Accepted by souName: Fline { Fuhlin-e}
Age: 52
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Farming, specializes in grubs.
Rank: Sr. Journeywoman
Physical Description:
An incredibly short woman, Fline is often described as a bit of a grub herself. Her hair is short and an indeterminate shade of brown, wisping around her skull like the body hairs of the creatures she has devoted most of her professional career to studying. Her eyes are pretty enough, being a bright sky blue, but they are hidden behind an outrageous pair of spectacles that take up most of her face. Despite her vision handicap, Fline is in incredibly good shape for a woman her age. Her body is wiry and full of sinewy lean muscle that is great for stomping around fields and through forests for days at a time... but not for any type of strength. She can survive quite well on very little food, and has done so in the past.
Personality:
Dry and cackly is the best way to describe this old harridan. She is incredibly passionate about her craft, but she has little use for people and their heavy footed ways. As a younger craftswoman, she evaded much of the stigma placed against ranking women crafters by being outright hostile to everyone equally. Her dry humor and sarcastic wit become her chief weapons when she was plagued by the males of her crafthall, and over time everyone just learned to leave her alone. The MasterFarmer recognized her talents early on, so she was in no danger of being demoted or kicked out. He was more then happy to let Fline have her way and study the little creepy crawlies to her hearts content.
History:
When one has lived as long as Fline has, 'history' becomes something of a trivial detail when compared to 'accomplishments.' Her life to date is mostly measured by those projects she has seen to completion, and others that are in the works.
Still, it is important to note that she came from Nerat and was the oldest daughter to a farmer and his homemaker wife. Both are dead now, as are her two younger sisters, which is another reason Fline doesn't care to talk about the past all the much. It is hard to tell whether she had a happy childhood, but for all intents and purposes, she seems capable enough of operating in society.
Pets: A tall wolfhound-like canine named "Nine" who she acquired up in Lemos from a woodsmith. The man wanted to thank her for saving a plot of his trees that were being plagued by a new fungus that was affecting the local grub species.
Other/Talents: She is brilliant in her chosen field, and can often diagnose problems with the soils of a farming tract just by analyzing a few grubs.
Will this character be a candidate? Heck no. She has no use for Dragonriders! Her grubs will save the world!
