I was in an intermediate 2 class last summer but due to a toe injury and then getting a job i could not take ballet last year. SO now i am back in Intermediate one. ( we only have three levels for older girls in the studio)

Anyways I am thinking I want to go to college for ballet. I'm not as good as I was but I work hard.

Only issue. I'm not advanced as I should be obviously having been taking at mediocre studios since i was 6. Well... now I'm a a good one but I'm still at basicly a 13 year old level whilst I should be in advanced being a senior in High school this year.

SHould i persue my dream or settle for something different. I'm highly multi talented from painting, singing, writing, designing and sewing costumes.

My original idea was to major in dance and costuming/ fashion design but i found that you cant double major and deffinaltly not minor in an art because of teh studio time.

any ideas on what i should do? I have to go to auditions all this year to beable to get scholarships and entrance. I'm just really intimidated. Esspecially by my teachers brother who takes one of my classes and he is a professional from the local company. D:

well it really all depends. every college that offers dance is not the same.
each program is different, as well as the individual dancers.
where i am, they frown on college dance training as a means to become a "professional" dancer, because many college programs just aren't the same level of dancing that you would be doing in a professional company.

but then again, there are many levels of professional companies as well.

i would say do what you feel you want most. in the long run, you must make the choice based on what you want, and not what others think. otherwise you may do something that you could regret for the rest of your life.

i'm dealing with those same issues as well. i'm choosing to go for it. even though i'm weak, easily injured, and very far behind in my technique. not to mention i'm currently at a summer intensive, and having to sit out because of a fractured shin.

i'm sitting it out, healing up, and when i'm better, i'm going for it. because this is my last shot at this, and i've done it all my life. i don't want to give it up now.

i think that if you want to and work hard enough, you can make your dreams come true. i mean, technically i'm living mine now. i get paid for dancing per show. and i'm nothing special. you have a shot at doing something with it if you look for the right place for you.

i hope whatever you choose, that you choose it for you, and that you will be happy with it. good luck.
