Mysmyr - SkieBorne
Mysmyr's attentions were on keeping out of the way this day, on simply exploring the swamps and playing a game of shadow with anyone that happened by. It was a tendency he'd developed as a child... to fade into the background and move around without being noticed.
Padding quietly by a pond, he stopped to drink some of the water, scanning for turtles as he did so. They were very good here, after that hunt with Adhabu had ended successfully. The multitude of little lakes and ponds and waterways were prime habitat for them.
Semira was having another quite day, she was slowly but surely beginning to make friends and the swamps were begining to feel like home to her. She was even beginning to figure out how the maze of streams and ponds worked in the swamp lands, and what led where, she found it amazing when she could venutre far from her den see more and still be able to make it home with out a worry.
This morning she was off in a particularly watery area, there were several ponds in the area, she walked over the mushy ground feeling her paws sink into the ground a little, it was a sensation that she didn't like at first but was now beinging to get use to and actually enjoyed. She came around a tree beside one ponds and spotted Mysmyr having a drink. She took a step towards him and a stick snapped under her paw.
Mysmyr paused, his head still lowered to the water's surface and tilted his head in the direction of the sound. The light breeze was not in his favour this day so he had noticed the other's approach. Silent, she was, as silent of as he if he wasn't so proud of his stalking abilities. "Semira..." He murmured, raising his head so he stood properly, "And what brought you out into the swamps? A desire to explore beyond the safety of the dens? There are crocodiles here, and venomous snakes. Do be careful."
Semria took a step back at the mention of the dangers of the swamps, she hadn't overly thought about what she might encounter out her. Instead of running for the dens she got closer to Mysmyr, he had proved useful on the journey here she felt that she could trust him to protect her and perhaps if she stayed close to him she would actually have the guts to explore the swamps more. She did want to learn more about her home. She wanted to make the most of it.
"I am sure we will be ok if we stick together Mysmyr." she said gently hoping that Mysmyr wouldn't mind her company. She now didn't want to be alone anymore.
He tossed his mane as he moved forward to bathe briefly in the water, the cool droplets a curtain of diamonds in the shadows as he did so. "Just keep your eyes open, hmn? I can't do anything about a snake bite and we wouldn't want to see you killed, would we?" He smiled at her.
"Have you learned anything new since we last spoke? I have not seen you for a few days - our paths did not cross."
"I can't say that death would be high on my priority list" she said smiling, death infact scared her a lot, it was something she had to face as a child, and fending for herself so wrong meant that she was always in danger. She had fought for her life for so long, she didn't want it to end now when she was finally happy in a new home. Instead of being uncomfortable about death she had begin to joke about it, particularly now that she was in her safe new home.
" I have actually learned since we last talked!' she announced proudly. "I have made friends, and seen more about how the pride operates, its really quite amazing." Her face was lit up with how much she had managed to learn. The pride was very interesting and it was amazing to be here now.
"I'll keep that in mind," he joked in return, dunking once more before returning to shore, "That's good to hear, my friend. There's so much to do. I was thinking, perhaps, of volunteering for a hunt. I do not want to waste my time here, after all. Better to contribute now that I've had a look around."
He began to move off, simply wandering as they spoke, "You? Are you planning on joining any particular faction? I think, maybe, that they might be looking at such things."
Semira smiled it was just like Mys to think about how he should be useful. "I have thought some what about what I should do. I have been told my black pelt would be useful in the hunting parties" she said looking down at her black pelt, and spinning slightly to ensure he got the full extent. It was true her black pelt had been useful to her in the past, but her ruby red eyes were often her give away.
"I am just not sure I am a good enough hunter to keep up with a pride such as this, I have always managed to get food for myself but lets face it I would be content eating jack rabbits. I think I would be made fun of greatly if I brought rabbits back here for the pride's dinner" she said smiling. "I have managed to befriend a lioness who is a hunter for the pride, but she is pregnant right now so she isn't really up to teaching. Perhaps after her litter is born she would be able to give me some helping pointers. “
He obligingly watched her, arched a brow and nodded approvingly, "You have the form for it, and the colours. Very appealing for such a thing." At he uncertainty, he chuckled, "You, who's black as midnight, would be uncertain about hunting? Every lion can hunt. I'm sure you can too."
