The day was warm... and boring. Kisa had traveled much furthur than was comfortable with her parents, searching for fun beyond the borders of ice and snow. That landscape could always seem so drabby... But even now, as she lay at the side of a small forest lake, there was no fun to be had. Everything seemed to be playing it safe in the drowsy heat--there were no lost fawns to chase, no flightless birds to torment, no other helixes to frighten. In all, the day was beginning badly for the young helix.
"Why must you always be so dull?" she asked, to no one in particular, but perhaps to the very world. Now that she was older, she no longer found entertainment in hunting with her father--in fact, his blood-lusty tactics almost seemed to her to be un-sophisticated. There were better ways to hunt prey--better ways to stalk your prey, put a little fear in it's heart. Yes. That was the way she liked it.
But not today. Kisa sighed as she rolled over onto her back, waiting for something--anything--to come along.

Sin was angry. How shocking? Soul had ratted him out after she caught him sneaking out last night. "God, she such a little wench!" he growled under his breath as he pretty much stomped through the forest. Stupid stupid stupid sisters.
He stopped by a pond and leaned his head down to take a drink. He then took notice that he hadn't been to this part of the forest before, and by the scent knew that it was getting close to the edge. The temperature had dropped some to be a little chilly and the trees and plants were thinning out.
The cold water felt good on his dry throat. While we was leaning back up to maybe find some food, a figure caught his eye. Soon after spotting it, she spoke. Eavesdropping wasn't polite. His mother raised him better. But who cared? He sat, head tilted, listening to her talk to herself.
"Why must you complain so much?" he called to her, across the lake. "It's very unattractive." he sneered, grinning darkly.

Kisa's body automatically twisted around as the stranger's voice reached her ears. Her ears perked, and her face tightened into a snarl.
"Unattractive? You would know!" she insulted, scrambling to her feet. Anger welled up inside of her as she realized that this other Helix had caught her by surprise--she hadn't even sensed him coming. To do such a thing was... well, unheard off. And... amazing.
She quickly looked the other adolescent over, her eyes lingering on the bright, intricate markings. Why did wolves from this territory always have such brilliant coats? Perhaps there was more nutrition, in the warmer climate. However, Kisa's family was quite plain. But her mother always told her that plain was beautiful... whatever that meant. Like Kisa cared!
"Who are you?" she growled, untrustworthy in this new stranger, who seemed to have as much attitude as herself.

Now that she was facing him, he could take in her features better. She was good looking, but he'd seen better. Euterpe crossed his mind at the thought of that but she spoke again, and he was drug back to the present.
"First of all-" he began, standing to his feet and strolling around the side of the lake, as if care free. "I would know. Quite well." He grinned, bluffing like he was a big time player. She wouldn't be able to tell he wasn't, anyway. "And secondly, why should I tell you?" He paused, dramatically giving her the elevator eyes. It was a look that would read a snotty but intrigued expression too most.

Kisa frowned, her eyes narrowing in frustration. Who was this Helix? What made him think that he was so much better than her? He had no right!
But, then again, something within those twinkling eyes almost reminded her of herself...
"You should tell me because it may save you a humiliating battle," she said, her voice strong and steady. She stalked around the lake, coming ever closer to the other helix, even as he neared her. It was as if they were scoping each other out...
"I come from the north, and believe me--one has to be strong to survive in such a place. And I had a great father to teach me my skills," she bragged, letting her body fall into a rhythmic sway as she walked along. Her moves were delicate, almost beautiful--but her eyes were set and fierce.
"You can't win against me."

His eyes locked with hers but he could still see her entrancing stride. It was so confidant and just seemed to flow in her muscles. Of course, he didn't let his face slip. He still held his daring sneer as his eyes melted into her gaze.
Then her words sunk in. She was darn near challenging him! With both parents being omegas, he was never taught to fight by any great teacher. Though he could hold his own when fighting with his older sister, Soul- and that most definitely wouldn't fall under 'play fighting.'
"You do believe I can't?" he chortled, his chest rumbling as his head leaned back. He knew better than to leave his neck exposed to her for to long and quickly shot head down, right into a strong glare, making sure to keep her locked down in his gaze.
"Do you even presume I would hold back just because you're a chick? I would fight you like non other. There are no genders whilst in battle, girly." he crouched down and made a snarling noise and bared his fangs as if he were ready for the fight at any moment.
Then, with out any thought, he sat back and smiled, almost sweetly. "But. Today isn't the day you feel my fangs on your throat." he turned and glanced over his shoulder at her, smiling. "Even though you seem like you would thoroughly enjoy that." he winked. "Later girly." He laughed a little, starting his way back from which he came.
