This is the thread in which I'll place my poetry. If you have poetry you want to share, then go make your own damn thread. xd

This is a simple poem. It will be turned in for a school assignment, but the basis for this work I had been working on for long prior. I do not claim to be any skilled at poetry whatsoever; in fact, I consider them to be sub-par.

Staring Down

Staring down, down below,
I see you, walking alone.
The gray skies reflecting
your soul.

Every day, the same routine,
the wind a-blowing, the sky storming.
And most of all, I can tell
you're lonely.

Then it pours, instead of frown,
you glance up, glad for the sound.
And treat each raindrop like a kiss
from a cloud.

Staring down, down below,
I see you, and you're not alone.
Because you have me with you
to walk this road.

I made another poem. This one for the same assignment... I thought I should have a better one, actually. So here it is.

Race of Life

You like fire; racing flame

All the glory; all the fame,

Everybody knows your name

Because you like fire; racing flame.

Watch the clouds canter by

Looking down, from up on high,

In their homes; in the sky

They see you stare—and sigh.

Careful you don’t fall in silky snare

Or glance into that evil glare,

Careful; you should be aware

Those nasty spiders—everywhere.

Woe is you; lo and behold

Your greatest fear of growing old,

But a sealed fate, you have been told

You can never escape—growing old.

Too perceptive; always been that way

You cannot easily ignore the sway,

To notice things each and every day

Too perceptive; always been that way.

You see humanity; it’s all too clear

You are afraid; indeed you have fear,

Our collision with reality is all too near

When no one lends common sense an ear.

Your fears, nature shall tend

Your whims, bliss will send,

To you my strength I lend

Resolve yourself, ‘till the end.

Don’t be afraid any longer

Each day your fight is stronger—

All inner doubts begone

For it is time; the race is on.

I may choose to expand this in the future.