He perked at the mention of the huntress, "What about that...? Do you like children? Rabbits and small prey make good items for children to gnaw on and play with. Perhaps you could assist her if you do not think your skills up to par."
He smiled, "I enjoy children. They're so very amusing to watch. Boundless energy and much potential." Mysmyr was enjoying this female, enjoying toying with her, really. There was no harm in it, it encouraging her devotion. Allies were good things, after all. And if things became inconvienant... well, he'd simply walk away.
"I think assisting her would be great fun, and hopefully along the way I will be able to learn." Semira smiled thinking about her new friend she had made.... she was kind and Semira was fairly confident that she wouldn't mind showing her the ropes.
Hrm cubs... how did she feel about cubs, around the pride was the first time she had been around young ones in a long time. "I suppose I like children well enough, I haven't really experienced children all that much though." she admitted to him. "Though I find the ones around the pride to be quite brilliant, they are very energetic and full of wild ideas" she said, thinking of one cub in particular she had met who was convinced the lizards in the area were going to take the pride over. " I suppose that I would be a good hunter for children, its not like they could eat a whole antalop to themselves."
He listened as he walked, nodding on occasion to demonstrate his attention, "Perhaps, then, you should mind the children with her?" Mysmyr, turned his head so he could see as they padded along a narrow natural bridge that arched over a gully, "Wild ideas? Anything of note?"
"I think perhaps I will mind the children with her" she said lightly, her friend had gotten quite huge and she was sure she woulnd'tn mind the extra help Semira could offer. She smiled at Mysmyr "Wild ideas me? Do you know me at all?" she asked laughing, Semria was the farthest thing from implulsive something Mys probably was aware of he just seemed to enjoy egging her on. Mind you the joking manner she was speaking in wasn't all like her either Mysmyr seemed to have a way of bringing her out of her shell, making her more light hearted. "Now now Mys we both know you are the one with all the ideas."
He blinked, caught totally off guard by her responses and stopped, turning halfway towards her, "Ah... I speaking of the cubs you seem so fond of. They have wild ideas, you said. What are they?" Mysmyr chuckled and returned to his walk then, bemused.
"Yes, though, I have many ideas."
Semira blushed wildly she had completely missed the question. "Uh no not really the cub I talk to most has the idea that lizards in the area are going to take over the pride. She seems to think she has heard them plotting." Semira chuckled as she talked of the little cubs ideas, she had to admit she did egg them on slightly by asking question to get the cub more excited about the whole idea. "Just a cub having some fun nothing out of the ordinary, its the time of life one is meant to have fun. No worries in the world. Oh to be that age again" she said whimiscally looking back towards Mys.
"Lizards? Take over?" He chuckled, apparently relieved. "Agreed, being a cub is so carefree. There's time to plot and imagine so much." Mysmyr returned her gaze from across a pond, having taken a separate path then she in this area.
"You're quite amusing, Semira. Do stick around some." He chuckled, ears flicking. I haven't tired of you he thought.
"I didn't plan on going far.' Semria admitted, she enjoyed spending time with Mysmyr he had a quallity to him that made her more care free. She was able to let loose, and he seemed to care about her. Whether or not he cared for her for the right reasons, she wasn't sure nor did she really bothered to think about it. For the first time in her life since her childhood she was having fun. It was a change for her. "So Mysmyr where are you headed, mind if I tag along, I dont think I am quite ready to return back to the dens."
"Oh, I'm just wandering." Mysmyr replied with a smile, seeming mysterious without much effort, "You're welcome to join me if you want. I don't plan on returning any time soon either."
Semira follwed him without a second thought. She didn't mind that they could be gone for awhile, she was ready for an advneture and who better to go with then the one who made her care free. Withouth looking back towards the dens she fell into step beside Mysmyr.
