Her skin is pale despite all of the time she spend in the sun, and her eyes are a soft shade of blue with just the hint of gray dancing in them. People say not to judge a book by a cover or a person by their appearance, but every snap judgement you can make about Kirana from her appearance will most likely be true.
Personality: Kirana is shy, sweet, and bashful. She doesn't like to talk to anyone she doesn't know very well, and it's hard for her to get to know people very well because she won't talk to them [Catch-22!], so Kirana cherishes the few friends she has been able to make. While usually understated, Kirana can become sarcastic, vicious, and dry wittied when she's annoyed and childish, weird, and annoying when she's happy. She also has a tendence to worry too much and too strongly.
History: Raised mostly by apprentices, Kirana never really got to know her parents too well except that they were both extremely hardworking people. Her older brother Riran was always a troublemaker, but she learned how to talk the Journeymen out of getting him in trouble at a young age.
Riran pretty much owes his continuation of his Journeyman's status to Kirana. When he was working towards it, Riran always had trouble with the required instrument making area of the apprenticeship. So Kirana would often sit up at nights when nobody was around and work on improving his instruments, correcting any problems, and making sure they were up to the proper standard.
When Riran was promoted to Journeyman, Kirana's mother sent her to 'assist' him with his duties. Journeymen hardly ever had assistants, but since everyone in the Hall knew how useless Riran was/is without Kirana around, they let her go.
After the Rias Weyr plague, Kirana was sent down to the Weyr in order to document to number of losses and the people whom were lost and become attached to the small Weyr. She was sent back to document the flight and hatching because she showed interest in it. Just for a laugh, she stood in the line for search during the first candidate meeting and was chosen, despite her age. Now, she just waits.
